I have a server from www.defconservers.com. They have a location in San Jose, CA which should work for you. Server runs smooth as glass and except for the annoying beta updates every other week I don't have any complaints.

We should team up sometime. I've been doing the exact same thing. Most times when they hear sniper rounds going off they as you said either high tail it out of there or hit the deck. Just this afternoon way out in the NW I helped out a guy and he took off for the hills, Now being I'm out in the middle of nowhere decided to follow him for something to do. About 45 minutes later we hit another village and bam I start taking out zeds, The guy never said anything but I could almost hear him thinking WTF? Makes my day :)

Honestly I think the SVD is louder.

I've been playing on this server the past week or so and remember a player named Fish the other night. I didn't hear anything weird but after I logged back in I had the same experience as the poster above. On the beach with all my gear.. No idea if that's related but it happened twice now.

Either your lying about how many servers on each machine or the specs of the servers. So which is it? The lowest server quoted will cost you min. $200/mo. If your putting 3-5 servers on each your bringing in $75-$125. per server? I highly doubt your losing money here. My guess is the customer is losing. Buyer beware! Business must be real slow to come up with this scam.

I'm pulling sniper duty with my trusty DMR and 1911 sidearm. I've tried just about every sniper but for some reason really love the DMR. Great gun!

I had the exact same thing happen about 4pmEST today. Logged in a server and I was on the beach. I though I died but still had my gear and weapon. Weird?

They should let us turn Friendly Fire on and off in your servers just like you can in most other games. That way the guys who like that style can have at it and leave the ones like the OP alone to live off the land and enjoy the game his way. I happen to play the same and always manage to run into someone shooting for no good reason. Just this morning I was shot coming off the beach. WTF? Did you need a bandage that bad? I would have gladly given it to you sir.

There was a thread around here about a bug with new servers over a certain range taking up to 3 days to spawn vehicles. Do a search and it should come up. my clan has a server with defcon and haven't had any problems at all with it. I read the threads about them before buying and from what I read it was a tech who went nuts and was later fired over it. Thats good enough for me and besides like the OP said EVERY host has problems so you roll the dice. At least with defcon we didn't wait 2 days for the server. my server was up in 1 1/2 hours and runs perfect. I've put in tickets with support too and they were very nice and helpful so for me it was a good decision.

Open your server cfg and you should see: battleye =0 <------- Change that to 1

That means battleye's disabled. I forgot the exact command but can reply back with it.

I ordered a server about 2 weeks ago and ~only~ had to wait 4 days for it to be available which didn't bug me. What bugged me was getting the "Server is out of date" or what ever it is error and putting in a ticket only to have it go unanswered for 3 days straight. So I said screw it and requested a cancel. I pay good money for something I should get something in return. The lame excuses of being under-staffed or a small company don't cut it! If you cannot meet the demands don't put "instant setup". Simple idea! For what it's worth I went and bought a server from defconservers and was shocked to get the server details less then 1 1/2 hours later. WTF? I thought it was a mistake or at best the server wouldn't work. There's got to be a catch somewhere! But sure as shit I pulled up six-launcher and started playing! WooHoo! So say what you will about defcon when i wanted a server they produced one and I'm playing instead of listening to excuses! :) Peace!

Could be a few things. Have you tried contacting vilayer? Your paying for the service so they should be fixing it for you. Just saying
