Depends if you got £15 to spare its well worth it, that's if you can't wait that is. Don't forget if your not worried about high res textures you only need to buy Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead for £9 and then download Arma 2 Free version to make it Combined Operations. Do you think the standalone feature Coca Cola, Pepsi Heinz baked beans and Mountain Dew? These brands are trade marked, should they even be in the mod?

I was thinking the exact same thing, how do you sell an incomplete game on steam? They're gonna have to be very careful not to promise something that may never happen and make it very clear the initial build is work in progress.

Guys For F#@k sake give the man a break, he is stressed and properly pissed off he's not gonna meet the strict and somewhat crazy deadline he set himself on the project. At the end of the day It's not the end of the world, well in 40 minutes it maybe but please show some festive spirit, it is almost Christmas. The game will be ready and better than ever sometime next year and I for one cannot wait. To all the Dayz Staff Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

Remember People! "The future: We are still working towards a target for an initial foundation before the end of the year. But we will slip this date if needed, we will not compromise the project for the short-term gain of meeting this date. The reasons for any slippage would be publicly discussed, and would most likely represent a failure personally on my part to plan correctly. We will be assessing the results of our major architectural changes at the end of next week, and reporting the results to everyone when we have assessed that. Screenshots, videos, etc… will unfortunately have to wait. As they say, loose lips sink ships." Just be patient, they will make an announcement when they are ready to do so, until then enjoy the mod.

Is the server password protected? Got a team of three who are looking for a server without any hacking. -

The exact nature of this and specific settings is very much subject to change, but this will be a significant departure from how it is currently with the mod." http://dayzdev.tumbl...t-november-2012 So does this mean the graphics quality may be limited and there could be a varying quality going from server to server? What graphic settings would you say the stanalone servers are equal to? (Dayz mod on the very-high/high/medium/low). This feature will even out the playing field but is likely to frustrate high end users.

Can't wait for the standalone, with having two weeks off for Christmas I hope it does come out in December. Would love it if dead players became infected after death, looting a players body knowing that the body may turn at any point would be insane. -

Yeah, is it possible for tents to auto save after every interaction? Remove the manual save function. Same goes for vehicles. -

I'm glad the debug monitor has gone, it makes the game more immersive having to use your eyes and ears alot more to stay alive, this is a survival game after all. Could a stat page be added on death? it would be awesome to know how many zombie/player/bandit kills and hours alive you managed. Edit Question for Rocket, Will we still have Coca cola and Pepsi in the standalone or will these brands have to be removed due to trademarks? -

No don't remove it, but increasing the spawn ratio on the toolbox a little would help players remove the barbed wire in those annoying places. -
This would make perfect sense and I totally agree, I get the feeling though it would Nerf off a lot of people. For the great of good and to restore elements of the game that have been lost it has to be done.
