Awful I know, but let's be frank, there are folks out there, maybe you if you were hungry enough that would butcher, cook and eat other survivors. It would of course send your humanity plummeting to new depths maybe irretrievably but wouldn't it add some extra horror? Perhaps adding a freshness factor could spice things up a bit, new kill no problem, if the corpse has been lying around in the sun for a few hours food poisoning, and if the corpse was killed by zombies you get the infection and you die, might make even the sickest members of our community think twice before roasting up a bit of human.

You are right, it would take a bit of work, but i'm sure a battery meter indicator on each electrical item could be added easily enough, it would also be quite simple to work out power usage too and lets be honest, if there really was a zombie apocalypse, after food, water and ammo batteries would be a key commodity in the wastelands economy of necessity. Plus, despite this being a mod in alpha stage it is by far the best and most realistic zombie game ever concieved - i'm sure the dev team will want to improve even further on the feeling of reality they have crafted so well. Therefore it could be considered necessary.

Accidentally posted this in the competition thread, sorry moderators. All electric gadgets like torches, NVG's, GPS etc running on batteries would force players to think about how and when to use them and add another layer of realism

Yesterday I spawned by the coast, about 500 metres west of Kamenka, and right there on the beach was a truck. I went prone and crawled up the slope to get a better vantage point and spotted a player running into the town away from me and the truck. Assuming it was the proud owner i waited till he was out of sight and then nicked the truck. This is the first time I'd been in control of a vehicle in dayz, it was to be a day of firsts. Once i'd got it about 4 km away nestled in the woods I jumped out and checked it for gear - my jaw hit the floor when i saw all the goodies, GPS, ghillie suit, AS50 and tons of ammo, NVG's, rangefinders, military torch, grenades, mp5sd (no ammo) and a nice Alice pack. Bearing in mind I have never found any of these items before to get them all at once was pretty pleasing and almost assuaged my guilt at having stolen the truck.in the first place. I had such a great 5 or 6 hours, sniping zombies without worrying about ammo running out, eating and drinking as soon as my indicators looked a little oin the pink side, i even had my first trade swapping my old AK74 for some MP5SD ammo and revelled in the joy that is silenced weaponry in a zombie infested city. eventually I thought I'd take a break and popped downstairs to eat. Refreshed and full of anticipation for the evenings session I relogged and thought I'd get my characters blood level back to 12000, while sitting in TMW's teamspeak lobby a player spawned right in front of me, he yelled 'banzai' over chat and pumped me full of lead - game over. I'm guessing he was a hacker. I stayed on the server and as i was planning on meeting a medic I knew my corpses precise location, of course i re-spawned on the North east coast and it took me over an hour to find the spot, by which time it was night on the server and when i finally found it everything was gone. Karma it seems wasn't going to let me just steal another players truck without making me suffer acoordingly. lesson learned.

Rhino, you glimpsed a part of yourself that exists within all human beings, the capacity to do wrong, to profit at others expense. Don't worry about it and for gods sake stop over analyzing yourself - that way madness lies. It is possible to be an ok, balanced member of society who allows his darker urges free reign in a virtual world - better that than in the real world. Let your demons play and let it out of your system in an environment where no real harm can be done. Take away the liars, thieves, murdering bandits from this incredible game and it will lose what makes it a truly unique gaming experience - that palpable fear and paranoia we all feel when we hear a distant gunshot. Love your vids dude, hero or villain keep it up

this sighted AK comes with 2 full clips plus half a mag in the weapon I would like 5 full mp5 SD clips in return for the gun and 2 clips for the AK mags. total 7 clips.

hey, i have played Arma and Arma 2 for a long time so I'm up to speed with the map, weapons, vehicles and mechanics etc but still have a bit to learn as far as DayZ goes. I have enjoyed playing solo but feel i'm now ready to hook up with other players to share the experience and improve my overall game play. I'm a relative noob, am in cherno with 3000 blood left, vision nearly gone and although i don't have a great deal of stuff, i have more than i ever scavenged before. Would really appreciate some assistance, i have searched everywhere for the hospital but haven't found it yet. If someone could meet me on a uk server during the day and patch me up i'd be very much obliged. Love what you guys are doing, unfortunately all my attempts to make friends in DayZ have resulted in my being brutally murdered, looking forward to seeing a friendly face in game. yours nervously but hopefully - Noddy
