server: FI21 time: 23:40 GMT +2 Me and my friend were playing on this FI21 server. My friend was shot when we were at Lopatino. I was hiding in a workshop with all doors closed and waited there till I was shot throught the door.

The only thing that is wrong with this new patch is that it was freaking late and it did not fix the graphic glitches. Those should have been fixed as soon as possible. Maybe just go with the old patch since it was not broken earlier. But now its ok and not impossible to play I guess.

Tiiän, että ovien läpi voi ampua, mutta se että istun monta minuuttia täysin paikallani ovet kiinni, niin kukaan ilman cheatteja ei pysty tietämään, että istun jossain tietyssä kohtaa ja ampuu siitä vaan läpi. I just answered in finnish to that prewious question. Pasadenasman its good to hear that it most probably was that cheater. I was very frustrated since we got decent gear and it really felt impossible that somebody could have just shot me like that through the door without cheats.

I really think this could be easily improved! Those are good suggestions! If you think about it: This game has zombies that can see you, hear you, run after you, try to kill you. Most of the animals are just the opposite. Animals would try to run away when they detect you. Then players should actually try to hunt the animals and try to sneak in a position to shoot them. Now it is kinda too easy and one can simply eat a whole cow and restore all the health.

I dont know if you guys have been into army or have tried shooting at somewhere else but I have. So here's some things I think about guns and shooting. Shooting is not that hard but games can never achieve full realism. I think this game has very realistic weapons. Bullets in this game wont fly straight so you can't just aim to horizon and hit something and bullets have velocity depending on the gun. Shooting close range which is the usual situation in game is actually fairly easy also shooting in distance at static target is still fairly easy, though it is much much more harder when you are on a knee or specially standing. So try to hit a moving target in distance in this game and tell me is it easy. I think best way to avoid getting shot is to keep moving. Guns are so powerful that I believe their damage should definently not be changed. These things also applies in real life. Things that SHOULD or could be changed: - 3rd person mode because with it you can have significant advantage over another player. For example you can be behind a wall and watch over it and somebody on the other side has no change of seeing you. SO it is significant infair advantage. - Any external crosshairs of course. It is still possible to aim without iron sight. - gun shot sounds should be hugely increased in terms of players hearing them. For example the sound created by AK type assault rifle will be heard clearily over kilometer away. Im not sure how far but much more than now in Arma. - Shootin crouched and standing should be much more difficoult. Aiming crouched is far more difficoult than one would think without trying it. Also aiming at standing position is very hard. With a long barreled sniper it is actually impossible without any support. The heavier the gun is its harder to aim standing/crouched. But MP5 and pistols should be pretty easy to aim at standin because they are fairly light even with full ammo. Anytime when the gun can be supported against something static aiming is much more easier. Well I am realism freak and always looking things from real life aspect. It doesnt work always but in this game those things could work. Also im pretty happy with things being as they are. This game is brutal and I have been shot few times. I really like fire fights in this game since it is very satisfying to have somebody killed. I've got sniped in a field because I was lying down and I did not run away when I could have been safe. I had absolutely no change when I just laid there but I was not much aggrowated about it. I think it was fair situation since somebody had seen seen me there. Omg now I finish since I could go on forever with these things. xD so long post haha!

Im sure there will be more reinforced cars etc but if you really think about what you did: Shooting a driver, ofcourse the others could die easily! Think in real life when you are driving a car and somebody shoots the driver or the wheels of the car, as a passenger youre fucked! Theres nothing you can do about it.

Windows XP is not the issue. I have win7 and have had crashing problem too. I cant play the damn game. Try put your graphics to the "very low" and let me know if it has any effect to this.

I have had freezing problem too for 4 weeks now (Been also "spamming" it in here). I also have tried almost everything to get it work. For me freeze happens about 5 min in game with very high settings and on low it works much longer. But I have High-End gaming PC so its bullshit to play it on low! It is not exactly the same problem for me the whole PC freezes. And I am sure that it is not your computers problem if everything else works. I really wish I could help! Next I probably try reinstalling Windows and/or try another GPU if I can.

This game's a bitch. Trust me that there is nothing wrong with my PC playing/doing anything else than this game. This game just doesnt happen to work in some computers and there seems to be no solution. I am trying to find solution to my freezing problem. But only option at this stage seems to be reinstall Windows which I will maybe do some day. I wish I could help!

I am becoming sure that this game is just completely fucked up. I have had crashing problem for 4 weeks now and I have tried everything. Latest try was to clean up GPU drivers and fresh install new ones. Nothing helps. Im just posting because I am also very interested of any ideas and telling you are not alone. I am super frustrated and slowly giving up for this game.

Crashes everything? Does your PC crash completely? Do you have to restart your PC? C'mon tell what happens. I have had 4 weeks of crashing after 5 mins of gaming and I have tried everything. But you should explain the situation clearly.

Copy "addons" folder from Arma 2 folder to Arma 2 oa "addons" folder. IT IS THAT SIMPLE!

Hey! What did you do to fix that crash problem? Please tell me EVERYTHING you did to fix it! I have had that problem FOR 4 WEEKS! And I have tried everything I know!

I have this kind of a problem, but my PC just crashes completely and "monitor goes to sleep" and I have to force shut down my PC. I think it might be for the same reason. Unfortunately I have been trying to fix this problem for 4 WEEKS! And I am out of ideas! BTW: Try the game with the lowest graphics and tell if it delays this problem. Because I can sometimes play long time with lowest graphics but really its stupid because I have high end PC I don't have FPS problems with very high options. This problem is just so frustrating and I have tried almost everything.

The easiest way to fix this is to merge the "Addons" folders. Go to "arma 2" folder and copy "addons". Then go to "Arma 2 OA" folder and find "Addons" folder there and then just copy it there but dont replace any of the existing files.

Just saying that spawning with only stick and flashlight is not a good idea. There would be even more hunters on the coast just to kill everybody spawning just for "fun". And they wouldnt have almost any threat because spawners could not defend them selves. Just game mechanically stupid idea.

Its possible to go over those with V you just aint doing it right. I dont know what youre doing it wrong or maybe they are buggy sometimes but it still is possible.

Just think that parachute for a second: - Every time you start playing you would have to wait like 1-2 minutes to get down. If you ever played Arma where there's missions like that. Okay its not a long time but imagine to do that every time! - Second you would always be so freaking vulnerable in the sky. You could not do anything and if someone saw you, you would be fucked. Players would try to kill you even before you are landed and there's NOTHING for you to prevent that. As the second idea. That's better one.

Your right. Maybe remove the +blood that food give's you and just add blood regen? I'm sure over a long period of time of course you would die from starvation and dehydration. But I still think blood would pump and regen slightly before you did. I'm not in anyway familiar with how exactly blood regens in the body. But I'd think that it would in some way even without food and water. /shrug Blood will not regen in the body without eating or drinking. Eating and drinking is the most important and basic thing you need to do to live. You cant live without drinking and your body constantly needs fluids to operate. So basically this means that body will not regenerate blood without eating or drinking. I am neither a doctor but I assume body will regenerate blood pretty slow. But we can still give blood donations etc. and it doesnt effect us much. So if you wanted game to add regeneration it should be like you said: When you eat you get regeneration for some time and it would not be instant regen. But I think its kinda useless and it would just slow down the game. I think its not that wrong just to get blood from eating. So I still say its not right to have regen just for nothing it does not make sense at all and this is a simulation. After all body needs fluids just to operate. Haha, i think im going almost too far with this (its still a game) xD. I just got it: In the game you need to eat and drink, so basically youre forced to do those to survive. So actually regeneration will eventually happen xD! So its not such a bad idea. Thou it should be real slow. I mean like in matter of hours you would regen only little. Well I have no better things to do than write here. I have random Black Screens at the game and there seems to be no cure for that!

I think only thing these settlements could offer would be light at night. If it was possible to repair generators and lights in towns. That could be very awesome. But actually theres not much more things city could offer than able to store loots. Loots would not respawn so you could not stay there forever. But when thinking this further actually "building" base with friends somewhere in the woods for example is already possible. So actually making city your base would just be very dangerous. More likely bandits would come to get you and your stuff. But this option still is interesting. It would not ruin the game...

I think this idea is worth developing. It would be nice if players would be able to fix electricity and lights. You could fix power plant and then control the lights. Of course you need energy source and lights could not be on 24/7 if theres no energy. So if you want to save some you should shut the lights during day time and so on. These kind of upgrades are be pretty complicated :D but how cool that would be!!! Actually make the city to live again! Imagine the possibilities!

I think health regen is bad idea. First of all you dont suffer at all for being little less blood. When you're like 7000 blood its starts to have some effect. Like in real life you can bleed some but it has no serious effects. You already get blood from food and especially self cooked food. So basically that is the effect you are saying. Our own blood does not magically regenerate we have to eat and drink. So NO regeneration. It is stupid and unrealistic in my mind.
