I try not to shoot zombies if i can help it. Though with one wrong Lee Enfield shot you can suddenly find your Zed count jumping up to 40 in no time.

Barns, smaller towns, deer stands - that's what i aim for when playing seriously. Once you have some OK gear then you can brave the airfields. As for Cherno/Elektro - i always like to have a looksey, and it makes the game more fun. But i usually end up dead from the infamous "800m Sniper" -
Do i detect sarcasm, Fish? Leaving messages of some kind would be cool, but i imagine the clutter on the servers could be an issue.

Totally agree. I think radical changes every (major) update just to see how far and in what direction Day Z can be pushed. For example what would happen if there were no, or extremely rare guns. Would the world be full of axe weilding maniacs or helpful survivors? Server wipes for every major update is a must in my book, too. -

Romero Zombie vs Rage Infected

If you listen to what Rocket says - he wants to implement a Zombie/Infected life cycle at some stage. Newer/recently infected or just fed zombies will be fast and older zombies or those that havent fed for a while will be slower. In this game with the vast open spaces available shambling zombies would be no threat at all, unless there were thousands of them. I agree that super human Usain Bolt-esque zombies are sometimes annoying but they pose much more of a threat. I am sure one day we will have a vast variety of slow/fast, weak/strong zombies to run from. -
Me too, there just seems to be something creepy about Green Mountain. Maybe it is all the dead soldiers or the fact that for the size of the place i never find anything worthwhile and just want to get the hell out.

Considering we 'miraculously' already know how to fix and fly helicopters as well as give blood transfusions and fix all vehicles i dont think we need a book to tell us how to create splints or fur camo. Your system would work well though if we started out knowing nothing and had to learn stuff from scratch.

I can understand new players would find it extremely tough at the moment but perservere. You will find the right way to go about things through trial and error and when you find your first big stash of good loot you will feel a million dollars. You can lose Zeds by getting them to lose their line of sight, I had a train of about 15 on me and by running through buildings and around walls i lost all but two. Of course you still need a weapon, but once you find one (anyone at first will do) you will be OK. Until you get sniped from 800m.

Not gonna happen -this mod needs to go forward not backward. Maybe a few things will get removed but i hope there wont be a full scale rollback.

They can definitely be worth it, but you have to be quick - as in dont hang around once you find some good loot. -
From what Rocket said i imagine most player made buildings/camps will be underground and instanced. I suppose the reason being so the landscape doesnt become full of player made camps and also this could prevent players from ghosting in. Though this wouldnt stop bandits from camping nearby.

What about the need for fresh socks? Try running around the wilderness for 5 days without a change of socks and/or shoes your feet become one big mushroom - trench foot i think it is called.

Well said - you should get stoned more often. Respawning in this game is a blessing - it allows you to try a different gamestyle, tactic, you name it. At first you feel you have nothing to lose and that freedom quickly turns to paranoia once you get enought gear that you fear losing it. To be honest once i reach a certain level (equipment wise) the enjoyment drains for me. Now each new respawn i try something different, even if it only lasts for 15 minutes. -
Sounds cool, also being able to tell how long a fire was put out if you come across a fireplace.
