    SA thoughts on bandages and bleeding

    i like the idea of the instant death. head, heart or central nervous system. in real life you are toast (except for some extremely unlikely scenarios) if they wanted to go deep with it, even making a chest seal for punctures to your chest. give the player the same effect as when they are drowning with everything getting hazy. unless you have a chest seal or suran wrap, plastic bag etc. to combine with a bandage or something.
  2. i have no idea how batteries are going to be handled in the SA, but what if there were a location on the map where players could recharge their dead batts? like a solar panel? and players would have to find a battery charging unit for the batts to connect to the fixed solar panel somewhere on the map? which seems like it would be an active area, lots of regular traffic. maybe a social area? swap meet location as well? depending on how players used it, for good or bad. can anyone build a good idea off this?
  3. i think we should approach things like the politicians do, we stop using the buzzword "children" and just catagorize them all as zombies, which are not children, adults, etc. they are horrible creatures, monsters, spawns of hell. :-)
  4. is it to crazy of me to think that maybe we could have car batteries in the game that can also be used to light up say, a house? a group can light up a section of a military base or airport. batteries would need constant recharging, but would last a bit. maybe it has a certain number of uses before its worn out and worthless? i might be going on a limb with this one, i dunno.
  5. also, anyone know if they have talked about adding batteries to the vehicles as another part to be not only aquired, but charged?
  6. humans are very visual creatures, our brains are processing information we aren't even thinking about consciously. and seeing at night, different sized silhouettes wandering around is something i think would help with the emersion and believability. it would add more sounds, which would also help the diversity. can get some eerie sounds out of them. maybe some sounds with a hint of anxiousness, some canned energy just waiting to blow open that only youth would possess. lets you know that less size equals more fight. even the decomposed ones can limp, crawl with a bit more vigor, which would also mean different speeds at which zeds approach you, and to me, that would be yet another thing that falls into the authentic category. right? wrong?
  7. i think it would really really help with the creepie feel. the feeling of seeing a diverse population in terms of size, more authentic i think. even a few different sizes of adults, with just some minor height variations. i think they are doing a great job with the game, only want to see it be the best it can be.
  8. i was thinking as i look at the new insides of the buildings, im seeing some wood stoves in those houses, and got to wondering.... as an alternative to campfires, simply add the wood to the stove and use at night time to stay hidden and not emit as much light, BUT, it would also create a smoke stack at the top of the house, which should be pretty hidden at night, but not during the day. but the fire wouldnt light up the whole surrounding area, maybe just a little patch indoors. players can search for houses with wood stoves for night time use, may give players another reason to seek inside shelter at night like i think many people would in an actual event. good? bad?
  9. i sat by them at night during the rain to keep from getting sick. that takes longer than 5 sec and at night, with other players running around potentially anywhere, your a target. might only be for 3 min, but when you have some good gear its a long 3 min. maybe the house heats you up faster than a camp fire, maybe the entire floor plan of the house heats up to better suit groups that are holding up in them. people dont have to crowd around the fire when the whole inside is warm. maybe each one has some kind of built in flint and tinder, if your out of matches you can just combine the stove and wood to get a fire. i dunno, just saying there is potential there.
  10. right, i was forgetting about the infection thing, so becoming a zed from any death would be ridiculous. but if you did die from the infection, then i think it would be cool and open up some cool things you could do with that. it would be funny to have something setup where once you die from infection, and your body turns, if you could still keep seeing through that AI zeds eyes, no control what so ever, but can watch him through his vision to see if hes going after old team mates, wandering aimlessly, etc. (not suggesting putting this in, id just get a kick out of it every once in a while is all)

Is there any information around in regards to what happens to players if they are killed by a Zed? just a suggestion, but what if ...... players gets mauled by a zed, player stays dead for some duration of time so the body can be looted. at some point player (which now might be controlled by AI) gets up and becomes a fresh corpse, a zed itself that begins to roam around, but will roam around with the same animations as a real player (cause they haven't decayed yet) and is still wearing the same clothes and may also have a pack on with all its same contents before death. maybe this would serve to confuse players that they see another survivor, can act as kind of a bonus find if the player died with some good loot, and be the freshest version of the zeds. maybe even if that dead player had a camp or a group, the new zed can walk from where ever it died to the tent it used to have, or the location it used to live in (underground bases?) and present a problem for his old companions. maybe its dumb, just trying to think of a way to have dead players come back looking like real players to help with the fog of war so to speak. confuse current survivors. and also to be a possible "jackpot" of loot depending on what the player had on them when they died. fresh zed can leave weapon where he turned and only roam with his clothes, pack and current inventory. any takers?

M1A1 Tank - if the military was around, these would have at least been present i would think. maybe you can make like 10 different heavy weapons, helicopters, planes, etc that could have been left abandoned during the outbreak and will only spawn one at a time. this would give some variety among the heavy machinery like tanks and keep them all very very rare and limited. maybe the parts are the things that are SUPER rare, like tracks and tank shells. and we actually have a number of tanks laying around, just no way to fix them up. having other heavy weapons that spawn this way would also keep people from constantly seeking out "the tank" when they dont know which heavy vehicle would spawn, or in what area.
  13. Dirty water - I think you got this one already. I think that along with 'good' food and 'bad' food, there should be the same for water. you can find and use a water filter to clean pond or other water you find, or make a fire and boil it with a camp pot that you can find, or even an old empty tin can you found. but if you dont sanitize the water, you will get sick. siphon fuel - find some hose and pull fuel out of cars or anything else, and put into a container to use in something else. maybe gas tanks around the world only have so much in them at any given time. Wet suits - to stay warm while swimming Hiking boots - moderate duability, med weight military boots - very durable, heavier sneakers - light and cheap Hallucinations (spelling?) - dont know if it can be done, but if you can get a single player to see something, like maybe a large group or even just a few zeds rushing at the player who is hallucinating things, causing him to actually fire at them or run away in fear (when there is nothing there and no other players can see it) would be cool. maybe this could happen when you get bit by a zombie, or you are in a very bad stage of being sick. Please keep the super high tech items. i would think, just like in a lot of other real world situations, the special operations communities (regardless of which country your in) would be at the fore front of this whole zombie apocalypse ordeal. I would just really really limit when the high ticket items appear. like those AN/PVS 21 NVGs i mentioned earlier. Why not have what could have been a four man team of spec ops guys that got over run by zeds, spawn like the helicopters. except these guys spawn in the middle of the woods and not on the open planes. make their spawn very rare, and then make the NVG/Thermals a rare spawn off of that. which would make them very very rare.
  14. Handheld HAM radio for contacting other players in the game? I think there definately should be batteries for the electronics like NVG, thermal, radios, lights, gps, etc. this way the game keeps you having to visit tough locations to keep using your stuff. right now, once you get something, you know you have it, and feel relaxed so long as you dont die. batteries will keep people rummaging. and also force people do decide if they are gonna use one item over another if batteries are scarce, or once installed cant be taken out and used in another device. how about a small remote control UAV in the form of a plane or helicopter. somthing small like an actual remote control plane. battery powerd, maybe it uses a lot of battereis but it can also be valuable for locating or patroling an area. something like in the movie "act of valor" when they were in the jungle during the rescue mission. just another silly idea, and im just bringing this up for the laugh factor when it happens. buuuut... how about when you eat like 2 or 3 cans of beans in one sitting, after a time duration, you begin to pass gas, and would work like the cough feature where zombies can 'hear' you. i would die of LOL if i was walking around town with someone who had to be a little more careful becasue they have gas. but if thats all you had to eat? maybe it only last like 20 min. hearing someone in your group letting them rip (without being able to do anything about it) would be a hilarious situation that would have some lasting memories. funny stories. you can also make some gas-x found in the supermarket. i said it was a silly idea.
  15. -Surefire M6LT flashlight for a long range spotlight at night. -AN/PVS21 or a similar goggle setup that includes nightvision and a thermal image combined for the most rarest form of NVG/thermal systems. ultra rare item. ultra ultra rare. the kind of rare that most people playing the game wont believe its even in there. maybe 1 player in a year finds it. but it will always keep you looking cause its that good. IMHO i think that they shouldnt, becasue the zeds are dead. should only be useful for live creatures.this will also keep players having to spot the zeds on their own, meaning things arnt so easy even if you have thermals. animals and other players should only show up, but the zeds shouldnt be nearly as obvious.
  17. i think that showing the spaces that an item takes up when you view that item is a good idea for the stand alone.

How about if you decide to surrender, then the other guys who are basically there to rob you, get the option to walk up to you (while you hands are up and no weapon at the ready) and search your inventory for what ever they want. possibly also an option to decide to stop surrendering, and engage them again? once the robber comes closer? i dunno. but i think bringing in the possibility of getting robbed instead of always killed, helps to flesh out the game and add what could be a valuable asset (if luck works out in his favor) to maintain the number of days he has worked for, and at least maybe some of his stuff. just simply be able to walk up to the guy, look into his inventory and take what he wants, if the guy decides to stop surrendering, his inventory screen dissapears and they both better get ready for a fight, unless the victim decides to bolt and run out of there taking his chances. It could be a tool to buy some victims a little extra time to decide what they want to do when confronted with a group or a situation that has startled them.

Just had this happen to me to. went to the regular server i use, logged on. was spawned in the empty plains with nothing and a notice that i had been killed (and i know i hadnt before i logged off, was under a tree safe and sound). so i logged out, and logged back into the same server. now i was on the coast and had nothing. no starter gear, nothing, and low on food and water. my stuff is near the major airport, and it spawned me on the bottom right of the map. so running back to my body is TOUGH. oh, and its night time. its def happening to some people.
