  1. Was banned along with about 30ish others tonight at 7pm cst or so. Just curious what that was about. Name: Asshole Mountain edit: appears to be taken care of. Thx.
  2. Fair enough. I first started when Arma2 went on sale during the steam summer sale. I remember alt-f4ing was a problem for a couple days and then the scripting started up and got way out of hand. Couldn't play for an hour without running into someone being a cunt. At this point if i saw someone alt-f4 I was generally just glad he didn't have god mode on so it didn't bug me too much. Being forced to get killed by a hacker seems like a bigger issue than alt-f4ing to me though.
  3. Hacking/cheating/scripting. The results are usually the same. Alt-f4ing to deny the scripter/hacker/cheater the kill is not the fucking same as teleporting a server into mid air causing dozens of players to lose all their stuff. Comparing the two is ridiculous. I have no problem getting killed by a legit player. I like starting fresh, its probably the best part of the game. On the other hand I don't like hiking to the airfield for 20mins only to have some invincible hacker teleport 10ft away to kill me. So I would alt-f4 and find another server. Problem was at least when I was playing, just about every server had cheaters so I eventually gave it up. Can anyone recommend some good populated private hives?
  4. Obviously meant cant in the title. doh. I have not played in quite a while and was just wondering if hacking is still happening in every server. Alt-f4 was your only real defense against it.

    Is this game dying?

Of course it is. The hacking isn't as bad as it was a couple weeks ago but its still going to keep driving people away. The game already takes a certain amount of patience so that alone will make people find other shit to play. The hacking just makes it much easier to decide your wasting your fucking time. The loot hunt is gone for most people because you can find ridiculous gear if you just look around cherno/electro. Always a bunch of corpses/tents with stuff on them. Zombies are not a threat so people like myself stick to pvp. Not much reason to leave the coast in search for better stuff. With CS:GO out and Guild Wars 2 a couple days away I will probably let this game go for now. Perhaps i'll check it out when stand alone is closer to release.

    Dayz's latest hack

I cant believe people like hackers more than bandits.
  7. Mr Radar

    I don't normally hack...but

    How I picture hackers.

    Nice deathmatch you got there

I shoot on sight about 90% of the time because its fun and chances are the other person is going to shoot you anyway. Even if they don't shoot what do you do? I am honestly curious. We could go our separate ways and potentially shoot each other later. We could work together but I likely couldn't trust the each other. I tried working together with someone once. I was trying to help him find a weapon and the dumbass left his mic on. I could hear him tell his friend that he was gonna shoot me when he finds one. I made short work of him and pretty much ended my work together days there. If you dont like pvp then stay away from Balota, Cherno, Prig, Electro and otmel. The rest of the map is pretty much yours because traveling across the map is usually a giant waste of time without a vehicle. Last time I made my way to the airfield and chopper spawn areas a hacker teleported to me and as50ed me. Spent about 2 hours collecting gear just to be killed by a hacker. So if im gonna die ill do it pvping at the bottom of the map. Loot is easy as fuck to come by with the massive amounts of duping/hacking so that part of the game is pretty much gone. Run around cherno/electro and you will probably come across at least one as50 and a half dozen m4s/m16s of various types. As I have said many times in these whiny bitch threads, the survival part of the game is a joke right now. Hold down W and point your camera north, congrats you survived the zombie apocalypse. No I dont play fucking CoD so stop assuming everyone that likes to pvp in games is a "cod kid." The last CoD I played with any type of seriousness was CoD2. I have about 45mins played of cod:mw1 and that was enough to convince me to give up the series
  9. The cheaters/dupers are causing the problems. Not the high end gear. Sure the AS50, m107, and nightvision are all extremely out of place in the game but if their was no duping then they really wouldn't be an issue. Problem is their are probably 5+ on any server with more than 20 people. It is nearly impossible to talk about balance in the game at all until hacking is taken care of. Unfortunately pretty much every server with a halfway decent amount of players on it has at least one hacker on it with probably 3+ weapon dupers. No one really knows how the game should play out without cheats.

    I don't mind bandits...

I always see people bitch about bandits. Would you guys really play the game without the ability to kill each other? What is their to even do besides pvp? Surviving isn't really difficult.
  11. Mr Radar

    Favorite server to play on?

Whichever one doesn't have 900 fuck heads running around with god mode. .
  12. Mr Radar

    Scumbags.

I will occasionally help someone, but most of the time its shoot on sight. Why? Because that's all their really is in the game right now. Plus this game has rewarding kills. The "he must be a CoD idiot if he shoots on sight" bullshit is ridiculous. People liked shooting each other in FPS games long before CoD. This is actually the only FPS I am playing right now. CoD is terrible and most of my friends dont have BF3 because Origin is shitty. Mount and Blade and Dayz take up most of my gaming time. What am I helping someone with anyway? Surviving against the zombies? That is easy, just hold down W. Congrats you win. I mean I could heal them up, get them a weapon and we could work together and that would be all well and good until we run into another player and their "lets find out if hes friendly" attitude gets us killed. Or they turn on me after they get a weapon. Maybe you go your separate ways. Chances are I will just shoot them next I see them anyway. Of course all this is dependent on a hacker not ruining the game anyway.
  13. The current vehicle system is ok for those who like the survival aspect of the game. Building a camp, collecting supplies, collecting weapons and vehicles, etc. I personally have no desire to strictly play for survival. Surviving in this game involves holding down W and running anywhere that isn't the southern coast. Chances of you getting killed are VERY low. Why? Because very few people head north because the chances of finding a vehicle are way too slim. You can check every spawn on the map and not find a vehicle. I generally want to find a decent weapon and pvp. So from my point of view it would be great if I could find a vehicle every now and then. A vehicle spawn in half the towns on a 6 hour spawn or so sounds good to me. This doesn't mean parts/fuel have to be easy to come by. People would most likely have to head top industrial areas to find a good supply. I would also make vehicles that have not been used for 24 hours despawn if they are away from a spawn point. If they were some what common then traveling by vehicle would be dangerous. People would likely set up ambushes on well traveled roads. Tank traps would have a use. The airfield and surrounding chopper crashes would turn into death zones. Berezino and Stary would become way more active.
