how about BI hiring a FULL TIME sound designer? how about ME! I would do full buyout work-for-hire music and SFX for low six figure per annum. Think about it - I'm fucking awesome btw.

+1 agree, less weapons (escpecially high-spec mil gear) = better game for all. Pistols and shottys should be the 'norm', rarely should you encounter snipers, instead of all the time. -
I've got this great idea :) let's make vehicles MORE difficult to get (even though there's fuck all).

i support the idea of separate hives. - a 'pro' hive w/FPV only. - an 'amatuer' hive w/both. This would make the game truely fair and players with more skill can move onto the 'pro' hive when they aquire the skillset to do so. This would obviously cause a split in the youtube community as the 'pro' hive will become more desirable for status. If the SA main hive allows 3DP or the hive isn't split in this way, I can't see how the hardcore community will bother staying. After all I hear Realtime Immersive has a Crytek based milsim in the pipeline. -
yeah, do that & remove all the other nonsense like all sniper and all high spec mil weps (anything > 8k blood dp.shot) & gear. None of this shit would be left behind or left outside of an impenetrable armory anyway. The game needs the players to actually interact instead of just camping. rusty PDW, AK's & HnK's should be the highest possible weapon, shottys and pistols the norm. The biggest reason for hacking? TWS/NVG/RF/M107/M240/AS50 and the lazy/boring/safe playstyle those weps and gear afford. I almost wish they would put the pistol starter weapon back just so I'd actually fucking SEE somebody on a 50+ server.

There is NO way to 'fix' third person: * no 'looking down' method = doesn't fix/change fuck all. * running only method = players will 'run' in circles behind objects to TP. * non-rendered / blurry camera = clunky engine code / netcode / hackable. * pre-empting combat routines & locking 1st = incredibly clunky netcode and stupid. * locking 1st after shot fired = fucking dumb, doesn't stop stalking in TP before shot. Nothing official has been stated, don't misinterpret Matts' musings as official gospel... -
yeah I can't play in Australia anymore (sucks cos I live here) - sooo many hackers, even on 'whitelisted' private (taviana & others). Soo many people 'passive' hacking with ESP, zero running recoil etc... it's unplayable atm.

you guys read the dev blog right? it's pretty straightforward about concrete server sided (& radical) changes to gameplay/graphics. It continues with talk of streamlining movement / removing 'clunkiness' etc. Pretty obvious it's going to be server forced FPV anyway :) " I want to confirm the following: Most settings will be forced server-side, such as gameplay and graphical settings (view distance, shadow distance, etc…). The exact nature of this and specific settings is very much subject to change, but this will be a significant departure from how it is currently with the mod." either way, I'm not playing until the SA comes out, the game is unplayable - unless you like chatting and camping. Played taviana, shot some ghillie in the head (after him missing from cover) with a lee, and the guy just ganks me zero recoil while running... g-y. Hopefully this whole MMO type architecture will remove some script kiddies. -

hackers..... hackers everywhere..... (especially Taviana) - gameplay is different, no1 uses 1st person anymore... people are playing it like a social/wow game now where they just camp, spot, loot/hack. The SA will be a different game. -

New item suggestion - Megaphone (Standalone?)

Thought of this myself so I searched the forums for 'megaphone'. It's a great idea, a larger megaphone is like 45 watts & does about 1500 yards of audible range, whilst the smaller ones do about 800 yards. Given perfect conditions though... I think the range should reduce incrementally to a third in heavy rain. Megaphone range would probably be difficult to implement without a whole lot of bugtesting (as the current one is glitchy @ best) ... I would bugtest it for free. Oh yeah & the best thing about it - Strap it to a Heli = psychological warfare :) -

once again ALL of these problems, negated by removing 3DP, those guys killing you aren't vets, they just noobs exploit-playing 3DP. -
in regards to cost of banditry. I'm pretty sure the SA will be 1st person only, thus most of the noob snipers will not be able to hide/snipe effectively, as they are too used to 360 degree 3DP exploiting and can't actually play the game properly anyway.

mine was way back in 1.4.4 or something. I had just geared up with an AK @ balota med tents - met two survivors just up the coast from there, near a port building. Both said friendly, chatted for a bit - went into the port shed & got domed by one of the survivors. Both guys think I'm dead and start arguing over which one gets the AK. Came out of shock pulled the AK while prone, domed both of them & bled out (no bandages). Spent the next two sessions giving bloodpacks to lose the bandit skin, which actually meant something back then. -

yeah this topics' been around since before 1.5 - yup we need wind simulation. it's not a challenge to snipe & too many nubs with hightech rifles. Sniping & flying should have the highest learning curves, enough to keep the non-practiced player unable to hit basic targets or fly a heli.
