How aptly named! I mean realistically there are 3 options in the game now. Once you've put in like 20 minutes and got all your end game gear, you can either run around in the wilderness just looking for food and surviving,go and help some new spawns and get them geared, or kill everything you see/run into...

I was wondering about that. Since the mod is built on the same engine, maybe not the same net architecture, you think they would have had a better functioning alpha then they have now. Just cause the SA is pretty doesn't make it better. Personally i enjoy the bugs to some degree and i think Dayz isnt the same without bugs and will probably never be bug free. But i'd like to know what data gathered over the 2 years of the mod's alpha life have been implemented and applied to this stand alone Basically, what the hell did the dev team learn from the alpha from the mod that they applied to this new alpha?

Idk if you have ever played the Dayz mod before. What you described in your first paragraph is already in existence as private hive servers, which is a huge matter of debate for implementing into the stand alone. About virtual rape, there are a lot of weirdos out there, nothing you can really do about it lol. It is funny because something along the lines of what you witnessed was used as an argument to not introduce female models into arma 3. the zombie spectate is an interesting idea, they used to put you as a seagull in the mod in the old days. And they have already said micro transactions will NEVER be a part of dayz. Also idk if this thread is in the right section?

Anyone who has every played an Arma game knows it is pretty much impossible to port it to a console. This is mainly because of the massive amount of key bindings needed that cannot be supported on a normal game pad. Also the engine arma in general uses is very processor(cpu) intensive and consoles generally have very weak processors(cpu) compared to their computer counter parts. Unless BIS either massivly optimizes Dayz for consoles or consoles become orders of magnitudes more powerful, there will not be a port. -
OP you should immediately uninstall your copy of the SA. You've clearly never played vanilla Dayz mod before...

Yea i know but i think its a bug, when you shoot from prone your bullet hits the ground in front of you even tho there is no obstruction to your shot.

I feel like KoS will decrease as there are more features implemented into the game as of now it literally takes 10-20 minutes to get enough supplies to survive and a gun with enough ammo to kill a few players. As new things like buildables and vehicles and new guns are put in, people will spend more time gathering that crap before they get bored and start hunting players... also there is no incentive to go north as there simply aren't enough items in the game yet. there is no point to go to the NWAF since the same loot spawns in balota or the military base west of it.

Would this simultaneously fix Server Hopping and Ghosting?

What it should be is similar to the mod where there is a logout timer and a combat timer, there should also be a timer between switching servers(like 5-10 mins), like in breaking point. This would eliminate ghosting as it would take 10 minutes to switch to another server to move into better position then 10 minutes to switch back. Server hopping for loot would be more inconvenient as it would take longer to do. Combat logging or otherwise improper exiting of the server should leave your character in game for 30 secs or whatever the combat/logout timer is. if this has already been proposed it is because it is a good idea, there will never be "safe" zones in dayz -
I think they will try to expand beyond the whole tents in random bushes things sandbags and such were in the mod and will likely be seen eventually in this, but itll probably be nothing like epoch with safe zones and crap. Rest assured: if you build something or stockpile loot, someone WILL be able to find and either steal it or destroy it.

I prefer the m4 for magazine size and ROF. Its like 1-2 shot kill and you can definitely pick people off with the ACOG. I killed 2 groups of 2 people within a minute at balota thanks to the large magazine size and ability for rapid follow up shots

I doubt they will. Glock 18, which shoots significantly faster than an m4, with 33rnd mag will probably be the best alternative, but then someone will want to duel wield that at which point they will be told to go back to COD

At this point in the game there isnt really THAT much stuff you need to carry since most of it isnt used for anything at the moment. I was using the mountain backpack for a while but dumped it for the hunter since it goes better with my ttsko clothes. Also i ditched my axe Also ive noticed you run noticeably slower when carrying more stuff, that or its issues with syncing between me and my friends. Having a smaller backpack forces you to carry less and thus lets you travel further -
7/10 would hit......with my axe

Im pretty sure they're working on it. The cqb stock for the m4 which looks alot like a vltor stock, allegedly increases weapon handling at the cost of some bullet spread...no idea if it actually does that yet tho lol. this brings up some interesting points like randomized bullet spread depending on your attachments -
