One thing i am yet to see too much of in DayZ is a good old fashioned duel. What happened to gentlemen banditry where you could challenge your accoster to a civilised duel. All i see now are players getting handcuffed, drained of blood and force fed bleach. I plan on bringing honour back to Chernarus. Back to back, pistols drawn, 10 paces/seconds, turn and shoot. Winner takes all. If you see me, don't KoS, i challenge you. Some rules of a 10 pace Duel: 1. If possible a 3rd person should "officiate" the duel, to make sure all is fair and the count is done properly in Direct Chat. 2. Back to back the duelists must walk forward with pistol pointed down for the 10 second count. 3. On the count of 10, turn and fire. 4. If any duelist cheats or shoots too soon his life is forfeit and he will be hunted down, handcuffed and force fed Disinfectant. 5. No crouching or proning either during the pace or in the act of shooting. 6. You can not advance on the opponent when firing. 7. You cannot retreat from an opponent upon firing. Conversely, similar rules to a Stand and Draw Duel can be used. Both parties stand apart, pistols holstered. Upon the command of "1, 2, 3, Draw!" the duelists draw and shoot. I think the hotbar is quite a good simulator for quick or slow draws. EDIT: I also want to add if anyone gets footage of a duel please post it here. EDIT: If anyone wants to duel each other for example, please feel free to post where you are so as to organise - would be good to get a bit of a crowd as well.

Well once modding is allowed in the SA then who knows you may get "Cherno Deathmatch" or "Capture the Green Mountain flag", but i for one will be happy to continue with the Vanilla SA.

Shoot i've been trying to kill people in "PvE" servers for days but i think the players must be all together in a forest singing Kumbayah cos i cant find them anywhere.

I believe the street lights are to be removed and are a temporary feature until the night time is up to the Devs standards. There should be no power at all apart from battery powered. It would not take long for the power grid to completely fail without the constant maintenance that is required to keep things running smoothly.

Yep. I too want a bitch of a game that tries to kill me at every moment. Disease, hunger, thirst, cold, bandits and of course zeds. As Rocket said, To understand Hardcore, one must be Hardcore.

Well with 1st/3rd person hives i can now play seriously on Hardcore and be a complete dick on the Regular hives. Sounds great!

1 - Sprinting makes you thirsty and uses up energy me thinks 2 - Loot spawns are going to be fixed i think, though stuff should still be quite hard to find. 3 - I agree if you were starving and had a can of beans in your hand you would find a way to smash it open 4 - There are Hardcore and Regular hives (not sure if implemented yet) 5 - Get a fire axe and Zeds will not be a problem (until they up the numbers). Strafe around and one hit them to avoid getting slashed 6 - Rotten fruit can give food poisoning 7 - Dont think shoe qualities are in yet but i imagine the condition means how often you will have to find new shoes and whether your feet get damaged.

The levels arent able to be shown, only the messages and what you see in the Inventory screen. 3rd person should be available on Regular servers (try enter on your number pad).

I don't think having a special bullet proof beret is going to improve the game. PvP, or the constant threat of PvP. is what makes DayZ so tense. Wear the UN beret and spread the word that those who wear it are friendly/medics - but dont expect players to follow the rules.

My eyes!! Roaming Wolves and harsh weather yes. But i am not keen on The Beast or NPCs. NPCs invariably suck or are Terminator aimbots.

If everyone is walking around with an M4 or other military grade weapon then they become worthless. Finding a good weapon should be a moment of joy, not a "meh" moment.

Yep, the idea was to use the M4 and attachments as a template. Once done other guns can use the same methodology and be rolled out much quicker and hopefully, bug free.

I found a rotten banana....and it didn't make me sick. Still hungry though. Plenty of jeans and athletic shoes to be found but nothing else on the server i was on. It's almost like the apocalypse....

Let's hope so. Skitterish wildlife would be great, as well as some which see you as food. Bears, packs of dogs (wolves) and of course Giant Sturgeon.
