WTT Long Range Scope for Handguard - RIS (Hardcore-Server)

I know its an alpha and everything is suspect to change or of course get wiped... but I want to trade an item. I'm looking for a Handguard RIS (with at least worn condition) and I'm willing to trade a Long Range Scope (Pristine) for it. There is no trade sub-forum which is why I post it in General Discussion. I made Trades in DayZ-Mod too, this is not a Trap... I was in the trusted trader list. The Trade-Location will be send per private message. -
Fatigue is not in the game yet, you can expect your character to stop sprinting after a certain amount of time. He will then need a break until he can make a sprint again. My speculation is that this will come somewhere around the same time vehicles get introduced. The current sprint mechanic is basically a place holder.

Questions To M4 Firemode, Distance Measuring, Field Of View

This can be applied to the SA-Acog as well. You will have to reduce the FOV to the minimum in order to see the mil dots accurately. I know thats is not intended but as the normal FoV makes the ACOG appear too far from the head, see here: ...it is the only option until the Dev-Team is handling FoV and Scope-View separately, which I hope will happen somewhere down the road. Especially when you compare the Dayz-MOD Acog-View with the SA Acog-View the difference in zooming is quite obvious. Currently the SA-Acog only magnifies by 1.56x while it should have 4x magnification. The only scope that is currently comfortable to use on high FoV Settings is the Long Range Scope. -
I've spent about 50 hours in SA and I barely killed someone... I prefer to avoid encounters if possible. Why should I kill someone who is not even walking into my direction and neither knows I'm there, with a sniping rifle... doesn't make sense to me. There are some occasions where I'm looting a Hotspot and face myself in Close-Combat... that's where I have no choice most of the time. I would say that I killed about ~8 players, all of them in self defense.

Yeah... some people should stop complaining and be happy that this ALPHA(HURR...) is enjoyable, that's not always the case. -
Starving to death very quickly on experimental branch

Thats because in the experimental you throw up immediately after you are stuffed which makes you extremely hungry. You go straight to starvation and if you are not able to eat some food in the upcoming minutes, you die. This is a realistic feature and I'm looking forward to it, if a person drinks several liters in only 1-2 minutes he/she should absolutely throw that up. People can easily avoid this by just clicking ~10-15 times (depending on current stomach capacity) on a pot instead of 20 or even 30 times... -
The traffic will be even higher once vehicles are in the game.

I hope it is fixed in the latest experimental patch, as specific exploits are not being mentioned in the changelog. I'm saying that because I think that removing Combat Logging while still suffering from game breaking exploits is actually a two-sided sword. There are occasions where are player who is not exploiting the game can suvive an encounter against a cheater, sometimes only with a Combat-Log. I'm all against combat logging by the way... but as long as there are cheaters out there it is basically the only way to counter it.

I've used the compensator and to me it seems like it infact increased the accuracy of my rifle. Before my shots where landing to the lower left of my aiming cross... after I've attached the compensator the shots nearly hit directly into the cross with only a slight deflection to the left. Edit: I was shooting on a tree from about 800m distance, weapon was zeroed to 800m. The compensator was in pristine condition. I could not notice any difference in close range whatsoever, which could be based on the already low dispersion of the mosin... which only plays a role on huge distances.

You do meet the minimum requirements which means you can play the game on low-settings.

Dude... is it so hard to use the modern internet? Can you run it - Dayz -> click "can you run it"... your system will be tested and you will get the results. Thats my result: I play it on 1440p with all details maxxed out. The test is pretty accurate.

You are playing in a group... most players meet up in a 1vs1 situation. Lowering the weapon in such a situation is incredibly stupid because it invites the other person to shot you or at least handcuff you to steal all your items and/or feed you weird stuff. @rest, always aim your weapon towards the other person if possible... while doing this you can try to talk. If the other person is a bandit and you talk first, you will most likely die in the moment you raise your voice as this gives him a slight advantage. Friendly reactions towards a bandit player (F1, voice) result in a fast death most of the time. That's why I KoS if the player wears Full-Camo. There are friendly players who wear that stuff, but they are the minority. I'm not taking that risk.

That's bad, because I'm playing with an higher than standard FoV (about 70%) as I'm plaing on Hardcore (1st person only). I already noticed that M4-Scopes are too far away from my head due to the high FoV setting... which makes it very hard to use the scope-

Its not a missile base, neither a compound for space-programs (lol'ed on that one).... its a research compound to develop biological weapons. That is also the reason why there are so many airports and heavy military presence around the map... they made preparations... and failed badly. One could even assume that DayZ-Chernarus (fictive location) is indeed a big island and we only see ~1/4 of that island yet. This would explain why there are so many airports and harbors... because that's the only way out and that way the virus can be contained. I have to say that Rocket and the Team could make an amazing story out of this setting and once DayZ is finished it could be truly epic. An Expansion every ~two years which expands the Island-Map with an additional region, with new story puzzles... MMO Style.

I've heard that the FOV-level has an effect on weapon precision. Sights need a specific FOV-Level to be really accurate... is that true?

At the moment we only have two small Military Bases and Two Tent-Farms (the tent farms most likely have been build after infection-break out). Just because you can find loot at an airport it does not mean that that's a military airport.Totally possible that at least Balota and NEAF had been Civil-Airports and where used for evacuation during the infection. Military-Fortifications (for example watch towers) can be built pretty fast... who knows if Balota and/or NEAF may even have been abandoned/unused before the break out and quickly reassembled by the military to evacuate more people. A very huge military base near the NWAF absolutely makes sense and would be a very good addition to the game. In fact there has to be a science compound somewhere on the map where the virus was developed, that would defiantly be that place. This gives developers the opportunity to enhance the story and it will give each player the option to find out the reasons for the zombie apocalypse.

I don't know if there is additional damage towards the clothing if a player dies... when I survived my encounters, this is what I have discovered. Only time where all my gear was ruined was when someone hit my with a firefighter axe, after that encounter all my clothing was ruined. -

Its not true that the whole inventory gets damaged, it depends on the place of impact. If my upper body is shot -> vest/chest and sometimes my backpack is ruined. If my lower body is shot -> only trousers are ruined. If my head is shot -> Don't know, never survived that one... but I think aside from Helmets/Glasses nothing gets damaged. The items which are inside of a ruined clothing-pieces are automatically switching to ruined condition. I always have my most precious stuff inside of protection boxes, inside of a ruined clothing those boxes only switch to heavily damaged. The items inside of the box will stay in their own condition as long as the box is not ruined. -

...and there are no zeds around because as it stands now, zeds are dependent on server restart as well. Thats why I play on a 1hour-cycle server.

Yeah... if the players can't kill you, than the the servers will wipe you... wait for it ;) Hardcore in all aspects.
