  1. This is the new added realism. Loot spawns once only and when gone doesnt respawn, just like real life. Pretty soon the whole area will be farmed out, ammo will run out and we will all be left with hatchets and the only available food will be from gutted animals. :D Lets see everyone survive in that world!
  2. Yeah i can see how them being the same speed indoors as outdoors would probably cause issues, but them being faster than a walk sounds better. Harder to kill means more realistic in my opinion.
  3. Being in Australia i wont be able to log on - shame. Surely the music for your video should have been "Fucking Hostile" by Pantera??
  4. Sounds interesting i hope to try this mod out soon. I totally agree on the weapon removals you have implemented - i would even go further but that's just me. In my view most survivors should be grateful to find an Enfield and be ecstatic when they get their greedy, untrained mits on an AK. Ammo should be rare and be the most valuable commodity in the apocalypse. Dont know if i have missed a changelog or one of your comments but what are the chances of zombies not grinding to a halt and walking whenever they attack or enter buildings? Make zombies run in buidlings and the zombie fear factor increases substantially. Good job.

    2 Suggestions for loot system

    I like the idea of loot spawning in places rather than on floors - tables, cupboards, bodies etc I am not too sure about the any loot having a chance to spawn anywhere idea, but if there were a valid reason ie: a dead soldier's body found in a residential home then why not?
  12. Like it but too many matches spawn. Every loot pile in Elektro for me. I realise matches would be common but i got sick of the sight of them. Perhaps spawn with matches? Or make them spawn on zombies only? Pedantic i know. Apart from that very nice indeed!

  14. This is just a question to those who may know. In DayZ there is a huge variety of weaponry available and this is because it is a mod of a military simulator. In real life what kind of weapons would one expect to find in homes, barns and barracks? I understand that Americans will have more variety than say Australians and Europeans because the only place you would ever find legal guns in Oz is at places like police stations, army bases and possibly farmhouses. What i am getting at is what types of weapons can we realistically expect to find scattered around after an apocalypse situation?

    I suppose if bullets did eventually run out we would still have the know how to make musket type weapons. Not ideal for zombies swarming all over you though.
  16. I would love to see a version of DayZ and a few servers do this. Setting finite resources would simulate things a lot more closely than having the Loot Fairy fritter about from barn to barn spreading Lee Enfields wherever she goes. Imagine finding a high end gun but knowing that once those bullets are gone you may never find bullets for it again. Would that person camp on a hill and snipe away? Supermarkets would run out of tins and eventually the only food would be animals (which could be limited, though not finite as well) I would play this, just for the experiment rather than anything else.     DayZ Weapons - A Question?

    How do you make your own ammo? Lots of interesting stuff coming out - i never thought about how much ammo would be stockpiled around the world, but it makes sense. Does ammo go bad at all or would it take years?
  18. Just had a run through - awesome stuff! Hung around Elektro and there were literally a 1000 zombies on the server. It was epic looking out across Elektro from the fire station tower and seeing Zeds everywhere. Also at present most people were friendly - this may have something to do with Zeds being a big problem to deal with. Few things to report: I think the zeds can hear the hatchet - me and 2 others were literally in the church for 15 minutes axing to death wave upon wave of zeds with our hatchets. They just kept coming so we eventually had to run for it. Things got a bit laggy with so many zeds but i suppose thats to be expected a bit. My ping was quite high so it may have been my issue as well. Lots of vehicles - in my hour long play i got a lift in a Little Bird, drove a UAZ and tried to help refuel a Chinook. Awesome. Great job and cant wait for more updates.
