vehicles need to be more common

I like this. Where did all the cars go? Did they vaporise when the outbreak happened? There should be more cars, but 95% of them have no fuel, missing parts, or are broken.

    Morale

So here is my idea: Overview: Morale would be another icon above the thirst, hunger, eyesight etc in the shape of either a head or brain. Basically, when something happens, it may decrease or increase depending on what it is. As it lowers, the icon turns from green, to dark green, to red, to black. It shows the mental state, confidence and enthusiasm of the player. Decreasing morale: - Zombies - Getting into fist fights with zombies will lower your morale significantly. - Firefights - Getting into a firefight will lower your morale significantly. The closer bullets get to you, the more it will drop. However, you will lose more morale the first 2 or 3 times you get into a firefight. After that you still lose morale but not as much. - Night time - Unless you have a light source, anything that happens could slightly lower your morale. - Wounds - Slowly lowers morale. The bigger the wound (broken limb, bullet wounds) the faster and more morale is lost. - Killing - Would lower morale noticably. - Hunger, thirst - Slowly lowers morale. Effects of decreased morale: 100% - 95% - Mild shaking, hardly noticable. 95% - 85% - Slightly more noticable shaking, occasion cough. 85% - 75% - More noticable shaking, short breaths. 85% - 65% - Moderately noticable shaking, slightly heavier breathing, occasional cough. 65% - 50% - All of the above, hunger and thirst drops slightly faster. 50% - 40% - Frequent coughing, noticable shaking. Slightly heavier breathing, 40% - 30% - Shaking equivilent to that of pain. Constant heavy breathing. 30% - 15% - All of the above, Constant heavy breathing and coughing. Moderately occasional vomiting. Slightly blurred vision. 15% - 5% - All of the above, hearing things (zombie growls, footsteps, screams if you're a bandit etc) These would be faint, but get louder every now and again. NO HALLUCINATIONS. That would be stupid. Vomiting, blurred vision. 5% - 0% - You are a shaking pile of mucus covered slop. You constantly shake, vomit, cough and can't see. You are not far off death. The slightest noise could set you into another session of mucus expulsion. Increasing morale: - Finding loot - For every time you place your crosshair over a loot item and display its name, your morale will go up very slightly. Finding vehicles will increase morale alot more. This only applies if the loot has not been touched by anyone else, so you can't get buddies to empty their backpack for your problems. Finding weapons/ammo will replenish slightly more morale. - Campfires - Campfires will significantly increase your morale. - Friendly survivors - eg. trading items, talking with them, walking with them etc will increase morale over time. - Guitars - Should be added. This would increase morale over time, faster with friends and even faster with a campfire...and friends. Well, thats it, I may add some more stuff when I think of it. Please comment!

    Little....'help'

Ha, I bet you thought this thread was about penises, didn't you, you sick minded fools! So heres the story: A couple of my friends wanted to play DayZ so I lent them my retail copy of ArmA 2 OA so they could try it out. I don't think any of them play it anymore and I purchased ArmA X from Steam, so I was wondering: 1- What exactly gets banned; your IP address or the CD-Key? I don't want to be permantely banned from ArmA, just all the copies floating out around there. 2- Whats the quickest way to get banned? Would doing that be worth it, or should I just keep it, since banning the code will make keeping the game obselete? Thanks

    Little....'help'

Ohh, OK then. So the people I lent it to can still play SP, but no multiplayer?

    Player getting repeatedly killed?

Either he sucks, or you should change servers. Go back later (hopefully) when you feel confident.

    Laptop players? Your specs

I saw a laptop in a JB HIFI catalouge which was pretty fackin' cool. Intel Core i7 @ 3.2GHz Radeon 7750 1TB HDD The only downside was the RAM, only 4 Gigs, but it was only about $750 AUD, so there you go, there are good laptops out there.

    New To Dayz

The CPU would need to be at least 3.0GHz for smooth gameplay. The GPU needs to be in the higher end if you want excellent quality, otherwise anything else should run it on low. 8 gigs of RAM is ideal and also improves performance. If you can find a laptop that includes all that (which I have, in a JB-HI FI catalouge, 3.2GHz, Radeon 7750 and 1TB HDD, only for about $750 AUD.) I will be surprised. And BeastOverlord is right, building it will save you money and is pretty easy.

    New To Dayz

Laptops will struggle with DayZ/ArmA. Desktops are the way to go.

    Wait for host.....

I think the "No message recieved for x" means the server restarted. Just keep trying it should work.
  11. Helloo, this isn't a 'Can this run DayZ' thread, so save the complaints for later. Here are the parts I am going to get in a month or two: CPU: Intel Core i5-3570k @ 3.4GHz $239 http://au.pcpartpick...-bx80637i53570k MOBO: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 $135 http://au.pcpartpick...ard-z77extreme4 RAM: Corsair Vengance 8GB $72 http://au.pcpartpick...ml8gx3m2a1600c9 HDD: Western Digital 1TB* $69 http://au.pcpartpick...-drive-wd10ezex G. CARD: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 1GB $189 http://au.pcpartpick...ard-gvr785oc1gd CASE: Cooler Master Elite 430* $49 http://au.pcpartpick...-case-rc430kwn1 PSU: Silverstone Strider 500W $59 http://au.pcpartpick...-supply-st50fes CASE FAN: Cooler Master Megaflow $19 http://au.pcpartpick...fan-r4lus07abgp TOTAL: $831 * -I may be able to find these for free (see below) My questions: - If I get my old computers hard drive, can I put it with this and it will still work? Will it matter what brand/model/how old it is? - Will everything fit in the case? - Do all the SATA cables etc come with the parts? - How much would it cost to get someone to assemble it for me? (I am confident I know what I'm doing, but I don't want to fuck up $800 worth of computer parts because of some silly mistake.) Thanks PS: I was trying to figure out a way to turn my old internal hard drive into a external hard drive. Do I only need a SATA - USB cable to that work?

    What populates a DayZ server?

Lots of people, so I can practice my shooting skills.

    Building a new computer, questions

OK thanks, also is thermal glue a necessity? I'm not going to be pissed off if I have to spend $7.14 on a tube of glue but, hey thats save time and $7.14!
  15. I'm pretty sure asking for subs is against the forum rules, am I right, someone?
  16. Try a different server or pick one with lowest ping. The error message happens to everyone.

    PC upgrade, need some advice

The graphics card is very good, get the i5 3570k and a ASRock Extreme4 mobo. You should get pretty decent FPS everywhere.

    Dayz Noob

    - Play some ArmA II to get used to the feel of it, how weapons work, movement etc - Get a hatchet. This is a must-have for any new player. - Find someone who can play with you (giggity) and show you around, give you some stuff if you need it. Just keep at it, everyone dies within 10 minutes of their first playthrough by zombies. Good luck!

    Is using teamspeak 'cheating'?

No, because cheating to me is a being a useless hacker fuck, ie: spawning stuff in, being invicible etc, where as teamspeaks only advantage is letting your friend know your location, guidance etc.
  20. Who gets annoyed when people post things that are 6 pages long, explaining how the guy was exploring Cherno when he ran into a survivor. He confronted him, and told him to 'Lower your weapon.' He didn't comply, so I fired on him. I felt PYSICALLY SICK after I killed him. I felt so guilty after murdering him....' Seriously, if you get so attached to the GAME that you get sick after killing someone, I think you should probably see a doctor. Fair enough different people have different responses to different things but this is a GAME. Also am I the only one who is annoyed that they are thinking aboot adding shitting to the SA? I have stated before, there is a fine line between realism and annoyance, and I just think this will become a needless interruption right in the middle of my game time. Is there any benefit or loss from doing so? I mean, why not add shaving, shampooing your hair, changing socks, sunburn, tripping over, having to tie your own shoelaces, a door opening mini-game, itches that have to be scratched and blinking to the SA as well? Oh sorry, would that break immersion? Anyway, thanks for reading, go do something constructive now! :P

    Morale

I literally found your thread the second I clicked off this page! Sorry about that... On a side note, thanks everyone for posting your thoughts.
  22. I've always wondered what the difference is. Your thread gets locked when it gets yarded anyway, so why not just yard all spam/unessasary threads?

    Morale

Keewwl, acknowledgment from a mod. I feel so priviledged! Thanks for your reply.
  24. Helloo people, can someone tell me if you will need to rent or pay for servers if you want to make them in the SA? Or can I just click on "Create a Server" and invite friends like that? Thanks

    New Gaming PC Time!

Is getting a CPU fan necessary? Does it increase anything, run anything smoother?
