I like Taviana, but you should check the 2017 mod out. Real survival, hobo style.....unless you like guns because the Enfield is about as good as it gets. -

Yep, we've all been there but is this any reason to quit and take a pop at the Devs? Hacking was/is a major problem in the Public Hives and Rocket has acknowledged this - hence the lock down of things in the SA. The advice is simple, play on private, preferably whitelisted servers and your hacking problems should go away......unless, armed with an axe, i see you in game. -

Changing In-Game Name

Load up a game in DayZ When you get to the part about Connecting, instead cancel - this will take you to a menu where you can select Player Profile. In Player profile choose edit or New. Close down and restart. Your new/edited profile should be on view for you to connect with. -
I'd like to see Zeds just rush into the water and start swimming arms all flailing rather than a nice casual breast stroke.

You might not particularly like their style but some of the early Youtubers really brought DayZ to the attention of a lot of people. I first saw a video last May and thought "I have to play this game!" I was hooked before i'd even downloaded the actual mod. -

I'm not suggesting the dead bodies become zombies, but that dead bodies spawn zeds, much like when you approach a building zeds spawn when you get close. So as you approach your corpse you find 5-6 zombies close to it or munching on it. Something along those lines anyway. Like you say i think we need to wait for SA and see what happens.

Was pinned down by bandits at the NW airfield. They had taken pot shots at me while i was in the barracks. After a while i got fed up waiting so, armed with my Mk48, i ran outside, Rambo style, spraying bullets in all directions, screaming on Direct as i did. I died. -

I would like consequences to be an even bigger part of DayZ. Death should be the ultimate hassle, not a slight inconvenience. I wouldn't want any sort of respawn timer though. Perhaps a solution could be that dead bodies can spawn zombies - so as you rush off back to your body with no weapon on hand you suddenly find 6 zombies chowing down on your old corpse? If your mates are guarding your body then have zombies spawn close by after a few minutes, just to make it interesting? I don't know, i'm rambling a bit now, but my point is - Death should be something you want to avoid at all costs. The problem for the devs is how to implement such a thing into a video game.

DayZ Commander (how to check if a server is hive or not)

:facepalm: Well if you have somehow managed to get onto WarZ through DayZ Commander then i am sorry for you. If you log onto another server that isn't a public server then you will starts afresh. To carry on with that character you need to log in to the same server each time. In DayZ Commander you can see if it is a public server because the private ones have a little X icon (i think?) -
That would be an issue. If someone found your base while you had logged out and proceeded to destroy it then what would happen to the player? I agree killing them is a bit harsh. It is a definite issue that needs to be addressed before bases are implemented.
