    Rocket, the script kiddie cheaters are at it again. Seen several servers getting nuked, as well as the cheaters spawning in vehicles and mass killing players. Is this issue being looked into? Thanks!

    I've still seen a few of the 'standing dead clone' things, so don't think it's been completely fixed yet. Also, seems to be an exploit for people D/Cing immediately after death where they spawn in with all their gear near where you killed them. Some reports of people doing it over and over and over again too. Had some guy do it to me the other day. Funny thing was too, I got the murder for killing the server-hopper, but when I logged in the next day I didn't have it anymore.

    No, many of us agree. Also, does anyone know if the bandit heartbeat thing is working properly? What is the minimum distance required, if any? Also, does this mechanic work even on name tag disabled servers?

    In 1.7.1.5, flies persist at player corpses indefinitely. Dropped items (that aren't dropped into loot piles) also persist forever. Time in servers varies from player to player by many hours sometimes.

    I've just experienced this rather annoying bug/exploit that some people have been talking about. I killed a guy near the tents in Stary. Join and disconnect messages were disabled, but kill messages were not. I checked the player list a few seconds afterwards and see that he disconnected. He reconnected a minute later and spawned back in near where I had killed him, with all his equipment. I wasn't able to get another shot at him as he had a terribly laggy connection and kept warping. He got away and left the server for good (probably to continue server hopping for loot.) Went down to check where I killed him and found his corpse, at least it didn't disappear like I've heard some complain about. This really needs to be fixed, it's no wonder some people fall victim to server ghosting, where they change servers to move before logging back in.

    Rocket, are there any plans to standardize the difficulty settings across servers in the future? I'll be hoping for most of the options turned off, such as crosshairs and nametags at the very least. It's just a little annoying sometimes looking for a server with these options disabled, because not all servers put that in the server title. I've even joined a couple servers that were supposedly veteran or expert (according to both server title and difficulty option shown in server browser) yet they would still have these enabled.

    Could even modify non-DayZ weapons to have atrocious accuracy and minimal damage or something, although that would require a lot of extra coding I'm sure.

    Well, just did a bit of reading up about sound in fog. It doesn't really absorb sound so much as it scatters the sound waves, particularly the higher pitches, which is what makes it hard to pinpoint the direction.

    I think fog shouldn't change the audibility at all as far as zombie aggro is concerned, but it would be kind of neat if there was a way to slightly muffle sounds somehow, including the ambient noise. Also, can't say I've ever noticed before, but does night time have crickets and cicadas? If not that would be a neat addition. Heck, bring on the crows and other carrion feeders that hang around dead bodies or something.

    If you have your primary weapon out, you can access loot piles without having to stand up, as well as other actions like eating and drinking. I think it's just a limitation with the Arma2 engine, although hopefully they can fix that in a beta patch.

    One of the updates made reloading the crossbow very visible, it's not a bug.

    Well, that sounds like a different story then, because there is no gun that can shoot off 500+ rounds without reloading. Even if someone cheats and brings in a gun that is in Arma2 but not a native DayZ weapon, it's not invisble. That is what I meant when I said BattleEye won't differentiate between a DayZ weapon and a vanilla Arma2OA weapon.
  15. All I have to really say about this is, yeah it stinks for those of you lucky enough to have a stockpile, but suck it up and drive on. Expressing your dismay is one thing, but raging on and on in a thread isn't going to do anyone any good. Nor is flaming the people who are complaining.

    Well' date=' that will have to be a risk of playing. There shouldn't be any kind of special treatment or double standard. MMOs that require you to logoff with a timer work the same way, if your game crashes or internet drops out, you're still left in the game for whatever the cooldown timer is. And those who keep saying 'Well, those are MMOs, this is an FPS' are completely missing the point : DayZ itself has MMO mechanics. It has persistent characters, persistent world (with each server essentially being separate instances), loot, mobs, etc. Just because it happens to be an FPS doesn't mean it's not essentially an MMO. I don't think there's any way the game will be able to differentiate between someone pressing ALT+F4 and their internet going down.
  17. Now just need to fix it so anything outside the map borders isn't saved, including players, vehicles, and tents, and all will be well!

    Are camping tents still in the loot tables? I haven't come across one for ages, wasn't sure if they were taken out or something.

    I'm thinking that if someone DCs even after they die, the body disappears, I've seen the behavior happen a couple times now.

    Would be kinda neat if it puts a small cross made from branches on top of a small dirt pile. Would also be interesting if it also puts their backpack and weapon at the base of the cross. You could even 'read' the cross by an action which tells you who was buried (maybe even by whom.) This would have to be disabled inside buildings I think, and could use a similar clearance checking as the tents (back when tents were actually working anyway.) I think another thing that could be added is the ability to drag or fireman carry a body to an appropriate burial / disposal location.
  21. I don't know if this has been touched on yet, because there are so many suggestion threads. If so, Admins, feel free to merge with other similar threads. Seeing as how picking up the small 'hatchet' somehow magically gives you a large 2 handed woodcutting axe, I'm thinking that the hatchet needs changed back into a utility slot tool, which is ONLY good for harvesting wood. However, there should be another large axe added into the game, which would serve the purpose of the melee weapon, as well as still having the ability to harvest wood. Bonus points: You could also make it so hitting trees with the large axe actually causes them to collapse, similar to how they keel over when run over by a tracked vehicle. Extra bonus points if you could then convert the fallen tree into a handful of wood piles which appear near you on the ground.
  22. Set your server name filter to 1.7.1.4 and then just click any of the servers that come up. There's shit tonnes of them. All I found after joining was that there's a 'shit tonne' of servers that haven't updated properly.
  23. Stealth wasn't nerfed, living was. On another note, I'm seeing a lot of people complaining about bugs that 1.7.1.3 was supposed to have fixed, what gives? Edit: NM, just saw Rockets post about stupid server admins not updating their sever properly. It's the same as joining a server that was the 1.7.1.2 version in server title, but was only 1.7.1.1.

    No it was some cheater using scripts to kill people. The servers were rife with script kiddies until the exploit was fixed and the offenders banned from MP.
