Phrasing!

I found mine on a guy in a ghillie who was raiding a Heli crash site when I killed him with my double barrelled shotty. lol. He also had a rangefinder and AS50 TWS, probably a hacker but you're allowed to use hacked gear apparently! :)

Does that mean I can use it without feeling like a cheater? :P

I die from a mix of Random bandits, bugs and hackers.

I know, I was just deviating from the main topic of the thread a little asking if difficulty raises the zeds toughness in general, not specifically the 1911. My bad.

Does difficulty of the server change the toughness of zeds maybe? I'd like to know that actually.

Just FYI, it's displayed in a DEBUG menu. Which means it's used for DEBUGGING, which means it probably won't even be there once the mod is out of alpha/beta, or rather the standalone one.

So, I was playing yesterday, when I was just northeast of Elektro, checking out the deer stands when, what's that in the distance.. ? Is that a Heli crash site? I think it is! All excited as this was my first Heli crash site, I quickly raided it, easily enough, and I found an L8 and a FAL! Probably the best loot i've ever found. I drop my AK for the L8 and toss the FAL into my backpack(For my friend). Now I decide to head back south to where my friend is, I climb to the top of the hill, feeling great, start walking down towards the road, and then, my screen goes all blurry, I see the shock and broken limb icon for a second then suddenly it says I'm dead. I would really like to know how I died. I heard -NO- gunshots, if I got shot, it would've had to have been a silenced sniper rifle with night vision or something because it was night and damn dark, even with brightness and gamma at full. My character didn't even make any sounds as if he was in pain, my character was actually -still- walking from what I could see, before the screen faded out to the score screen and then the "YOU ARE DEAD" screen. Then, after spawning on the coast again, me and my friend double timed it back to the general location where I died, I retraced my steps, found the spot I was positive I died and used my flashlight to look around(I didn't care about bandits at this point, there was only like 8 people on the server at this time anyway) and there was absolutely nothing, no body, not even the fly sounds, which I then thought the flies persist even if the body is hidden for some time don't they? This made me think that maybe it was the work of some filthy hacker using some kill script or something, or maybe just a glitch with the new patch? I'm really bummed out because this had to happen right after I found good gear, and yes I know "Don't get attatched to your gear" etc and I'm fine with that, but that's when I die legit and not for some lame reason like this. I'd like to know if anyone's experienced similar recently, is this a commonly known bug lately or something? I did see some posts about people dying on spawning in, but this is different. This was a 2 day character I'm pretty sure.

Try supermarkets, they're rarely in other areas, atleast in my experience.

My problem seems very unique to what i've been finding on these forums and steam forums. Today I was playing fine for a bit, then decided to server hop to where my friends were playing on. Then I was stuck on an infinite loading screen - I was waiting for over 30 minutes when I decided to end task. So then, I decide to boot up the game again(Arma2OA) from steam. The little box pops up with the ticks, gets to the two last two ticks, then "Arma 2 OA has stopped working". I just disregard it and attempt to launch again, to no avail. Everytime I attempt to launch, the process will appear in task manager for about 5 seconds then dissapear. So then, I decide to verify the files. Steam finds a single corrupt file and says it will reaquire it, which finishes pretty much instantly. So I boot up the game again, then it's a repeat of last time. Last two ticks then "Arma 2 OA has stopped working". I'm stuck in this cycle, so I decide to try some different methods. Strangely, the game will launch fine when I use Six launcher, loading up the menu and everything, says the correct versions in the bottom right, but now when I connect to -any- server it will get stuck on an infinite load screen. I did once manage to get into one server, a local game arena one, however I was spawned at the coast again(I was far inland when I last logged out) and I was getting horrendous FPS(like, 5 or less) so obviously it was unplayable, and disconnected. I thought maybe my GPU might've been starting to give out, so I ran a few other games(Killing Floor, Deus ex HR, Arkham city to name a few) which are all running fine. I tried running the original Arma 2 game which actually launched off Steam without error, however it seemed to have suffered some FPS loss as well somehow, though not as bad as OA had(like 20-30fps) This was striking me as really odd now since I was playing just hours ago with perfectly fine FPS(60-80+) and none of these issues. Also yes, my drivers are up to date. So now I decided to completely reinstall both games, to no avail. The -exact- same problems are occuring as before, I went ahead and even installed 1.7.2.5, joined the server my friends were in(Had to launch off six launcher, since I still just get the same error when I try to launch OA off steam) and still the horrendous FPS issues, so I have to stop playing. I'm really lost on what I can do to fix this, it's like my game just decided to break for no apparent reason. I've decided to delete the "Expansion" folder in the OA directly and redownload it, but I have a gut feeling it probably won't resolve anything. Please help, any advice is greatly appreciated :(
