  1. Is meaning that the Helicopter they were flying has crashed and exploded. Is indicating that when he ejected from the Helicopter it automaticly deploys a Parachute when above 100m and he was going West. There are different models in the game that have to go with the direction you are Parachuting. How would it look if you were Parachuting West but when you looked @ the Parachute it was pointing East or North? lol. It has to match the direction the player is going or it'd look funny & the game logs it. These logs are legit and there is no hacking of any kind here that I can see. Actually, you are horribly wrong. Edit: Feel free to try this yourself. ParachuteWest is a USMC personnel parachute. Not the direction you're looking when you jump. You won't see a damn thing with a proper bypass running.
  2. I didn't post anything last night as I wanted to see if it was just a coincidence or not. Last night, our group of 6 was trekking around Chernarus in a random forest, when all of a sudden, we all get broken bones. We were spread out by about 80 meters. We all shout the normal, WTF MATE!? We use our morphine. Not 1 minute later, it happens again. By now, I'm thinking "OMG HAXXXXOR". So, we kill the server and let it sit for about 5 minutes while reviewing the logs. Initially, we were thinking it was just desync on the hive, and for one reason or another, when the hive caught back up, it broke our bones due to elevation changes, etc. After the second instance, we were leaning more towards a troll hack. I thought about it for a few minutes and wondered if someone has figured out a way to hack/exploit the bear traps. No blood was ever lost, just random broken bones. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? We have a player name who we believe may have been responsible, but along with CCP's generic support staff response: "Our logs show nothing" (EVE inside joke).

  5. The "flashing" you all see is an incompatability message. It is basically saying that YOU are running a newer version of DayZ_code than the server. If you look hard in the middle of the screen, there should be a small, faint two lines of text. Edit: Copper, I see there is no text on the screen...thank you for the video. Typically, if you join a server running an older version of dayz_code, you get that exact flashing, but it will also have the faded text in the middle of the screen.

    An-2 Colt (Large Biplane)

As was stated earlier, aircraft only have one "health" characteristic, which is "Hull". With that being said, I am still completely FOR this idea. I <3 flying the AN-2 like a stunt plane (full vertical stalls/drifting...it is a fun aircraft to pilot).

    Streaming DayZ Issues

What is your broadcast resolution set at? You are probably (for lack of a better word) raping your CPU. On the main XSplit Broadcaster window, select "View - Resolution - XXXX x XXX (your resolution here) Also, "View - Frame rate - XX.XX fps (your frame rate) I run an Phenom II X6 processor, and I typically broadcast at 480p to prevent CPU bottlenecking (854 x 480 resolution) and frame rate of 25 fps. Also, in your channel settings: VBV Max Bitrate: 3000 *Same as buffer This is really high. Also, it means any of your viewers need to be able to "downstream" up to 3 Mbit/s to watch without lagging. I can broadcast a crystal-clear 720p (1280 x 720) feed with VBV Max Bitrate: 2800. For 480p, I use VBV Max Bitrate of 1800. It gives your viewers a nice video quality, without them needing an awesome connection. Hope some of this will help you out.

GUIDE: How to still play with 1.7.2

Instead of creating another thread, I will hi-jack this one with a DIFFERENT method of rolling back to 1.7.1.5 : (method MIGHT require Windows 7 w/ system restores active) Direct your file browser to your Arma II Operation Arrowhead installation directory Open the @dayz mod folder Open the "addons" folder Right click on "dayz_code.pbo" Select "Restore previous versions" IF you have a previous version listed in the restore point window, highlight it by clicking on it once. Select the "Copy..." button. Paste it and over-write the original file. Repeat the process for the file "dayz_code.pbo.dayz.bisign" Launch the game and join any server running 1.7.1.5

    Spawning In Novy Sobor? (Fixed)

The Novy Sobor spawn is legit, although the probability (of getting this spawn) is very low. I believe the issue is the spawn placement inside the building. setPos is wrong...hence why you spawn on the terrain level instead of the building/object floor. It is easy to get out by vaulting through the exterior wall, but still needs to be fixed at some point.

Buddy System - Web Devs GOGO!

This might be viable in the short-term. But imagine if/when the group got to 1' date='000 or even 10,000 people. Your steam group chat window would never stop blinking/popping up. It would just be a mess, and you never know who is currently looking to join a game of Dayz NOW. That is completely your decision. I can refer you to at least 5 websites that require GUID's to participate. Perhaps there is another viable alternative. The reasoning behind this is to prevent player "A" from killing everyone in his party, then changing his name to player "DF" to avoid being known. That is all part of the immersion. Maybe you don't know ANYONE in RL or online that plays DayZ. Maybe you don't want to join a group, but you also don't want to play alone. Perhaps you enjoy playing with random survivors every night! If one of them betrays you, you report them on the website. Does this completely circumvent back-stabbing? Of course not! You could play with someone for 2 weeks every night, getting all of the best gear in the game. Then, on the 15th day, you backstab the group and take everything. Or one of the other members does the same to you. This person/you get your marks on the website...makes it harder for you to find another group. The marks could possibly even fade away after some amount of time (2 weeks, no bad reports, you lose a strike). You can never fully trust someone, yet you don't have to run around looking for someone who doesn't shoot you to enjoy a team/group atmosphere.

Buddy System - Web Devs GOGO!

Once your party/group is on comms' date=' you can search for a server with enough free slots, and everyone in the party joins that server. It's the same way clan mates/other groups join the same server currently. BattlEye uses your full GUID for anti-cheat measures. Providing GUIDs for anti-cheat measures has been around for 10+ years, and by MANY heavily-populated competitive gaming websites. A "safe" measure, while still being able to identify a persons character, is to provide for ex. the last 8 digits from the GUID. This way, you are still identifiable, but your FULL GUID is not stored on any database.

Buddy System - Web Devs GOGO!

I thoroughly enjoy playing DayZ. I am also fortunate enough to have numerous RL/e-friends to game with in groups. However, I know MANY people do not. They struggle playing solo, trying to find a "friendly in Cherno?" to meet up with...often resulting in their very demise. So, I've had this idea and the knowledge to do what I am about to explain, but I simply do not have the time to dedicate to the project at this time. I figured I would pass the general idea out here for someone who has the skills and can possibly see the vision. THE CONCEPT: Create an interactive website where people can register their player accounts (secure, yet identifiable - more on this below). The general database will store not only individual player names, but also have a "groups" function. Players "A through Z" register on the site. Player "A" forms a new group called "The Cherno Survivors". Player "B" sees that player "A" is online, and strikes up a chat on the website. They chat for a few minutes, and player "B" decides he wants to join "The Cherno Survivors" group. Player "C" is online and also decides to join the group. They exchange comms info/etc, and all three meet up to find a server together. Player "D" doesn't want to join a group just yet, but he would like to meet up with some fellow survivors. He posts a real-time "temporary party" request. Player "E" logs on to the website, he also does not want to join a specific group just yet. He sees the active party request, and accepts to join. Players "D" and "E" chat/exchange comms info through the party chat system, and they both go on their merry way to find a server together. Ten minutes go by, and player "F" logs on to the website. He wants to join a temporary party with some fellow survivors. He contemplates putting his own "temporary party" request up, but instead accepts the open temporary party posted by player "D". Player "D" gets a subtle audible ping through the website. After finding a safe place to tab out, player "D" allows player "F" into the party, gives him comms info, and player "F" now joins their party. Player "D" decides that 3 is enough, so he removes his active party request. GENERAL: For those familiar with competitive gaming and the likes, this is in ways a sort of "scrim/war/ladder" style system. Players can log on to the site, find a party for the night or join a group and play with the same group night after night. The groups can have info pages detailing the location/hours in which they typically play/etc. SECURITY: The player database system would have a secure identifiable feature to each player, as well as a ranking system. Most likely the players IN GAME GUID would be securely stored in the database to prevent ghosting/smurfing. If you are involved in a party/group, and one of the players goes rouge and shoots all of you, you come back to the website and report the player. Each report will count as 1 strike. This way, when you attempt to join a party or prior to accepting a party request, you can see that player "T" has 0 strikes...or player "R" has 3 strikes. In this sense, you can simply choose not to party with that person. I honestly see this taking off and being a very successful addition to DayZ. If someone feels like taking off with the idea, you are free to do so. I have many other ideas to go along with this system, but wanted to put the general concept out there for others to see. I can be reached through PM here, or add me on steam "Austex" if you want to chat about it. (Steam profile pic is Papa Smurf!)
  13. YES (but) VISUAL NOT NEEDED! AUDIBLE noise heard by players/zeds from 0-100 meters. I am a bandit and I want this.
  14. YES I'll just do the zombie sprint to the nearest city, ditching the zeds on the first player I come across.
