Swapped my Winchester for an M1014...

I like to play on servers without nameplates, third person, or crosshairs generally, for that shit-yourself feel. Won't turn down an AS50 though!

Swapped my Winchester for an M1014...

Yeah I'm pretty pleased with it, it was just a whim to head off into the north looking for a crash site and found one within half an hour. All I need is a full-auto rifle with a sight and some NVGs now. No doubt I'll clip through some rocks and die when I next play.

Swapped my Winchester for an M1014...

Nevermind, I dumped it for an M14 AIM, I didn't trust my M1014 anyway, so w00t! Don't know why I collect these weapons, the only encounters I've ever had with survivors has gone one of two ways - getting killed instantly without seeing them, or me spotting them and hiding for an hour.
  4. But I swithered for a time. I had plenty of ammo for the Winchester, it takes down zeds in one shot, and is fairly quiet too. Whereas now I only have 8 shells, the M1014 is louder, and doesn't always seem to do as much damage depending on which ammo you use. I basically picked it up because it was rare, but maybe I should have stuck with the dependable Winchester? I also have an AK74 so no biggie, but still. Any similar weapon dilemmas?

My biggest concern about this going stand-a-lone

I guess it will also signify the end of the Coca Cola vs Pepsi experiment. And we'd just about found the answer too.

    My DayZ Story

Sounds like you've been mega-lucky my friend.

The Regulators are looking for good people

OK cool I'm in then. I'll sign up on the forums and and add the tag to my name later on today or tomorrow. My current character has just reached self sufficiency with food and water so ready to branch out. BTW have any of you tried DayZ Commander? I haven't but it looks like a good way to keep track of friends - every regulator could add one another and have access to every server they're operating in,

The Regulators are looking for good people

Interesting. I guess this is more of a player ethos, with the name, or brand even, being used to promote that ethos? I like it, but I think a more organised group would be useful as well. Do you have larger group assignments sometimes, or call in help for certain servers? Also, I guess we wouldn't be much good if we're always dead and low on gear because of the trusting nature. Do you regularly share equipment?

You should be able to leave notes lying around

Really? I'll be voting that up every time, penis is hilarious. Just like Dark Souls, in the chamber just before the Giant Buxom Goddess in Anor Londo, there is always a note saying 'Amazing Chest Ahead'. I vote them up every time.

So after a few days of playing...

Yes, today I had my first teleport to some sort of arena surrounded by every other player. I logged the fck out of there asap, but if I died and lost my map I'll be furious. It also appeared to be one of the airfields, so if I spawn back in there and get shot by some dick in a ghillie suit with a DMR I'll be, yes, SUPER-FURIOUS.

Server's failing to connect to BE Master

Same problem here, guess we'll have to wait it out. Will try again in a couple of hours...will find my character right in the middle of a zombie area when I return too, haha.
  13. Cool I'll give that a go - I think I had got the double barrel quite recently before logging out. Thanks BRO
  14. Hi there, Just finally got a decent PC so instantly got ARMAII and DayZ, had my on both for a while now. DayZ is great fun, and I've only had a couple of technical issues. Did a quick search and couldn't find anything relevant to the first and nothing that seems to be the root for my second. Here goes: Wherever I look, the distance seems to waver, almost like there's a heat wave. It actually comes across as quite psychedelic and dreamlike, so I don't actually hate it, but I was wondering on any possible causes - I haven't played around with the visual settings since I'm pretty n00bish with this kind of thing. Reloading a character is also a little temperamental - for example, I've had to choose my gender - you know, that option you can never change - each time I've died. The first time I left and re-entered, I lost my double barrel shotgun but kept everythign else. Another time it didn't reload my previous character, so started anew, died (it was dark), then when I respawned I was the previous character which didn't reload! Not tried it since and I'm hoping that's it settled down (I changed some profiles in between some of these), but again any pointers in the right direction are appreciated, No major problems though, overall I'm having a blast. Except for the guy who hatcheted me in the legs in the supermarket when we were surrounded by zombies, getting himself and myself killed...why would you do that?! OH THE HUMANITY
