I agree that most, if not all, of the scoped rifles should be rarer. Much rarer. Like the helicopters of firearms. Or maybe include a thing where you could find a weapon, but it has no bolt? Or maybe 55% of weapons will be in bad shape and will require servicing to get working properly. You can't run with a 12kg rifle on your back for 10km straight. You should be fatigued much, much quicker. -
If you could show us a video or something of you playing, that would be great because I really don't know what you mean.

I am pissed off that the devs said it would be out in December last year, and then in April, then 'Oh, sorry, we've had trouble climbing Everest and making statements that aren't true, the SA will be out mid-year.' What the bet it'll be out in August? Otherwise, if something is too hard or just shit, I'm sure they'll fix it. And the 'CoD crowd' as you call it, can wait for the server to load, although I doubt anyone is that stupid. But, like everyone seems to be saying, your argument is invalid, its just fucking stupid. -

I like the loot ideas, but what do you mean 'mini storage'? Like a mini warehouse with the roller doors and stuff?

(SA) Military weapons are getting rarer, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be lots of guns to choose from.

I hope military guns are rarer and not found in fire stations. Civilian guns like the CZ550 and Makarov should be found in houses. Melee weapons should be found practically everywhere. -
You need at least these specs to run DayZ at highest settings. A CPU with 3.0GHz speed. If you want better results you'll need to overclock to over 4.0GHz. RAM needs to be at least 8GB. I don't think you'll need more than 8GB. HDD isn't really imortant. I've seen builds with 15TB HDD and builds with 64GB. (You can also use an SSD, which loads programs faster and is only really used for your OS.) GPU there are so many decent GPUs to name so you'll want to go with the later models (Radeon HD 7970, Nvidia 690 etc) All this is going to cost easily $1000. Or more. I have a $1200 build I'm planning on making and isn't as good as what I've mentioned.

The DayZ mod runs perfectly fine, you may encounter some errors but just ask on the forum and someone can sort it out for you. Also check on the can you run it thread to see if your computer will run it properly.

Go to 'Video Options' in the menu and change the quality / resolution there, otherwise if it still doesn't run, ask on the 'Can I run it' thread, people there can tell you what you may need to upgrade. -
First of all, I need to say this. Macs are shit. Do not buy them. If you are planning to get one, don't bother. They are horrible. I spent a good hour typing up this post, only to swipe the mouse sideways accidently and deleted all the stuff I wrote. Thank the flying spaghetti monster for the 'View saved content' thing down the bottom. SCREW YOU, APPLE! Starting gear I think that the starting gear in the SA should be toned down alot, maybe even to the point of no backpack. There should be a % of what your starting gear is, if any. 85% - No gear at all, no backpack 10% - Junk loot (tin cans, bottles etc) 2.5%- Flashlight / Bandage / Painkillers / Heatpack 1.5%- Food / Beverages 0.5%- Weapon ammunition (More chance of handgun ammo than any other gun) 0.3%- Special Clothing (Heat-proof, jacket, bandit costume etc) 0.1%- Weapon -Makarov, M1911... (Would have a 1% chance of having ammunition) -Backpack -Map Water leads to weapon degradation When going into water with a weapon, it should get a chance to clog or jam, and if left unattended to, could ruin your weapon. rocket said there will be weapon degradation in the SA, this is just a contribution. You could find a weapon cleaning kit, which repairs your weapon to full. First aid ideas - Defibrillator: Replacement or upgrade for the epi-pen. Would be very rare and found in hospitals. May need to defibrillate your friends more than once to get them concious again. - First Aid Kit: A item which is like the medical box, albeit with lesser loot. Only 3 bandages, 3 painkillers, 2 heatpacks, 1 antibiotics and a chance to spawn either a defibrillator or splint / morphine. Would spawn in hospitals and be rare. - Broken bone healing: See here, I made a thread as it is too big to put here: http://dayzmod.com/f...leg-healing-sa/ - Life Support machine: Would be extremely rare. Found in hospitals. You could place one in a vehicle, (ambulance, truck, car) and when a friend gets shot, before he dies you could put him in the vehicle and keep him alive. Unenterable areas Power plants, the NE airfield and Olsha (Tiny town right up in the NE corner.) should be surrounded by fences, and have a mist over them. Going into these areas without protective clothing will damage your health permanantely, so even if you escape, you still suffer. You will need a gas mask and a hazmat suit to enter. The power plants could have some useful supplies, the NE airfield should have very good gear, and Olsha could have more supplies and a slightly higher vehicle spawn rate. These areas would not have super exploding zombies, maybe just ones that aggro easier. Some loot ideas: KEY: Black - Common rarity Grey - Uncommon Red - Rare Green - Very rare Pink - Extremely rare - Jacket (Provides warmth, 6 pockets to use) - Hazmat suit (Provides protection against infected areas, could also have a chance to stop infection from zombies) - Gas mask (see hazmat suit) - Sombrero (Because Mexico) - Model 1887 lever action shotgun - Wrench (could be used as a weapon, as well as to remove parts from cars etc) - Chains (Not for bondage and other peverted acts, just for connected trailers, see below) Some vehicle ideas: - Ambulance (Found in hospitals, has a 0.5% chance to spawn a life support machine, as well as medical loot) - Cement Truck (Found in industrial areas. rocket mentioned bases in the standalone, maybe this could be a component?) - Bobcat (see cement truck) - Trailers (Can be mounted to the back of cars and trucks and serve as extra inventory space) - Fire Truck (Found in Fire Stations, maybe???) - Jet crash sites (Cessna, F35 and Su-25. Would spawn small arms, mainly submachine guns. Could also spawn some military rations or clothing.) I will most likely add some more ideas when I think of them, but for now, please comment! Thanks

Yes, unenterable unless you have a gasmask and hazmat suit, otherwise you will catch dieseases.

I know but its a game. It should be easy to use and recognize without having to do other complicated stuff. Also I should add that the jets aren't pilotable, they are rare crash sites. Sorry, I'll fix that.

Tedious? Currently, all you have to do is get some morhpine and your ready to go. I disagree with replacing morphine with splints, morphine still could be used for more serious injuries.

Its most likely your CPU. Having 3.0+GHz is the best. ArmA is very CPU demanding. -

I used to play with everything low / very low with no shadows, texture detail etc but then I assume my graphics card melted because all these weird shapes were popping up on the screen and it was unplayable. My new computer will be much better though.
