Zombies should have MUCH more HP than humans
Shadyfizzle replied to andrestor's topic in General Discussion
someone needs to lay down some general ground rules for these zombies. What kind of zombie lore do they follow? Are we talking Resident evil zombies? World war Z zombies? Walking dead zombies? ect. -
URGE TO KoS RISING!!!!! but really if anyone of any age has the mental capacity to process all the information this game throws at them, good for them. Its the people who don't realize the technical stuff about this game, I.e. different bullet calibers, thirst/food rates, and all the little reading you need to do for the items you find, and then complain about the game that pisses me off. OP hasn't shown any of that...yet

So I think that implementing a cooldown period for things would help this game a lot. For instance a 10 minute cooldown period between switching servers, similar to Breaking Point, would eliminate ghosting since it would take 10 minutes to switch servers, move into better position, then 10 more minutes to switch back to your original server. Also server hopping for loot would be significantly more of a hassle with a cooldown period between sever changes. A cooldown between respawns would also be a prudent idea. For instance there would be an hour or so wait time after you die before you can respawn. This would add more value to the life of a character as you would not be able to immediately respawn. It would also help curb mass suicides of new-spawns who want a better spawn point. Obviously the combat/log out timer would be nice whenever they decide to implement that. If these Ideas have been posted already then oh well, at least its not another KoS thread...

PSA: If you put "No KoS" in the title of your server, I'm going to favorite it and stop in every day to kill at least one person
Shadyfizzle replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in General Discussion
OP is the asshole Dayz deserves, but not the one it needs right now. Its great how one deceleration of intent can cause such an uproar in the forums! -
maybe you have teh AIDS?
-
Hunger and thirst should be quicker than real life since the distances you travel in Dayz are much shorter. The map is only like 15km from one end to the other, so the amount of resources it takes to move around that distance should be proportional to their availability.

well my rational for that would be to increase the stakes of dying. One the game is stable ect. and storage is implemented, losing your gear isn't a big deal since you have reserves and your friends can just drive down and pick you up from the coast, so something further is needed to keep those stakes high. In theory having a wait to respawn would cut down on traffic along the coast so bandits and such wouldn't camp it as hard knowing that people wouldnt be spawning there as often, although this would increase the satisfaction for bandits knowing they forced someone to wait an hour to respawn. Maybe an hour is too long, i think WarZ(never played it but i hear terrible things) had a 24 hour wait to respawn, but it also had multiple characters... Maybe a cooldown for that isnt such a hot idea, but then what could be added to increase the cost of dying beyond simply losing your gear?
-
the people who ghost/server hop for loot FAR exceed those who time out. plus if a server crashes it usually comes back up pretty quickly The respawn timer is more just an idea to add increased value to ones life beyond losing all your gear. Once tents and storage is implemented the threat of losing your gear is diminished so i think there should be something beyond that.
-
yea well the server switching timer is a good idea lol I still think the cool down after death would be a good feature once things become stable.

At least then noobs can spend that hour learning from their mistakes or watch youtubes on how to survive

Prime example of some great dayz trollery -

OP is guilty of trolling with intent to douche...which i respect Also roleplaying is for the bedroom, not the zombie apocalypse! -
I feel like multiple characters will lessen the gravity of getting killed, which is the whole motivating force behind Dayz. I get the whole wanting to play with friends, but thats part of it. trekking across the map and potentially getting killed to meet up with buddies is an integral part of the game

Summary execution is far more palatable than suicide

is this the ole santa in the smoke stack thing?

Does magazine size have an effect on M4 bullet dispersion
Shadyfizzle replied to autoloon's topic in General Discussion
I don't think it does and it shouldn't. At max range for an m4, magazine size shouldn't affect its shot placement. Maybe mobility and weapon handling in close quarters should be affected by mag size as that is a more realistic effect. -
Probably, i mean they have the MOE handguard and the ctr stock, im not sure if they explicitly mention the name magpul in those descriptions but i would assume its a licensing thing

psychological effects of banditry
Shadyfizzle replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I mean once they add more content/things to do i think people will spend less time hunting each other down out of boredom. There should be more of a consequence to dying, besides losing all your stuff. Once you have a base set up you can store things and that kinda defeats the main negative aspect of dying. -
psychological effects of banditry
Shadyfizzle replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
This is a bad idea and you should feel bad Dayz has said they will never do micro transactions. A cool-down period of like an hour or a few hours after you die would be more appropriate -
psychological effects of banditry
Shadyfizzle replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
You can't add a negative consequence to killing since it is not inherently negative. Plus what if my guy is a psycho serial killer who gains energy and focus from killing other players? I am wearing a clown mask after all -
