I hope with the dam, that when vehicles are implemented that you'll be able to actually drive over it! So many mod memories of quads doing massive flips when trying to cross the old dam. Overall looks great, really love the atmosphere of the sleepy fishing hamlet.

'Reskin' is the wrong term. It would require remodeling and retexturing to the point where it might as well be an entirely new item. The RPD 'drum' is just a container that holds a 7.62x39mm belt of ammunition, the RPK drum (which is what the drum originates for) is a high capacity magazine. There will be dedicated machine guns in future and I highly doubt the RPD would be a good choice. They just need to put a disadvantage to using the drum mag, such as increased sway / descreased stability, slower aiming speeds, etc.

Maybe... Maybe... My friends and I established pretty quickly that the best way to find the gear you can't (eg M4s and decked out Mosins) is to hunt down those that do. Haven't seen an M4 since 0.49 but I have all the parts and sufficient magazines for one as soon as I find one...

Frequent contacts within Electro, mainly geared bandits... Ah, mod memories. Been spending most of my time up in the NW of the map and getting a lot of contacts in vicinity of the Vybor Military Base; however, this I find is usually when a sever is only 50% full or less as most of the guys I've killed or engaged there were most probably farming loot.

My mates and I all got killed last night on a full pop server by a hacker sadly but there's always a bright side. I respawned at Dolina and ran to Polana where I found the following scene Which in of itself isn't odd, but this note found in his pack made my night!

Nice, Odin. We were all green in my group last week, now we're going black because most (I mean like 90%) of players we've engaged were wearing green as well and it caused some confusion during close range engagements.

Big fan of neutral colours to hide. Turned away from TKSo after experimenting with how mates for visibility. It renders very dark in the distance and stood out nearly twice as much as a guy dressed just like me. The group all are trying to wear green as well but a few still have TKSo. Tan shirt with beige cargo pants works rather well too. The black helmet is a IFF thing for us since most people we've assessed would likely opt to go for the complete green package so if we see a green helmet its fair game. And none of us play as caucasians either as another IFF means. Pretty funny when over comms you just hear something like, "Contact, 150m, survivor, caucasian male, moving left to right." Then another guy going, "it's a white guy, kill him!"

Damn I think the blokes and I might have to go patroling down Solnichy and start brassing these fuckers up. Good video.

Yeah there are way too many gobby fuckers in DayZ. These awesome coastal bandits are nothing new. They're all smart and clever shooting unarmed players until you see them tormenting freshies. Then you shoot to break their legs or hit them in the head with a Sporter to knock them out, hand cuff them and put a burlap sack over their head. Then listen to them bitch and moan about how unfair it is. Oh and I will say I'd never log out within a building regardless of what town I'm at.

Big fan of the SKS. Accurate, fast firing and hard hitting. At a disadvantage indoors against aware M4 users who can just riddle you with rounds but I am that jerk who waits until the enemy has safely left the building with my loot. I noticed a pretty steep decline in the effectiveness of the M4 about three weeks ago. Since then I've pretty much converted all my mates over to the SKS as well. Which is good too so now we have ammunition commonality amongst us for our primaries. At the moment I'm playing with the 22 Sporter for shits and gigs.

I think I was waiting in the grass for nearly twenty minutes during that stand off before shooting and it was the most jittery twenty minutes I can recall in my gaming history. Any other game you see a player and it's just business as usual. But DayZ still gets me nervous with each encounter.

Originally yes, I did remember the names of the first ten or so players I killed. Then the rest was sort of a blur. At worst I probably feel bad most when it's a misunderstanding. I remember helping a freshie on Namalsk and meeting him at Old Hospital to give him some medical treatment and supplies. We were in the school and I was kitted up fully with everything including warm clothes so I was a touch paranoid. We were in a room and he just found an ALICE pack and he went silent for a few seconds as I was peaking out of the doorway after I thought I heard movement outside. When I turn back to face him he had just readied a Makarov and was looking right at me and I just flipped that selector to auto and emptied a whole magazine from my suppressed M4A1 into him... He came onto my TS channel and HE was the one who said sorry that he should have said something. Another was when I was farming for tank traps for a barricade when a freshie came up to me and took me by surprised. He just laid down and said "just do it man..." I told him I wouldn't shoot an unarmed player. But my mate would! He exited to the west and I informed my compatriot and he recorded a nice video feed of trying to make the bloke comply. I just remember hearing "you shouldn't be running... YOU SHOULDN'T BE RUNNING!" followed by a good burst of gunfire.

Double homicide at Novy Sobor tents with a Mk 48 providing over watch for a group I joined. Had two blokes held up in a tent and we were trying to make them surrender. I emptied a belt into the tent after they were non-compliant and ended the stand off. Before that I was a very friendly player, the rest has been a slow but steady descent into the dark side of banditry. Yeah, stealing and killing are a huge rush. I wish I'd started at a much younger age. I caught the fever!
