Hi guys Might be a bit too early too start getting into this sort of stuff, but as I do 3D modelling for fun, I find it a great way to get creative and pass some free time. The only request I have is - has anyone extracted the female and male underwear models from the game yet? Why? Because I use them as bases to build clothes upon. I'm not really good when it comes to importing/exporting arms models, but basically I need to know if it's possible at the moment for any modders out there. I checked the Bohemia forums, with no luck. Thanks

are injured animations not ready or something?

How can we make a players life more important than his gear?
iashford replied to knawx's topic in General Discussion
Maybe have it that if you die, you are forced to play a character of the opposite gender for 2 hours. Then you'll have to kill that character to play as the gender you want. Massive inconvenience. Or maybe have your character walk a slugged pace for 20 minutes after respawning. I don't know -

That would make sense... If hair pulling was a feature. Until then, I'm an advocate for long hairstyles, ESPECIALLY side braids. I like the idea of organically having developed skills. Like cutting a can with an axe becomes more precise. Depending on your diet, your stamina becomes better. As long as you take good care of your character and 'teach' them things, I don't see how it would be bad to have limited skills naturally developed. Maybe the longer you play thru different seasons, they come slightly more adaptable to the climate and get sick less? I don't know. As for the women and the beard thing... I'm happy with slightly longer hair. -
The only thing I wish this game had in terms of movement is ledge grabbing/wall climbing

Happened to my game and i'm not sure why. I think because i was sick

I just shot myself in the head and looted my old character. The text said I was feeling better after a while, but my screen was overwhelmingly blurry and grey. In saying that, shortly before I was given a blood infusion that probably wasn't a blood type match
-
I kinda agree with this, but hey... Once we get use to it, it could become a good feature. If it continues to be annoying, then get it out. In saying that, can we also nab blood from a deceased body?
-
Ehhh, I wouldnt stress about the negative nancies. It happens in every game, over anything. That's like saying "there's mean girls at school and they're being so mean". Just part of life, in every aspects. Whatever people say, at least the game can grow from it so look at it as a positive.

Game needs to be more fun than fake realism

Too be honest, I haven't had a massive issue with the unconsciousness. In saying that, I mainly hung around Elektro and Cherno with my friend, only falling unconscious due to loss of blood. If it's half as bad as people make it out to be, I agree it should be fixed. Especially since the default run isn't really a run, more of a jog. A paced jog should be able to last a well fed and rested person quite a while before getting to fainting extremities. The main issue I found was how bad the screen becomes when sick/low on blood. It becomes overwhelmingly unplayable, barely being able to see anything which is annoying. I think clothing SHOULD be fairly common, considering everyone should have more than one pair of pants and a shirt in the wardrobe, per person, per house. The main issue should be finding GOOD clothing. I really hope they expand the outfit selection though, however, I don't like having 'typical survivor clothing' as the only option... I mainly just want a plumbers jumpsuit :P -
Good questions. She's just over 9k poly's, and I believe the arma ones (excluding the head) is around 11k? So she's pretty good. She doesn't have a lot of detail like a vest, belt, pouches, helmet, etc. but she's as detailed as possible with her given outfit. The texture resolution is 2048x2048 but all her textures (face, hair, clothes, etc) are on the one texture file, with obviously the spec an normal map being on others. My main concern with that was does arma support 2048x2048 textures? I'm assuming it would as it's a PC orientated game. I'd appreciate anyone who could enlighten me about that. And thanks for the good words and how to contact the leader. I sent him a PM a couple of days ago... I suppose I didn't use the best means of contact

I was wondering if the mod leaders would be interested in implementing a custom model I've made for the mod? Unfortunately I don't rig, nor do I import into the game, however I believe there would be talented people in the community able to do this. I've fixed her to the ARMA II Skeleton, so there shouldn't be any dramas there. I've also tried to make her as 'broad' as possible without looking masculine so she'd have the same dimensions (somewhat) as male models. She is considerably a lot less poly's then the average arma 2 model as well, so that is also a bonus. I also want to make more models for the mod, granted that interest has been sparked

First vs Third Person Discussion (Dslyecxi video)

Well no one likes being called wannabes or pussies... :p to be honest, is option 3 even viable? Do people really just like playing third person for only exploiting the view? I know I don't... -

What people need to realise is there's no right or wrong way in playing the game, it just comes down to preference. As long as people have the option to play it there own way with people like them, then what's the issue? I believe the wall peeking aspect of third person does need some work. In saying that, I find third person far more immersive. I see my character in the world, I see how they react. If I'm injured, visually, I can see that and it puts me in a tense mode. If they are shot, I can see where I got shot since I can't feel it. Seeing my avatar in rags immerses me into the world. First person makes me feel sick and doesn't give me as much senses as I would in the real world. People have a right to their opinion, but people do not have the right to tell me when, how and why I am immersed and allowed to experience something. This issue will be fixed. Even if the game sticks with just third and first person only servers, 6 months after release, no one will care. Everyone will have realised they can stick to what they love and find comfort in their own environment -

Don't mistaken me, I'm not getting worked up. But seriously, you don't want consenting adults to make their own decision...? Jeez, its like the australian game classifications all over again :p I just don't understand why you don't want people to play their own way. Given that there is going to be first person only servers, the option to completely ignore the people who have made the TPV choice, etc. why do you not want people to have choice? Is that not like saying 'I don't want there to be survival horror games because I believe shooters should be the only genre available'? I'm genuinely asking because I really want to know what your answer is when you have the option not to expose yourself to anothe persons choice.
