Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
Thoric replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
If it's like most other major deadlines he's set, he'll be with us until late 2015. I'm not too worried. :P In the meantime it will nice to see some Bohemia people consistently appear at devblogs, expo appearances, interviews. If the community gets to know the core team better, it won't be so hard to imagine DayZ going forward without Dean at the helm. -
You Dont Know How Rare TKSO Pants Are,,,,,,

Why go for pristine though? When they're all worn and torn they're harder to notice in the grass and leaves. -
Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557

The experimental servers are going to be packed. Can't wait. -
Right now I'm comfortable with it. I don't really haul much - bandages, can opener, compass, canteen and a pistol strictly for protection. Takes me 2 hours at most to get those essentials and I fill up on calories too. Of course this will change when they increase the number of zombies. Other than that I've found playing on two hives helps. Even if your main guy gets killed and your alt's only got an axe, it still feels better than starting from scratch. It's also nice to have a character with less to lose sometimes, so you don't have to risk your kitted out guy every session.

I'm all for the LOS solution. I love first person, but not everyone I may play with does and I also like being able to pop out and look at my character occasionally. The best thing about it is it would make 1PP and 3PP able to play together fairly and prevent division in the playerbase.

No loot at castles and ruins, but why not swords? lol

The game would be vastly improved by three things: Suits, bicycles and medieval weapons. Lots of medieval weapons. -
Merino's In-Depth Video Guides (Feb 11th: Updated to 0.34.115106 New Status Indicators, Rebalancing of Hunger, Thirst, Stomach, Blood and Health Reg)

Fantastic! The clarifications on the "healthy while thirsty" glitch and what causes the blurriness were really needed. Big thanks for sharing your research and for the shout-out. Though if you don't mind, I still have some questions: Epi-pen and defibrillator - done any testing on those? Do they work correctly? Do they cure blood-induced as well as shock-induced unconsciousness? If they just reduce shock, they wouldn't be very useful as shock decreases pretty fast, but it also wouldn't make sense for them to restore blood. Sickness - lately being hit by zombies doesn't make me sick. Sometimes after a fight my character would moan in pain, but only until I relog. In fact, cleaning wounds with alcohol and taking antibiotics is the only thing that gives me the sick status. What's up with all that? Breaking your legs - my experience is this: fell off a castle wall, crawled around a bit, injected morphine, got up, ran to a town, made a splint, applied it, it said my legs are fixed. But I wonder would have painkillers lifted me off the ground? And how long would have the morphine kept me up without a splint? Of course all of this isn't as critical as what you've already covered, but it's something to think about. Thanks again for all your work. -
That would be absolutely great.

I've often heard there's diminishing returns to consuming the same type of food over and over again. I'm guessing this is just a myth? Anyway, great video. I had a good idea how hunger, thirst, blood, health and energy related to each other before, but your explanations and having specific values to work with really put everything into place. I'd give you not just my beans, but my rice too! -
People got used to losing all their hard-earned shit when they die, they'll get used to not peeking over walls.

It's more like $10 million, since Steam's cut is 30%. And then there's taxes and fees... I expect the game to keep selling well though, as long as they keep updating. A team expansion might be good to hear, but it's all up to them. It's better to stay lean and mean when you're looking to support a game for a long time.

Don't look at the crosshair, look at where the weapon itself is going. The default attack of the axes is a bit to the right, and the raised attack is almost all the way to the right.

Bind to hotkey and use. On topic: Some clarification for the gas stove - after you add a canister to the stove, you need to place it on the ground, switch it on and only then you can drag the cook pot on top of it. Doesn't cook anything currently, but it looks cool I guess.

More zombies and some measures against server hopping.

I'd recommend EVE Online's model: Full price purchase+monthly fee, free expansions and content updates. Also a form of PLEX, if a stable economy gets going. Studio developed.
