The reason behind it was the Thermal i think. Too much of an advantage. I actually dont mind these types of guns spawning very very rarely but the problem was the duping.

It would also be nice if zombies didnt just spawn when players are approaching a town as well. I know this would be a drain on the system but the whole "There are zombies, there must be a player here!" scenario gets on my tits.

I really think certain guns (ie snipers) need to reflect how hard it is to snipe. I know Arma has bullet drop but there is no thought for wind, etc. I also assume that once you fire one of these babies, snapping right back to your original scoped point takes time and is not instantaneous, unless of course you are prone and the gun is on the ground, IDK. Adding weight to objects, as well as volume could really help matters in terms of realistically packing things away. I always wonder where the Rotor blade i picked up is when i am running through the forest

I agree, Choppers should be hard to fly. And fix.

A question for you guys. Thinking about the situation, whereby we are an unarmed survivor washed up on a beach - i am assuming of course that we arent military, but who knows, we seem to be able to fire any weapon and fix any vehicle. Could a run of the mill person (not a trained soldier) carry an AS-50 in a backpack, an Mk 48, and a G17, along with all the other gear you pick up? Is this feasible? Because it it is then i have no worries. And the other question is how easy is it for a non military person to pick up one of these weapons and fire it, let alone aim? I'm just trying to gauge how realistic having these weapons is, that's all, and you guys seem to be the ones who'd know. I know its a game and having cool guns is great, but i'd still like things to be realistic.

Fair enough points from Bansidhe, but it all comes down to preference. I tried to be a dirty, noob killing bandit once but i found that i just didnt have the heart for it. As i got players in my scope i would find myself just watching to see what they did rather than shoot them...i must be a voyeur. Now i kill only when necessary. Lets face it though, without the threat of bandits or getting popped at any time DayZ wouldnt be the same at all. I applaud bandits who are a bit more original than the simple 'sit on a hill and snipe' brigade.

One of the main points of DayZ was the fact you had one life, and once it was gone you started again. With all the private servers floating about you suddenly find yourself with multiple characters. So for me i have a different character for each map. But i think for the Standalone it will be back to one character only again, at least i hope so, multiple characters on the same map/server just cheapens death and lessens the effect of starting over. My opinion only though.

After lobbing a grenade, the player has to nonchalantly walk away with his back turned to the explosion. Players getting shot and killed whilst atop a building have to fall even if they have to walk to the edge and throw themselves off. They will always land on a car. All dams must leak and break at some stage.
