I met a guy at the Balota apartment (?) he pointed a shotgun at me, but didn't shoot, then we teamed up and traversed the coast for a while, then we lost each other, then I found him. Then he died, then I logged off. Shame there isn't more friendly people like him. Its just too easy to be a bandit, I hope theres something to counter it in the SA.

Feeling lonely out there in the apocalypse? Well not any more! There would be a 50% chance of a dog spawning in a home, (obviously near the dog kennels) and a 50% chance of spawning in the wilderness. All you have to do is make sure you have a piece of meat in your inventory. You can feed the dog and it will follow you around. Dogs shouldn't 'fetch' anything, but they should be able to attack zombies, but have a risk of getting infected and turning on you. They also could bark randomly, which could set off zombies or alert other players to your position. The dog could also bark / growl if the are players nearby, and sniff along the ground in the direction of them. Dogs also need to kept healthy, so they will have the same temperature, hunger etc effects as you. Hunger: Whimpering, sniffing on the ground Cold: Shivering Pain: Shaking, whimpering, blood patches, leg lifted up Wet: Doing that thing dogs do when they're wet, I don't know what its called. You know, shaking back and forth. They could also get their own food by eating dead players, wildlife and zombies at risk of infection or drinking from oceans, rivers, ponds and the swamp that is seen in the SA, although at the risk of infection. When you die the dog will linger around your corpse, until its killed or someone else finds it. Thanks

Put them both in, and if they don't fit, move the GPU over. All motherboards have 4 PCI slots, so you'll be fine. On a seperate note, if you want to save $30, get an Extreme4 mobo. They are pretty much the same, but the extreme4 is a bit cheaper.

I'm sitting in maths right now. I think I'll be fine with the SA. I never really used many of the exploits anyway, apart from the bush-hiding.

No, it won't. Whats the point in spending ~$1000 on a laptop that will struggle and choke at <30 frames on low / normal, when you can spend the equivilent amount on a desktop that will run the game on high at 50FPS? OP, unless you live in a box or a car, I'm sure you can find a little bit of room for a tower, monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Desktop Desktop Desktop. That laptop costs about $900, and I'm buying a desktop thats about 597 times better and about the same price. Intergrated graphics suck for gaming, and the processor will be too slow unless you boost it.

Yes to the IEDs. Stuff some razor blades and other assorted sharp pointy things in there and wait for the boom. It should be crafted something like this: Tin can, razor blades etc (optional, just improves damage) hand grenade? and string for a trip wire.

If you're going AMD, get a 7870. If you're going Nvidia, go for a 660ti or 670. The only thing you need to make sure of is that your mobo has a PCI-E 16x slot. It will most likely have one, it just means the GPU will fit in the slot. Also make sure your PSU has enough power to run the new card. Most of todays high-end GPUs need at least 500w.

Only 50 FPS? Damn, that must be hard man... Seriously though, I kinda knew this was gonna be one of 'those' threads. Theres alot of people running on low with <30 FPS, consider yourself lucky.
