    When you say meaner, are you suggesting they say mean things as they are chasing you? "With an ass like that how do you expect to outrun me?" "I want to eat your brains but it looks like its only gonna be a light snack" "You either eat a lot of beans or you've just shat yourself" Or is it a rip your arm off and beat you to death with it kind of mean?

    Standalone suggestions

    I can undertand people's ideas and need for Safe Zones but i think these safe zones should be player created. You want to make Cherno safe? Barricade a section off and defend it. There shouldnt be any game created safe areas, and especially not areas made safe by hi tech gadgets like Auto turrets. Put players on lookout if you want to make the area safer. Unfortunately despite all the best efforts of making a zone safe the problem of ghosting makes surface safe zones obsolete. Would they work if a player could just server hop inside your safe zone and drop a grenade on the floor? I think that is why bases will be instanced and put underground. Bases can be attacked and taken over but only in the server they have been created in and only through valid entrances. No one will be able to server hop in. Truth be told, i would love to come across an area that has been fortified and protected and allows players to trade under the watchful eye of player guards, but i dont think it is feasible in the mod's current state. A few have tried and so far all have been hacked, attacked or had choppers flown into them.

    Playing as a zombie?

    In response to the OP suggestion: Interesting but i dont think its gonna happen - zombies are not dead people in this game, they are Infected and we as survivors are immune (according to Rocket). If he takes away the immunity then i suppose it could be possible to play as an Infected - you would slowly change over time until your character became yet another AI, possibly needing to feed on people etc. I dunno, just waffling. I love the "Sorry if this has been said already" comments by the way. Reminds me of when people say "No disrespect, but....", followed by a reason why that person is a complete fuckwit. :)

  10. I had a run through the mod last night. Very nice - one comment though, it may have just been me but i came across dozens of the little vest pouches and crowbars in Cherno. Almost every building i entered had at least one. In one apartment i counted 6 crowbars! Also how are zombies supposed to react to gunshots? If i can hear someone firing shouldnt the zombies as well? I heard loud gunfire and zombies seemed to just wander around as if deaf, yet if i walk across a road 10 come storming after me! I understand this is a DayZ thing and not your modification.

  14. If you are going to slow the zombies down then i suggest making players fatigue after running for a certain length of time. Someone had mentioned zombies reacting more to gunshots. I reckon if you fire an Enfield in Cherno every zombie should home in on that position. This feature could even be used to draw zombies away from areas if you are in groups. Do zombies react to flashlights at all? If not i think they should.

    Have you ever tried opening a can without a can opener? I suppose if you were starving you would just hatchet it to death or stab it. It would take a bit longer and be messier. I sort of suggested this in jest when someone had a thread of Ultra Hard Core ideas for DayZ. But the more i thought about it the more evil i thought it would be if you found a can, were starving, but couldnt open it.

    I havent experienced that yet but the other night i was playing near Cherno when i saw a bunny, sitting upright, on the road. I approached and an option to Give Food came up. I admit i was playing a modded version but it did seem odd. I gave food but the bunny didnt appear too pleased with a tin of beans. Perhaps you can tame these beasts and have them as followers - a killer rabbit would come in use. I have seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail!
  18. Just had a run on your server - great work guys! The street lighting is a great addition. The fact you can turn it off at power stations and even shoot out the lights adds a new dimension. Great playing with you - they got me in the end!!

    Speed shouldnt be based on boots, but possibly the sound could be. Heavy Boots = Loud Ballerina Slipper = Soft and graceful

    We all know karate allows you to "Wax on wax off" and "Paint-a fence" or "Scrub-a floor" not chop food items. Base construction - yeah, food preparation - no. PS: Karate Kid (1984), not the newer one.
  24. Refilling magazines is a good idea. Refillable blood bags though? I'm not a big fan of blood bags to begin with - totally unrealistic in my view. Would anyone out there know how to administer a blood bag properly? But then again we can fix military grade choppers by hand without the need of tools, so why not. DayZ needs to be harsher not easier. What you are proposing means you just have to carry an empty blood bag and as long as you have friends you can just top each other up in between finding some meat. Bleeding in DayZ should be a life threatening situation, what with infections and gangrene and such. Being able to magically top up your blood with blood bags and meat is BS to me. Blood should be a timer for how long you have left in game. Get into a firefight and be brought down to 1000 blood - well stiff shit mate you aint got long to live. No magical cow steaks should save your ass. My opinion, that's all.
