Definitely vanilla is the way to go. However i think there must be thousands of players out there, like my mate, who have a completely skewed idea of what DayZ is all about. He only started playing after the mods of the mod explosion. If he cant find a vehicle, high end weapon and a Huey in the first hour of playing he isn't interested. I've said it before but i think an awful lot of the newer DayZ players are not going to understand the Standalone at all. Think i should re-evaluate my friends...

1.8 Makes Melee Nearly Pointless

I disagree since i now find the machete so overpowered in regards to zeds. One hit kill means you should be able to take care of any number of zeds without alerting any more......indoors of course. Attacking a zombie outside with a melee weapon has always been an exercise in randomness - you might get them first but more often than not they get a few cheeky hits in. -
It would be interesting if one day you visited Tulga there were 6 zombies, while the next there were 30. Something to keep you on your toes is good.

i think its essentially a variable name. somewhere else there will be a value for this variable. In a program i use at work putting %3 in a line allows me to have various values which i have in a table column called %3. I am by no means a programmer but it is essentially a language thing.

I personally think the infection rate is fine. If you are getting infected you are either unlucky or getting hit far too often. At least now you have a chance of preventing full blown infection. Tbh if you get you hands on a machete then zeds become no problem at all - one hit kill anywhere and of course silent. And with the new system of being able to interchange melee and primary weapons so easily there shouldn't be a need to attract any more zeds to your location with a gunshot. I think we all know and agree the zombies are glitched out and are a major issue, but this is an Arma problem and the mod devs cant do much about it.

I like this idea Low/Med/High So, for example, if you jump on a Low server you know that there could be between 0-15 players, bit not the exact number. -
I don't see how this can be viewed as being much worse. Now you actually have a chance clean the wound before infection takes hold, while before infection was instant.

My vote goes to Mozambique actually. Any country that has an AK-47 (and bayonet) on their actual flag is a great country by me. -

Without other mods and maps the interest in DayZ would have dropped off significantly. I am not a fan of some of the 10,000 vehicles, spawn with a DMR servers but i am comforted by the fact there will be a lot of tears and butthurt from players who go from those servers to the SA. -

I like the idea of old and new so i would rather a European location than say Australia where all you would get are shopping malls, dangerous animals and desert. And not many guns.
