If I had that gear I'd become a Chernarus superhero. Head to the coast, stalk the newbies from the tree line and observe their actions, kill anyone you see commit an act of banditry, protect the guys that work together. I do agree though that there is not much to do after you have all the gear. If I'm honest the game needs to be harder, it's actually really easy to survive if you play smart, but most choose to take risks because it's more fun. I could head to the woods straight away and keep my guy alive for days without needing any gear other than the makarov but it's more fun to try and survive in Electro or Cherno because there is actual challenge to it. -
Yeah, we need the option to lower our pistol and the option to put away both our weapon entirely.

I find the amount of murders in-game is exaggerated on the forums. I think I have been betrayed maybe once so far and only killed twice on sight. I've probably bumped into a few dozen people that didn't kill me though.

If I was rocket I'd be tempted to actually put big foot in the game, and not tell anyone about it. People would freak the fuck out.

Interesting because I'm pretty sure rocket said DayZ used to work like that in pre-alpha and "it isn't going back". I'll try to find that quote. EDIT: Meh can't find it, consider the above unconfirmed. -

The sad thing is, killing isn't even necessary. There's more than enough food to go around. -
It's an interesting idea. I don't see why we can't just spread spawns over the entire map instead of having a noob area and then the deserted woods. That way we might actually get a decent population outside of Elecktro/Cherno.

Nah, I like it the way it is. With your suggestion it'd be too easy to recover from near-wipes just by having one dude alive.

I think it's people re-spawning for better starting positions. The coast is generally littered with corpses of people that still have all there starting gear IE they weren't killed by bandits. -
Game purchase. You could sell new maps or something to sustain the game. Studio Developed. Both types of server. Might as well do a KickStarter.

The logical fallacy of keeping the day/night cycle

Force every server to use "DayZ Time". Each DayZ hour takes 45 minutes in real time, meaning the cycle repeats every 18 hours real time. This means no matter what your schedule/location you will get a variety of day and night play over the weeks or months. Just an example (assume the time was synced at midnight on monday. Day | In game time at 6pm GMT ----------------------------------- Monday | Midnight on Tuesday Tuesday | 8am Wednesday Wednesday | 4pm Thursday Thursday | Midnight on Saturday Friday | 8am Sunday Saturday | 4pm Monday Sunday | Midnight on Wednesday That way people can't really "puss out" of playing at night like they can now, but for those of us that have to mostly play in the evenings we still get a variety of different in game times to play with. I'd also like it if weather was synced across all servers too, to stop people hopping away from rain.
