yo man, your laptop is a hp envy dv7 7230us. I play this game at medium settings. this laptop sucks ass the graphic card is a super low budget version. it only has 512mb of memory built into it and shared is 2 gb which doesn't make a difference. if any on plans to get the 7640m or up series do not get it I repeat do not get it. a game like arma 2 with dayz needs at least ddr5 dedicated 1 gb of memory. I have a video a couple months ago talking about this laptop so people can know what they are paying for. I regret buying it so badly, I should of research this gfx more but I didn't because I thought the 7640m and up series was a good gfx series. the gfx only has built in ddr3 memory 512mb.

ok every one, after so many attempts with arma 2 CO bad key or bad key given this is a fix for it. please make this a sticky. BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR GAMES TO A CD DVD OR A HARD DRIVE INS TEAM BY GOING IN STEAM CLICKING STEAM TOP LEFT CORNER THEN SELECT BACK UP AND RESTORE GAMES... iF YOU DONT FOLLOW WHAT I SAID ABOVE YOU CAN LOSE ALL YOUR GAMES AND WILL HAVE TO REDOWNLOAD EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!!! NOT FOLOWING WHAT I SAID ABOVE AND BY ACCIDENT YOU DELETED YOUR GAMES BY FOLLOWING MY STEPS BELOW IS NOT MY FAULT!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! other websites did not help me at all so i figured it out my self. this will take you awhile to do so please do it on your free time by rushing your uninstall/ install steps you might have to do it all over again. Quick Method One quick way to do all of this is to go into your registry section and delete all the keys for steam. windows vista 7 and windows 8 users type in regedit in the start menu. 8 users please down start menu 8 to get your start button and menu back. you can download it from here. http://www.iobit.com/iobitstartmenu8.php after you have typed in regedit open it, then you will see 5 folders that have "HKEY_" look for "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" click on the white arrow left side of the folder next find software and click on the white arrow (do this to all the directorys, directorys are the yellow folders you go into using the white arrow) look for valve expand it, you should see testapp****** <--- those astrisk represents numbers your numbers can vary from mine. So if you have allot of testapp folders you need to find out which one it is. mine is testapp 33900 and 33930 if you have a folder that has the same numbers click on them and look at the right side you should see to files that says default and steamkey, look at the steam key first 4 letters and numbers remember that or write it down then go to steam right click on arma 2 click on view cd key, you will now see the cd key for that game. if it doesnt match close that key window down and do the same for operation arrowhead if you see the same 4 go back to regedit and delete that folder. do the same thing for the other testapp folder. Server steps if your making a server please make a new folder in common, named Dayz Private Server, copy both arma 2 folder and arrowhead contents into the dayz private folder. you dont want the folder just the stuff inside. first copy arma 2 then once your done do this for arrowhead as well when you get the message overwrite files you select yes to all. what this will do is this will make the folder dayz private server into combined operations. always do this when making a server that way if you mess something up you have a folder you can dedicate to server only and not messing up the actual game and having to reinstall it all over again. uninstalling/removing left over files and registry entrys. 1. you need to download a uninstaller program for example perfect uninstaller. the reason why i tell you to download a uninstaller is because windows installer does not remove every entry and file left behind. some registery points are corrupt or missing thus the game telling you something about the key. 2. make sure the program is a full version because trials will only remove some files or just scan and tell you, you need to purchase the full version to remove some files and registry points. 3. once you get the full program (how ever you can), run the uninstaller in admin mode by right clicking it and select run as administrator. 4. search for arma 2 OA right click uninstall (yes you have to uninstall arma 2 OA first otherwise this will not work and you will have to do it again), click next then next again until u see steam telling you you will uninstall the game. once you see that message and click next or continue the uninstaller should be scanning automaticly for registry files and files left behind on your computer. this might take time time to find any files, so walk away for at least 5 mins or so. 5. once the the uninstaller scanner has finish select alll files and registry files by opening the + box then selecting the first blank box. this selects all files and registry points, click next then the uninstaller might ask you are you sure you want to delete you select yes, or it might ask you to move to recycle bin to keep just in case some thing happens or delete permanent. always delete any files and registry points. 6. unstall arma 2 by doign the same steps above. REMINDER POINT: remember to back up your games before you continue to step 7 7. uninstall steam following the same steps above. 8. once you uninstalled all 3 apps ARMA2 ARMA2 OA and steam, go to your c drive by start click on computer or for xp my computer then click on c drive go to programs or for x64 bit operating systems x86 programs then look for steam folder right click it then select delete. select yes to delete 9. for vista and 7 click on start then type in regedit, a window will pop up select yes. look for HKEY_CURRENT_USE then click on the arrow pointing to HKEY_CURRENT_USER then do the same for the following ,HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software, then look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bohemia Interactive Studio. right click bohemia interactive studio select delete entry. 10. click on the arrow next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER to minimize all the entrys. now look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, do the same in step 9(if you dont see any bohemia entrys please continue). now look for Wow6432Node then delete any bohemia entry. ok now you are done with the registry editing and the uninstaller. installing steam/games 1. install steam 2. if steam opens close it after it updates, if it updates. then go to start type in steam (for vista and 7 users) xp users does not need to run as admin). right click steam run as admin select yes when asked to. 3.once steam is installed open steam then update, then once you are done updating steam open it again and select steam from the drop down menu left top corner, select backup and restore games... 4. select restore then select where every you backed up your game to for x64 bit operating systems C:\programs(x86)\Steam\Backups and for x32 bit operating systems C:\programs\Steam\Backups. some of you might have steam installed in a drifferent hard drive or partision. 5. once you found your back up click on the + box to reveal the other boxes open them until you see arma2 or what ever name you named your back up as. then select arma2 folder then install both games. 6. installing the games will take awhile some come back in about 10-20 mins. installing the games for me takes 8 mins because of my raid 0 SSD. 7. once they are installed right click arma2 in the steam game list select properties, click on local tab then verify integrity of game cache. 8. once you verify integrity of game cache run the game, once you get to the menu set your video option to the max your pc can run it at. after that close the game down. 9. do the same for arma2 OA by following steps 7 and 8 10. use dayz commander to install all patches for arma2/OA and dayz. do not download any thing else from dayz website let dayz commander do it all for you. if you come across the same error again you didnt follow my directions and you need to start all over again. if you come accross the same error once again, your pc might need to be reinstalled (aka reformatted)
