    3D model extracting

Hi guys Might be a bit too early too start getting into this sort of stuff, but as I do 3D modelling for fun, I find it a great way to get creative and pass some free time. The only request I have is - has anyone extracted the female and male underwear models from the game yet? Why? Because I use them as bases to build clothes upon. I'm not really good when it comes to importing/exporting arms models, but basically I need to know if it's possible at the moment for any modders out there. I checked the Bohemia forums, with no luck. Thanks

    Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.113860

are injured animations not ready or something?
  3. Maybe have it that if you die, you are forced to play a character of the opposite gender for 2 hours. Then you'll have to kill that character to play as the gender you want. Massive inconvenience. Or maybe have your character walk a slugged pace for 20 minutes after respawning. I don't know
  4. That would make sense... If hair pulling was a feature. Until then, I'm an advocate for long hairstyles, ESPECIALLY side braids. I like the idea of organically having developed skills. Like cutting a can with an axe becomes more precise. Depending on your diet, your stamina becomes better. As long as you take good care of your character and 'teach' them things, I don't see how it would be bad to have limited skills naturally developed. Maybe the longer you play thru different seasons, they come slightly more adaptable to the climate and get sick less? I don't know. As for the women and the beard thing... I'm happy with slightly longer hair.

    Player Movement/Movement in General

The only thing I wish this game had in terms of movement is ledge grabbing/wall climbing

    Loss of colors, new character.

Happened to my game and i'm not sure why. I think because i was sick

    Sick (in-game) need help

I just shot myself in the head and looted my old character. The text said I was feeling better after a while, but my screen was overwhelmingly blurry and grey. In saying that, shortly before I was given a blood infusion that probably wasn't a blood type match

    How to gain blood?

I kinda agree with this, but hey... Once we get use to it, it could become a good feature. If it continues to be annoying, then get it out. In saying that, can we also nab blood from a deceased body?

A Lot of Negative Nancys out there

Ehhh, I wouldnt stress about the negative nancies. It happens in every game, over anything. That's like saying "there's mean girls at school and they're being so mean". Just part of life, in every aspects. Whatever people say, at least the game can grow from it so look at it as a positive.
  10. Too be honest, I haven't had a massive issue with the unconsciousness. In saying that, I mainly hung around Elektro and Cherno with my friend, only falling unconscious due to loss of blood. If it's half as bad as people make it out to be, I agree it should be fixed. Especially since the default run isn't really a run, more of a jog. A paced jog should be able to last a well fed and rested person quite a while before getting to fainting extremities. The main issue I found was how bad the screen becomes when sick/low on blood. It becomes overwhelmingly unplayable, barely being able to see anything which is annoying. I think clothing SHOULD be fairly common, considering everyone should have more than one pair of pants and a shirt in the wardrobe, per person, per house. The main issue should be finding GOOD clothing. I really hope they expand the outfit selection though, however, I don't like having 'typical survivor clothing' as the only option... I mainly just want a plumbers jumpsuit :P

    Custom Models for Mod

I was wondering if the mod leaders would be interested in implementing a custom model I've made for the mod? Unfortunately I don't rig, nor do I import into the game, however I believe there would be talented people in the community able to do this. I've fixed her to the ARMA II Skeleton, so there shouldn't be any dramas there. I've also tried to make her as 'broad' as possible without looking masculine so she'd have the same dimensions (somewhat) as male models. She is considerably a lot less poly's then the average arma 2 model as well, so that is also a bonus. I also want to make more models for the mod, granted that interest has been sparked

    Custom Models for Mod

Good questions. She's just over 9k poly's, and I believe the arma ones (excluding the head) is around 11k? So she's pretty good. She doesn't have a lot of detail like a vest, belt, pouches, helmet, etc. but she's as detailed as possible with her given outfit. The texture resolution is 2048x2048 but all her textures (face, hair, clothes, etc) are on the one texture file, with obviously the spec an normal map being on others. My main concern with that was does arma support 2048x2048 textures? I'm assuming it would as it's a PC orientated game. I'd appreciate anyone who could enlighten me about that. And thanks for the good words and how to contact the leader. I sent him a PM a couple of days ago... I suppose I didn't use the best means of contact
  13. Well no one likes being called wannabes or pussies... :p to be honest, is option 3 even viable? Do people really just like playing third person for only exploiting the view? I know I don't...
  14. What people need to realise is there's no right or wrong way in playing the game, it just comes down to preference. As long as people have the option to play it there own way with people like them, then what's the issue? I believe the wall peeking aspect of third person does need some work. In saying that, I find third person far more immersive. I see my character in the world, I see how they react. If I'm injured, visually, I can see that and it puts me in a tense mode. If they are shot, I can see where I got shot since I can't feel it. Seeing my avatar in rags immerses me into the world. First person makes me feel sick and doesn't give me as much senses as I would in the real world. People have a right to their opinion, but people do not have the right to tell me when, how and why I am immersed and allowed to experience something. This issue will be fixed. Even if the game sticks with just third and first person only servers, 6 months after release, no one will care. Everyone will have realised they can stick to what they love and find comfort in their own environment
  15. Don't mistaken me, I'm not getting worked up. But seriously, you don't want consenting adults to make their own decision...? Jeez, its like the australian game classifications all over again :p I just don't understand why you don't want people to play their own way. Given that there is going to be first person only servers, the option to completely ignore the people who have made the TPV choice, etc. why do you not want people to have choice? Is that not like saying 'I don't want there to be survival horror games because I believe shooters should be the only genre available'? I'm genuinely asking because I really want to know what your answer is when you have the option not to expose yourself to anothe persons choice.
  16. Well... I really don't understand your logic. You are GETTING first person only servers. No one is forcing you to not play on them. If you can't find people on first person only servers when standalone is released, then you know what most people desire... And who are you to tell them they can't have what they desire? I mean, you can't really complain cause you've got what you want as well... The only difference is, we won't be punished by your hypocrisy and selfishness.Seriously, have an equal amount of first person and third person official dedicated servers and be done with it. The server owners of private servers have every right to decide what they want, just like you do and just like I do. It's not hard people. I really feel like peoples entitlement is over complicating things
  17. Yes, but then you get the issue of corner exploiting without having gone into combat yet. Or you know there's a player around cause you suddenly go first person. It'd make exploiting easier
  18. Why don't they make mandatory polls before you start playing/prior to character creation? That way the people actually playing are having to give feedback. Just a pop-up with 'Do you prefer: third person, first person, both'?. I wouldn't limit it to just the TPV/FPV of course. It's an effective way to get everyone's opinions who are currently playing the game without flooding it with interested people who don't even have the game yet. Perhaps an 'additional comments' section
  19. Why would I need to provide you with code...? I'm not a coder. But seeing as other games prove it's possible... Well, proof is in the pudding ;) and it's effective. Cameras are clientside, so it's more than possible, it doesn't matter how big the world is. If my camera effected your game somehow, then we got a problem. Regardless of how 'easy' it is to turn TPV off, it only accommodates YOUR needs, not everyone's. selfish. Tsk tsk. I could easily say it's easy to turn of first person :o
  20. ... Why? It would be clientside, not serverside. Me playing third person or having a dynamic camera isn't visible to you, nor does it effect your game, so why would it be loaded to the server?
  21. I don't understand why people are over thinking this... Have an equal amount of TPV and FPS only servers. That way there is fairness in the playing field, and it'll be easily monitored on who likes what more. I've suggested it many of times, I'm not sure why it's not getting considered... Max Payne 3 has a dynamic camera that zooms and moves away from a corner that you're trying to look around. Or if you're covering behind a small wall, the camera moves down so you can't look over it unless your peeking over. How is that hard to fix third person when games like Max Payne have provided the solution :S
  22. Not exactly true... there's clearly a lot of people who want to play on FPS servers only. Eitherway, at least with options you're not forcing every to play JUST your way. Which I kind of find selfish. A lot of people who play with people using 'exploits' like third person generally dont get clear cut options to stay away from them with options like first person only servers. Consider yourself lucky and grateful for being given the option to stay away from all those 'exploits'.
  23. I'm going to vote for the dynamic camera like Max Payne 3 :P It adjusts to your position so you don't corner-peek. However, you can easily get rid of that in MP3 by just changing what shoulder angle it goes onto, thus making the feature null and voided. If you just have the dynamic camera without the camera switching option, I think it's a great compromise. PS: I never meant for my comment to have an "if you don't like it, don't play it" attitude, but at the end of the day... there's going to be first person only servers that accommodate the hardcore players.
  24. There are alternatives, guys. I don't think JUST excluding third person is the answer. We've played with first person, to cut it out now is to get rid of an audience, which includes me. I'm all for fairness, but I'm not for selfishness. Games like Max Payne 3 have dynamic camera views that move the camera AWAY from the area that you shouldnt be able to see. For example, moving the camera to the left when a corner is on your right. Or moving the camera down when crouching behind cover. Needless to say, shooting in third person is a lot more difficult than shooting in first person, so maybe making the option to change between FPS and TPS is in the options, rather then on the fly. That way people can't use third person then suddenly go to first person in the middle of a gun fight. There ARE alternatives, but I do NOT like the idea of people trying to tell me what is immersive, and how a game that is currently THIRD PERSON shouldn't be played that way. At the end of the day, if you dont like it, go make your own video game. At the very least, go play on one of the servers dedicated to first person only and leave us TPS lovers alone. Not to mention, since I can not feel where I have been shot, I at least need to see it on my person.
  25. Well... not really. People who shoot in third person are at a disadvantage against people who shoot in first person. It's further away and has a more of a 'sniping'-like target. Anyone who argues that shooting in third person is the same as shooting in first person is dumb. My point was that there needs to be sacrifices if you choose to play in third person so that using that option only ever puts you at an advantage. Yes, you get more of a surrounding view then someone who plays in first person, but you're still not going to shoot nearly as well in a shoot-out. Eitherway, I think a dynamic camera like in Max Payne 3 is the best way to go. And for those saying that 'if this game was first person only, no one would be complaining'... If this was third person only, no one would be complaining. It's selfish for people to say "even though we have alternatives such as FPS servers only... lets just not give ANYONE a choice and cater to the minority". Cause I sure as hell wouldnt buy the game if it was a FPS only game. I dont want this to be a first person only game, just like I dont want it to be a third person only game. I want everyone to have their OWN option of playing. To take away third person now would be to cut out a part of your audience,
