Sure the number of players could be increased but even 200 would be too many for a game like DayZ - it is the apocalypse. 4000 would basically be the combined population of Chernarus.

And we would then be waiting 2 more years for the alpha.

So what engine do you suggest assuming it does what the Virtual Reality engine can do? Map size, object count, view distance, and no loading screens. Oh, and an MMO. Really, i'd like to know.

A lot of people here seem to have the misconception that Rocket is the only person working on this project. There is a team at work, some on the map, sound guys, animation guys, modellers, etc etc. When their work has been deemed acceptable for release then i assume it gets added to a patch. So to cry "Why bother with pink mosins...what about zombies clipping through walls!!" means you don't really understand the process. None of us do. When a particular department has finished something why wouldn't it get added to a patch? -
An experimental patch should be available sometime Monday and looking at Rocket's thread: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/165709-pending-changelog-experimental-branch-031114343/ you can see what things are to be implemented. I did not see the PC Gamer stream so can't comment on vehicles being added just yet, but i would be very surprised if it were end of January.

This would appear to be a bug. Blood types should only change upon respawn. People don't spontaneously change blood type IRL.

114008 is the current stable build of the game. -
Playing the KoS style is not a necessity. It is the easy option sure, but perseverance with being somewhat friendly does pay off.

A variety of crawlers, hoppers, shamblers, joggers and sprinters would awesome. I am sure once the life cycle of the zed is implemented we will get this sort of variety. -

I think all that is required is dozens more spawn points need to be placed along the east coast, maybe even a couple on Skalisty. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Balota barracks moved completely and another small military camp put somewhere else on the map.

I don't think anyone can argue that 3PP is not exploitative. In the situation Dslyecxi found himself in the vid he would have been noticed by at least one of the group he was stalking. However, having objects and terrain on very low would have revealed his position as well. There are many exploits in the game atm, 3rd person just happens to be the one most commonly used. You will not convert many die hard 3PP players and to be honest once the 1PP/3PP hives come into place it wont matter anymore. -
What you talkin' about Willis? EDIT: But yes, a red chain means you are disconnected from the server, it shouldn't automatically kill you.
