I think it's just that Electro and Cherno are really easy to find, so they become the first stop for anyone that doesn't know the map well. Berezino just seems a little out of the way in comparison. -

I see a flaw in the disconnect prevention system. Server crashes would take an item off of all 50 players, and the item would be lost, because the server crashed. I like the way the construction system works though, was thinking of something similar but didn't really want it be a simple radius deal. That'd mean players are plonking fences down in totally odd places just for the no-spawn aura that they generate. -

This isn't really a suggestion for the actual mod, but I think it'd be nice. Just have a message near the other stats that says "Server is: UP/DOWN/You retards spammed it to death again!" I'm suggesting this because whenever the server does go down people repeatedly spam connections instead of actually giving up and coming back in an hour or so, which doesn't really help matters.

To be honest I think all this hyperbole about DMing is actually just people making assumptions about people they don't know. People say shit like "I kill everyone on sight because I can't trust them." then for some reason complain that "urrggh it's just DM now, everyone shoots on sight!". The cycle goes on. Seriously, if people wanted to "DM" there are many, many better games for that. No player looking for a deathmatch is going to run for 30-60 minutes for one kill that they might not get due to rampant lag.

I think DayZ is probably the best game I have played in years, and it's not even a game. Worth the $30? Hell yes.

I've sniped a guy with the crossbow from about 500m but in general it's not a very good weapon. The Makarov and 1911 are both quiet enough to not attract an entire town of zombies. -

I guessed the whisky bottles where a sign that we might get molotovs later. Empty Bottle + Petrol from Jerry Can or Tank = Molotov. -

Someone please explain this to me. Engine Limitations - Not really but having more enterable buildings would lower performance. I'm not sure it would be a colossal drop though as interiors aren't very detailed in ArmA. Remodelling - You'd need someone to edit the house model for each building that is closed off to give it an interior, then replace the ones in game. I think it could be feasible with community assistance. Once the buildings are modelled get volunteers to revamp a village each as it would be fairly simple. Then merge the changes at the end.

The hardcore bandits are just going to where whatever the latest survivor craze is though. More skins would be nice but they won't make it any easier to spot bandits. -
-Dogs are already being worked on. -Melee Weapons have already been suggested a million times. -I agree something does need to be done about zombies behaviour. -Tracking might require a bit too much server load, I dunno how feasible it'd be. -Meh about player infection.

I'm not sure but I think if you are killed instantly instead of bleeding out etc you don't hear what killed you. Someone shot me in the back of the head and I just went straight to "You are Dead" for no apparent reason. I only know about it because someone said "thanks for the shotgun." in chat. -
Make zombies easier to shoot but make it harder to just kite them? Sounds good. Though the reduced zombie speed would mean you can just run away.

I am generally more suspicious of female player models in all games. If it's an actual girl then I'm going to risk being sexist and say they are probably less likely to shoot you though. -
Think about it, all the real difficulty in the game is optional. You don't need to go to NW airfield and risk getting sniped, but you don't have anything better to do. You don't need to go to Electro or Cherno and risk the psychos that live there. But it's more fun than just running around in the woods for days. The mod does get a little boring unless you try and make it harder for yourself, I think it needs to be so brutally difficult that at all times we have to actively try and survive (even if you have NVG and some kind of uber-sniper), rather than acquire two tins of beans from looting and your set for an entire day. How do we do this? I don't really know for sure, but scarcer resources and more lethal zombies would be a start. This is more a general discussion about difficulty, but feel free to post your own ideas. Oh, and I know someone will bring it up so: Yes, the game is in Alpha. Alpha is the time to change this sort of stuff, that's the entire point. You can makes changes in Alpha that people would throw a shit-fit about in beta or release versions.

Got to agree with this. Your character does the massive spastic throw regardless of if you want to just light the damn thing and drop it. Also, it'd be cool if we could rethrow the flare after picking it up.
