I still think that there should be weapon decay, especially when you first pick up the weapon. I mean... its not realistic that a AS50/G36A is fully intact aside from the fact that it was part of a heli crash (for example).

If the Standalone has detailed Weapon Customization it should have Weapon Decay as well. This would mean that certain parts of the gun need maintenance after a period of time, depending on its usage. If a Gun is used heavily (high amount of reloads), gets in contact with water or got hit by a bullet/zombie it should decay a little bit. There should although be a chance for the gun to decay every time you change a modification slot. This would mean that people would need to find secondary equipment for their weapons to keep them healthy (same system as with vehicles) and you could not switch the weapon attachment without worrying about decay, which would mean less abuse potential of the weapon modification system.

Hello DayZ Community, about a week ago I decided to found a steam group, with the purpose to gather people from this board and play together in a squad. Playing in a team we managed to survive even the most dangerous Gameplay situations and we also managed to give us a pretty good stand in the game (gear wise). We have a network of Camping Tents all around the map to assure that basic Gear is available on every map zone. Regardless of our success we are still looking for a couple of new members to complete the squad line-up. Our goal is to have about 16 members and maybe two Squads of four people playing at a single time with different operations tasks. We currently own: 1x SUV 1x ATV 1x Basecamp (2 Tents) ...on AWA-Private Hive ONE (5.9.122.79:2302) The Survivor Squad is a Task Force, its consisting of the most skilled Survivors and if someone in the Squad needs help, there will always be a rescue operation. Note: The Survivor Squad is not a Clan and though everyone who is part of the Squad is not bound to any specific play style or amount of playing time. The sole purpose of the Squad is to have as much fun as possible with DayZ and we managed to achieve that goal pretty good by now. Regardless of the laxly management there will still be a couple of attributes that every member needs to have, those are: - Good knowing of the English Language - Fluid English speaking - Microphone - Steam - Patience - Teamplay - Europe Timezone ...if you do have all those attributes you can feel free to contact me trough PM or Steam. We will take every contender with us on our travels and we will decide if he will be a full squad member after a few encounters. I have a 560 TI and I can run the game on all ultra with 30fps and more... it runs on 900mhz shader clock without any problems. My CPU is a Sandy-Bridge i5 @4,4GHZ Quadcore.

If you think that the AS50 is overpowered, you should get your hands on a MK48 (Codename: Armageddon). 8000DMG each shot, 100 Bullets in one round. You can end the Apocalypse with this weapon on your own... oh and by the way: 400m effective Range.

I added two alternatives, just in case. The Coyote Backpack and the NVG share about the same drop rate so its not a bad deal in my opinion.

Dont feed the troll, let the thread die! This guy is so jealous about his hacked loot that it hurts. If you use hacked loot you will support the hacker behavior, many people (including me) will treat you as hackers. Wear the Soldier Outfit and you will be banned from many servers, have fun with your stolen hacked stuff.

The clothing should defiantly not give any gameplay advantages, it should just be a special clothing which is showing the support. Maybe Blue-Jeans and a T-Shirt with a Rocket on it....

Well Snipers used to snipe from 800 meters and more... otherwise they are no Snipers. How does he know that you are not a threat to him? Maybe he wants to kill people in his surroundings to make sure he is safe... or maybe he just wants to kill you to reduce the player population? Who cares... if he hits you than you should be death, not on your desktop. That's it. Binoculars and Rangefinders are meant for spotting and if you are not able to spot a sniper and counter him or even move around him, than you deserve to be dead. I once got sniped while looting a Deer Stand... people need to learn from their mistakes.

You sir totally miss the point of the game, its about surviving. Go play another game... DayZ is hardcore. I never got killed by a kid with an AS50... I got killed by experienced snipers who knew how to get to good sniping positions and were able to stay out of my radar... those are not a kid to me and even if they are they are acting very mature. I sometimes go to the Airport at daytime on a crowded server, knowing that I maybe could die and I fight myself trough all the meat balls who want to get my stuff... some of them Alt-F4 like you do... and those are pussy's... and pussy's are of lower worth than a kid in my opinion. Well your right, the mod is dying! 10.000+ people each day are not enough to keep this mod alive! o rly? A look in the future; DayZ Standalone will be a Blockbuster and will achieve huge sales, Arma 2 is on the 1-2 position in the Steamshop since weeks. Many people do not even know of DayZ and the need of Arma 2 to actually run it, as soon as DayZ will be promoted and becomes Standalone I bet it will be as successful as Minecraft. The Standalone versions will have a bigger map and there is the goal that nearly every building should be able to be entered, the weapon arsenal will be drastically increased... all those things have been confirmed. Just imagine a TV-Spot in which you can see a lonely survivor looking at cherno and seeing a tons of zombies while the following message appears: "You're not alone". DayZ Standalone will run on the Arma 3 engine and some aspects of the Engine are getting customized for DayZ (for example Zombie behavior). I allready love this game and as soon as DayZ Standalone goes live I bet I will need to forget about my real life for several weeks. but everyone can feel free to quit the game, its just one meat ball less. ...one last word: Guys, you're playing a Alpha-Version, get used to it! I personally bought Arma 2, Arma 2 Combined Operations and both DLC... not because I needed to but because I wanted to give Bohemia Interactive and Rocket as much support as possible! If there would be a Donation option I would use it... without Bohemia Interactive and Arma 2, Rocket would have never had the opportunity to create DayZ. regards
