Hmmm, have to agree. That nice little circle does look odd. Perhaps there should be a small crater or blackened ground instead of a nice circle so all the loot can be snapped up easily.

I have never seen Inspector Rex but i do know us Aussies get attached to random foreign shows, long after they have finished in their country of origin. When i was a lad we were all hooked on a show called Monkey (from China) and The Goodies. As for all this talk about suppressing our opinions just because we are moderators. I don't consider my opinion on matters to hold anymore weight than anyone else just because my name is blue. We don't hold any official opinions on any matter - we aren't part of the DayZ Dev team or staff, we just voluntarily man the forums. I consider these forums quite a fun and open place and i think the mods and everyone else makes that so. If mods became Robo-Mods and lay down the law at every infraction this forum would die. As Fraggle said, Rocket would rather this forum be the Wild West than Big Brother (the book, not the frigging show!). I just consider myself part of the DayZ community and pretty much behave exactly the same as i did when i was a forum poster - i just have to bite my tongue every now and then and try not to be a complete dick. If you use it to gain an advantage over another player (ie: giving the whereabouts of a bandit's location after he just shot you) how can this not be deemed 'cheating' by that bandit?

Let's face it, if the SA is released too early there will be a shitstorm on this forum, reddit and elsewhere. Some people understand the concept of an Alpha but most don't and by paying for a game they will expect certain things to be right. If the Devs aren't happy to release their game yet, who are we to jump up and down and demand? It could be argued that Youtubers have a vested interest in the SA being released as soon as possible regardless whether it is ready or not. Footage of SA gameplay will boost their views massively. More views = more money. Everybody got time for dat!

I do like the idea of there being stashes of goods (overturned trucks with food, an abandoned army convoy, ambulances,etc etc) scattered around the map but i am not too keen on the notification aspect of your idea. Things should be found through exploration not notification, after all it is the apocalypse with the only survivors being players so i don't think using rumours would be realistic.

Rocket has mentioned that efforts to contact some of these companies has not been answered so it looks as though we will see non-brand names for food and drink unless permission is given. As far as weapon's names go i am not sure. How old is Lee Enfield, Mr Winchester and Mikail Kalashnikov anyway?

^^^^^ That's right. If implemented and i get sniped by someone hiding 1000m away i will be liable to say "Great shot!" instead of "You bastard!" Or maybe "Great shot, you bastard!"

I like the idea of harvesting - picking apples of trees and maybe getting myself one of those huge pumpkins you see lying around. Not too sure about eating bugs though, especially if there is still food around to be found.
