It was a long time ago, but i remember this guy ran into the barracks i was plundering, bringing a huge zombie train behind him. As i could hear him scream "Hey man don't shoot!" i unloaded my AKM into his face. I would have felt bad but man those zombies were endless.

It was way back when DayZ first started so back then who knows? It could have been dropped by a player (don't know why you would) but i was pretty pleased nethertheless. I have only found a few since and all in military areas.

You don't get the concept of an Urban Legend do you? Where there are people there are always 'stories' or whispers of what lives in the woods, mountains, in a lake etc. Open world games will have similar stories. It is human nature, but more importantly a bit of harmless fun. Tell you what, go to Green Mountain at 3am and report back what you found.....or just leave this thread alone. Up to you.

I love the Cherno-Elektro trail. You can get almost everything you need. You can usually pick up an ALICE pack in Cherno and if you are lucky a decent weapon in the military tents or fire station. I found a GPS in a church once but that was a while ago now.

Do cans and bottles smash hospital windows? Strangely i have never tried this.

Yeah i've done this a few times - not sure how many PC's you can do it on but i've done it at least 4 times.

Yet again i am bored at work. I would like to propose a series of challenges (any others please add) to all those playing DayZ. Please provide hard evidence of these challenges being met - i will not take your word for it. Links to videos if possible. Just for a bit of fun, i challenge someone, anyone to: 1. On a highly populated server run up and down the NW Airfield runway with a huge zombie train in tow. At least 5 laps required. A shame this cannot be done naked. 2. Standing atop the Elektro Powerhouse tower snipe as many players as possible before being killed. 3. Sneak up and kill a bandit sniper. You can only use a Hatchet. 4. Kill a 'famous' Youtuber or Games Reviewer. 5. Get a huge clan/group of friends together and whilst slowly walking side by side in a line attempt to clear out Cherno / Elektro / Any Big City of anything and anyone. No hacking, no alt f4-ing. Any others? Back to work i suppose!

Cans and bottles should already distract zombies but i haven't tried it out myself. Having more distractions is a good idea - raw meat, a live bandit you have captured - little things like that.

Poppet is okay. I prefer Pumpkin, or Sweetcheeks.

Just to clarify - this is in an Alpha stage, not beta. Many features will be added to the initial release.

Randomness sounds good in that you could come across planes, helis, ambulances, bean trucks, coke vans etc but the idea of the players being notified seems a bit...odd. Who would do the notifying? God?

I hope underground bases consist of a hole, some timbers and a tarp over the top. James Bond Villain super bases seem a tad unreal. Working toilets? A hole and some lime sprinkled over it would be the limit. If people think they and 10 people will be able to construct the Umbrella Corps underground lair i fear they could be disappointed.

When and where has anyone been told stfu? Funnily enough the Forum mods and Day Z Devs do understand this is the best place to get information - hence the Q&A with Matt.

I am not saying that sounds aren't important, in fact they add to the game immensely. Just that i think that at this stage in the SA's development sound may be down the list of priorities. Once the engine is stable and the overall architecture of DayZ is intact then things like sound can be improved upon. I am sure someone is on the case anyhow.

We aren't all gun savvy. To me a magazine is what you read and a clip is what you get at the barbers. Bullets is all i know.

No - what this might mean is the closed alpha testers get the game free, while everyone else will pay a one off $24 / 18 Euros when it is released publicly. I haven't heard anything officially.
