I find it kind of amusing that the same people who cry that they want authenticity and realism are also against "farming skills". Isn't that what we do in real life?!? -
I don't mind some nighttime play. However unless I quit my job, it appears I have purchased a night only game. Variety is nice, night is fun but not every single minute I'm playing with no chance of ever seeing the sun. That's less realistic than a 30 minute cycle.

Played for about an hour this afternoon. Looted 20-30 houses, including firestation, pub, and everything inbetween. Could not find a single bandage till I found a med kit. Are bandages only in medkits?

Turning off shadows made a world of difference for me. Of course Im now unconscious in a shed outside Elektro so I guess my gameplay will consist of staring at a black screen for an hour or so. Yay, so hardcore./

Yeah, the ambiguous clues make it very hard to gauge what is actually happening to your character. My guy is tired and his head throbs. Eating doesn't help, I go to the fountain and click on drink water but get no confirmation that I drank so I can only assume it does not work. I have tried it with an empty water bottle in my inventory with no change. Can you fill up water bottles? If no, that is a huge step backwards. Hope I get some clarification. Also sick of playing at night. -

Of course they have inhuman/supernatural powers. They do not drink yet they live past the 96 hour window for humans. Blood doesn't count. -

I was surprised that sacriel was the one to do the Q&A with Rocket. He hasn't posted a Dayz video in months and has lost a ton of subs. Would have expected to see someone like Psisyndicate who has consistently stuck with the game. -

Octarine is a reference to Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. It's the color of magic. I also use Octarinefire, both are fairly uncommon so I can usually get them when I register.

I will admit that evn though Ive never hacked, i have been tempted. I play(ed) as a medic. Been online since June 2012 and have 0 kills ever. Basically Im the Anti KoS ! I love the immersion of the game and play to survive. Ive gone weeks with only a hatchet as in my opinion ammo would be GONE in a real zombie apocalypse. I also love exploring the created world and would love to just go exploring without worrying about taking an DMR round to the head from 800m while running with aforementioned hatchet. Im not gonna risk my key for that though.

The biggest issue imho is one that cannot be easily dealt with. In a "real" zombie scenario, there would be a definite advantage to killing zombies; less zombies means increased safety. (cf. The Walked Dead Prison ) If you could clear out an area of zombies, then you'd have an incentive to do so. Unfortunately this is a video game and as much as we all clamor for "realism" the Spawn system destroys that. I find going to a barn in the middle of nowhere, killing the zombie family that used to live there then watching another Z family magically sprout up out of the ground to be incredible immersion breaking. If I had a solution, I'd probably sell it to Rocket :) How about this: The more zombies you kill, the less zombies your character will cause to spawn? It makes sense that the dude above with 4500 Z kills will run into less zombies than the bandit who rapes his Lee Enfield and AS50 fire button while dip dodge dive duck and dodging zombies and not shooting any. Zombie killer extraordinaire walks into Cherno=20Z's spawn. Bandit/Noob who can't be arsed to learn how to headshot with a Macaroni runs through Cherno=250 Zs spawn.

I'm just irritated that Dayz Commander isn't apparently updating correctly. It says it's updated but I can't join any servers. I hate doing it manually, always think I'm going to overwrite the wrong file.

I was playing on BMRF #1 and had a player run into the police station at NWAF, circle me and the Zeds and not one bothered him. He told me he was "running a non aggro script". At least he didn't shoot me. Is this a for real script?
