Using the fact that 95% of servers are 3rd person therefore everyone wants third person is false logic. If i put a pepsi, a coke and a dr pepper in front of you and said Choose - it doesn't change the fact that you may actually want a beer instead.

If you generalise and compare the Arma modding community with the DayZ modding community they are sometimes poles apart in terms of respecting each others work and giving fair credit where it is due. There have been numerous cases, for instance, of new mods using custom maps without even having the decency to ask the original maker of that map (something that can take literally years to produce) It is all about respect, really.

Well i must be the only one who doesn't see this "performance" hit that everyone keeps on about. And in my opinion the only thing BI have failed to deliver are Cease and Desist orders for hacking their files.

Have to laugh. You do realise that without the original vanilla mod Day Zero wouldn't exist? Origins, DayZero - they all owe so much and i really don't see much in the way of thanks, appreciation (or permission?). I've played DayZero and sure it is OK, but lets not kid ourselves - they haven't reinvented the wheel. Standing on the shoulders of giants is easy. Where were they 18 months ago?

Well i don't know about a sniper rifle, but once they allow us to throw it the best will be: Hatchet.

The problem i have with farming is that i just don't think in the situation we find ourselves (washed up on a beach in a zombie apocalypse) you would find the time. Life in DayZ is quite short (unless you hide in the bush for 72 days) so rather than farming i would prefer harvesting berries, apples, pumpkin patches or hunting animals instead of trying to till a field, plant seeds, water the crops and harvest the crops. I mean how long would it take crops to grow? But then again i am a city boy and don't like to get my hands dirty.

Since you came up with the grand idea of taking a dump in game i propose that you are awarded an in game item named after you. How about Eazy-Makaveli Laxatives? Me? I predicted that the 1st vs 3rd debate would go on until the end of time. I think i may be right.

Well, i'd recommend getting a better computer (if possible) before the Standalone alpha release! You won't want to miss out on that.

Well atm the zombies are just a backdrop anyway. If there were no zombies you would need something to keep you on your toes apart from the PvP. Wild animals, escaped lunatics, dinosaurs, terminators, something.

[sarcasm] Maybe DayZ needs a Batman-style detective mode (also seen in the upcoming game The Division). That way 1st person can see through walls while 3rd can remain seeing over them. A fair compromise. [/sarcasm]
