What you fail, completely, to understand, is that things are never 100% as expected post patch, even when a game is not in alpha or beta. So, to cry out like you have never experienced this in any game, while calling those who point out the very obvious, that unexpected things like this happen ALL the time in games, retarded.....is actually beyond hilarious and ironic. Don't worry, once you get past puberty and mature, with age comes some realistic expectations in life (and gaming).

Whaaaaaaaaaaaa my virtual character in a virtual world during an alpha phase of a game was erased, whaaaaaa.
-
I look forward to seeing you frolic in the field on those "pve" servers, merrily unaware of the spinning lead football on it's way to the wide receiver of your head. Touchdown....

The harder the game, the fewer COD kiddies we have, the better.

SUGGESTION: Wearing the United Nations Beret puts you into PVE-Only mode

Wow, what a waste of internet bandwith, I can't believe this was actually posted. Heh... -
I laugh every single time I hear someone say "I asked if he was friendly". Do you really expect someone who is not friendly, to say no? Seriously, think about it. The only answer anyone will ever give to that question is yes, because you will either be asking someone who is friendly, and tells the truth, or someone who is deceiving you, and lies. If you can't think beyond "What are the possible outcomes to the question I'm asking", you're survival in a harsh environment such as DayZ will be very limited. Always expect the absolute worst, then when that doesn't happen, you can be pleasantly surprised, but you still never let your guard down.

Warning do not paint you Mosin 9130 !
Phantasm (DayZ) replied to Warheart's topic in General Discussion
I have been taking this opportunity to paint EVERY mosin I find. Sure it's a curse to some, but for my asshole survival ways, you can be sure I'll carry paint on me and nail every mosin I see. -
There is also a N, S, E, and W

Character roll-back after new patch?
Phantasm (DayZ) replied to Ugly (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
It's an alpha, this is normal in most alphas/betas. Do they really need to state the obvious for the oblivious? -
This, you're an idiot.

Pc build for Dayz and future gaming
Phantasm (DayZ) replied to krankiez's topic in General Discussion
650ti is a bad choice. At minimum, you want a 660+, I run a 760 evga gtx and it's comparable to a 670. For cpu, try to stay away from AMD, DayZ performs much better on intel cpus. -
New Stuff never found before and never mentioned in patch notes
Phantasm (DayZ) replied to Funkmasterflex's topic in General Discussion
Before, loot was not spawning at all in the white barns. What I'm saying now is, upon server reset, loot is spawning in the white barns, and there are some loot spots in the barn that were not in the mod. -

Phantasm (DayZ) replied to Funkmasterflex's topic in General Discussion
I found this, hadn't seen one before, so not sure if this is new or I just never seen one before. Also to note, loot is spawning properly in white barns. ;) One other thing, the moon now has phases, quite stunning to see the crescent moon at night.- 92 replies

PSA: Friendly servers make no sense ATM
Phantasm (DayZ) replied to Magicks's topic in General Discussion

Color degradation from blood loss has to go (loss of visual fidelity)

Seriously, watch the videos, the 2 effects are the result of 2 different things. -
Whats going to be in 0.31.114160
Phantasm (DayZ) replied to Wernsley (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Uh, explosions ARE in game. I knew what it was at the beginning of your story. Gas stations can currently blow up if you hit or shoot at a pump enough. That popup you got was likely a missing binconfig file that everyone has been experiencing when a gas station explodes. Go look on YouTube for gas station roulette.....this isn't something new. -

Desauration and bluriness are a part of the game. They need to stay in and they WILL stay in. Dean has stated numerous times this is done to give your character a sense of realism rather then have alot of different little indicator bars to manage, which I couldn't agree with more. IRL you don't have little indicator bars, and Dean never liked the indicator bars in the mod. This is a pretty core feature of the stand alone and I love it. It is fine as is -
"Friendlies" are just a bunch of lamers
Phantasm (DayZ) replied to gamerer's topic in General Discussion
This is exactly how I feel everytime I hear someone hurrdely scream out 'friendly'. It makes me cringe to the point where my normal first reaction is to put a bullet in their head because it just comes across as so weak. I've been asked in the past how I respond to coming across to new people ingame and I always make it a point of saying I never scream out friendly nor respect those that do, it just seems like a huge copout to me. I may try to start a conversation but 'friendly friendly' just sounds to much like 'dont shoot please dont kill me' that I can't say it, just sounds to much like a little kid whining to me. If I come across someone who has a CoD kid type voice, or sounds younger then 18, I am VERY inclined to handcuff them then execute them vietcong style, whereas if someone sounds mature and perhaps starts a conversation that doesn't immediately begin with 'friendly friendly', I'm more inclined to communicate back. I just get the impression most <18 yr olds don't say friendly until you catch them sneaking up on you trying to knock you out, then they want to be all buddy buddy. -
I fell off a 4 foot embankment, as I was on my way down, I expected a black screen of death, having dealth with that in Arma, luckily it was only a broken leg, and even luckier I had morphine on me. It happens.

The main reason why there are things like bluriness, desauration, grunting noises, and things your character is saying/feeling, is because Dean wants the game to be more immersive, rather then have players rely on a bunch of health and status bars. It adds a bit of realism to the game and I enjoy it over health bars, too. The reason why food/water doesn't immediately give you the healthy status is again for immersion/realism, it takes time to digest. When you clean your wounds, it takes about 5 minutes to pass before you get green text saying "your wounds are clean". There might be an issue with 'sick' overwriting the healthy status, if you feel like you should have the status, getting hit by a zombie so you force the game to check to see at what rate you should be healing is performed, is one way to update it. If you have desaturation/bluriness then you're definitely not at 100%. And to answer your other question, no, there is no way to give yourself a bloodbag or saline bag. The only way for a solo player to get blood back is through regeneration.
-
There isn't any issue with reading comprehension, when someone is assuming that vitamins and cleaning wounds affects his initial healthy status. When someone is thinking along those lines, he's confused as to what or why the status is caused, which is why I state the first obvious possible resolution (ie. - people think when hunger is gone, they're full). Merino also mentioned a bug (which I wasn't aware of, gasp) concerning 'sick' overwriting 'healthy', then when sick goes away, sometimes healthy won't show up. I know for a fact I have had the sick state (after cleaning wounds with alcohol) and after it was gone healthy reappeared for me. Healthy and healing are the same state, you just get healing when the regeneration is kicking in, ie you took damage and you're below 5,000 health. You're obviously healthy when you're at 5,000 health. You're quick to jump up and shout idiot when there are many others including myself who have never seen this issue and are trying to remedy it. I wasn't aware OP stated in his post he was playing on 1st person servers, although I could see them removing it to increase difficulty, that makes sense to me. If people leave out details like this, it makes the issue a little foggy. Perhaps it isn't my comprehension that needs work.

Just because you're no longer hungry or thirsty does not mean you have consumed ENOUGH to reach healthy status, simple as that. I'll say it again, I have NEVER had an issue reaching healthy because I eat as much as I can, then drink to fill the rest of the way up (until I'm stuffed), then 20mins later, repeat, with as much as food as I can find first, then liquid. Continue eating everything, then topping off with liquid. The important thing to remember is that it takes TIME for you to get the benefits of the food when you eat it, all food has a time it takes for it to absorb into your energy storage. If you're running around for hours and can't reach healthy, you are simply doing it wrong, there's no other reason then that.
