Well its obvious what this game needs - zombie midgets -
I have just watched the recent PC Gamer live stream and one of the comments Rocket made greatly intrigued me. That of adding horror elements to the game. Rocket stated examples such as random lights flickering, or walking into a house which for some reason has power and a TV is left on. He didnt state these would be added to the game however. This got me thinking about other subtle horror elements that could be added, things that would increase tension and paranoia but not be a direct threat (the threat being in your head). Some quick ideas: People hanging (suicide) from trees, or in barns Pits full of dead bodies Distant cries for help What do you think?

In so many ways Day Z is the most realistic thing to happen on PC's in quite some time. Hunger, thirst, sickness, being stealthy, having only one life all add to the realism of the game. As a Social Experiment however, the game, through no fault of Rocket, has failed. 95% of people shoot on sight. Why? Because it is a game and people know it is a game? There arent any repercussions to a persons actions and so shooting people has become blase. And in a game like this i dont think you can apply penalties to someone who shoots on sight. Think for a minute that if the scenario in Day Z actually happened. Would you, as a human being shoot people on sight? Or would you band together with your fellow survivors and try and survive? I think 95% of people would be so scared that they would cling onto any human contact they could. However this isnt being translated into the game - why not? Is it too hard to band together with strangers? Are beans too addictive? Is it easier to shoot than talk? Is it more fun to kill others? Just interested in knowing peoples thoughts that's all. Cheers

I agree, in hindsight the cries for help isnt something i would want. A cry for help should mean that someone is there.

Feature: Replace infection with 'Zombism' infection.

I suppose Rocket has a 'story' in his head of what the infection is and how it is transmitted and whether the player is immune or not, but it would defintely up the tension if there was a small chance of getting infected. The problem with this is how do you get cured? Surely if all it took was a few antibiotics the world wouldnt have gone to shit in the first place. Infection should be a death sentence. -

You could definitely pump up the paranoia with fog. Other things to freak out players: Totally random items in the middle of lonely roads - upturned prams, wheelchairs, etc Empty, blood stained, candle lit cabins in the middle of woods, mountains Some buildings having security lights that suddenly come on when you get close at night. Subtle, unobtrussive things that give you pause to think and possibly shit yourself.

Because i am a frigging weirdo i actually crouch ran in the grass and along a road (in the rain)...in real life on my street. The thing was i was actually louder in the squelchy grass than on the road. -

Maybe instead of posting on pointless threads he is actually working on fixing bugs and adding new features. I'd say that's a fair assumption And disciplined by BI - are you serious? If i was disciplined for making my employer millions i would walk out the door. -

That's the whole point - everything, including your life, can be taken away from you in a second. I wont say dont get attached to stuff, but....dont get attached to stuff. In the future i am sure Rocket will implement places where your hard earned stuff can be hidden (and hopefully be degraded as well). Until then, spread the wealth. -

As well as a Disconnect timer where your body stays in game for a few seconds what i would like is a minimum time that has to be spent on a server before you can log into another server, even if it is 5 minutes. Eg: A player logs out of server A and logs into server B. He has to stay logged into server B for 5 minutes before he is allowed to log out (unless he dies or is kicked off of course) and relog into server A again. This would stop rampant server hopping, especially that done to gain advantage in a gunfight by spawning directly behind people. -
You know what, i used to be against ideas like this but now i am in agreeance. A global wipe sounds like a good idea. Have it done at an exact time so everyone spawns at once and has nothing. Having 50 players on a server who have nothing would be a hoot! And just to clarify i stand to lose some good stuff so it isnt the whining of somebody who has nothing.

I heard that Rocket is planning on implementing boxes to put ammo in so i cant see why first aid kits can be introduced as well.
