No need to get aggressive. Just because it shares a location, doesn;t mean it shares a history. Ever read a fictional book or movie? It might be an exaggeration, but I think you'll be surprised how massive it is. We can work it out otherways, What was the total BE + VAC bans for WC 23rd? Simply divide that as a proportion of sales over the same period. I assume as the GUID is tied to the steam account you have access to the Steam ID's? then lets see how many of these banned peoples steam accounts have just a single game. I would be more than interested in these published figures.

In a twisted way these hackers are supporting the development of the game. I obviously cant prove this, but I believe the only reason this game remains in the top10 of steam is purely because of all the hacking. Would be interesting report to get steam to calculate how many steam accounts solely have Dayz on them - 99% of these will be hacking accounts.

I'd actually like to see expansions in the future based on a US map, fill your boots with western rifles then!

Other than broadly sharing the same map, whats the official relationship or story linking Arma2 to Dayz? I be interested in seeing something from an official source.

I wouldn't lose a second of sleep over them removing the M4 for good, or at least from regular loot stables making it a restricted only item. There are a plethora of civilian and eastern block weapons that would be better fit for the game. The only reason I think its keeps appearing in dayz through its various incarnations is to appease the extremely vocal American player base.

Problem with the blaze is hits as hard as the mosin, but fires twice as quick, especially with a speedloader. Once the Mosin gets its LRS removed the blaze suddenly becomes alot more balanced in comparison, exchanging accuracy for dps. What we want to avoid is power creep, where you get one gun, like the mosin, and all guns are brought up its standard. Its better instead if they instead just lowered the Mosin to Blaze performance. The .22 however needs a purpose and needs buffing to be brought up in line. I'd like to see its range potential increased to 2-300m (from 50!), ability to fit a hunting suppressor, and hunting scope. This would make it the perfect survivor weapon for clearing zeds out of towns, while its low damage make it totally unviable for PVP. 10 round mags need to be found in residential though.

Once they balance the dispersion in this game you'll come to appreciate it i think. Mosin loses its LRS for PU only (but still good out to 600m (if you can even see em that is)) SKS dispersion PU only (500m) AK short range PSO-1 but other redundant with wild displacment (300m) CZ will have a LRS (or equivalent) should be be long range (800m) So basically it be the only realistic option for snipers. Mosin gets relegated right down the list once it loses the LRS.

My friend is new bless him, only 5 hours in and he was so keen to do his looting on this "friendly" server. In his defence he'd actually met a couple of teams at the airfields and not been KOS. But I continued to tell him its foolish, not being shot at the airfield is like winning the lottery. So I reiterated over and over to keep his head down and avoid people like the plague. But yesterday he's in a police station, and he see's someone enter the building all tacticooled up, he ran right up behind him shouting "I'm behind you, don't shoot, friendly, friendly, im completely unarmed" this guy turned around and shot him dead. It was a tough lesson for my friend. Especially as that tacticool guy was me.

I doubt they make any money at all from the server companies, i suspect there's a agreement in place where they have to sponsor the public servers in return for the ability to rent out servers to individuals following a like for like spec requirement. However, my point is while we're all in agreement that Bohemia aren't getting paid, if you didn't have private servers, you wouldn't have server companies, therefore you wouldn't have any public servers and so ultimately Bohemia are left picking up the bill to host all 1million active users. Which would definitely not be cheap! So what were left with is a environment, ultimately hosted and sponsored by the public. So you jump onto little harrys' server, your subject to however he chooses to run that server. You can complain, but no one will do anything because everyone wins with him hosting that server. So lets just accept that some servers are run betters than others, and just go find another. But i draw the line at publicly throwing insults at him, because ultimately he's not running the server for you're benefit. What I do suggest is perhaps having a blacklist on the server screen. So if you do have a bad experience on a server, you never need see it come up.

Those rules are neither enforced or enforceable. Its essentially just a good practice guide. That's because if they went around every server waving the ban hammer every time an admin took advantage of their position you'll soon find a very empty game table. Bohemia, just like you need these private admins to populate the game tables with their hard earned, infact they so badly want to distance themselves from potentially upseting these servers admins they dont even deal with complaints direct, they ask you to direct complaints to the server providers instead (and they're not going to listen to you either, as the server admin is their customer, not you!). So everyone turns a blind eye. So perhaps the community should accept the price of using these services for free, just like everyone else has in the chain. Failing that, put your hand in your pocket and buy your own 100% never abused server and play on that, or any of the public servers.

No, its because i spend all day fucking around the all-entitled lazy public on a day to day basis. Except here i can actually say "no, your wrong, he's contributing more to this community than you ever will all for this tiny little perk (or curse depending on your position). So after being in is house, enjoying his food. At is table. You then have the cheek to complain that he wont let you kill him. I mean seriously, if he didn't run the server in the first place the situation wouldn't even have materialised.

No but putting them in the same league as hackers etc is a bit unfair giving they're actually contributing something to the community. And really, we're all capable of server hopping which is no different to just pressing the restart button

It only ruins it for himself, which actually is debatable seeing as he's choosing to pay to host a server to potentially avoid permadeath in the first place. Personally i find it disgusting people paying their hard earned cash and being forced to share their server with the ungrateful/duping/hacking public. If they took away the ability to restart servers you soon find only the few hackfest call-of-berezino public servers remaining. I for one am quite happy to have a few admins able to restock/restore themselves at the cost of having access to thousands of servers being sponsored. A small price to pay i think.

I know the rules, and im sure he does too. But the fact is he's not hosting that $50 pm server to make YOU happy is he.

He's funding this server, so his house, his rules. Plenty of public servers for you to use or feel free to hire your own.
