Heres my other hardware: Intel Core i5 3570k ASRock Z77M Nvidia 650 1GB 8GB RAM 1TB HDD Windows 7 64bit 750w PSU Also, I'm looking to upgrade the GPU, what would be better, a 7850 or a 7870? I was thinking the 7870, but after hearing the 7850 can give you ~40+ FPS for a lower price, I was considering it.

And no, I'm not a whinging little 9 year old who gives up on DayZ when he can't find any vehicles, I mean more vehicles and less petrol / parts for them. It would make more sense too, as soon as the apocalypse started, people stocked up on fuel and left, their vehicles didn't. Heres a list of things off the top of my head. Dirt Bike (Found in houses and on countryside buildings) Moped SEGWAYS Cement Mixer (Found in cities, could be used to help build bases?) Trucks (Found in cities, trailers can be attached and have loads of inventory space.) Van Minibus Forklift Station wagon Trams Excavator Bobcat (You could use these digging vehicles to make traps...?) Dump truck Water vehicles: Fishing boat Tug boat Yacht Kayak / Conoe Air Boat - I think thats what they're called, the ones with the big fan on the back. Louisana rednecks have them. Air Vehicles: Cessna Some houses could have garages left open with damaged cars inside or fuel tanks that can be scavenged, others could be locked and need to accessed a different way. You could also use different parts for different vehicles too, like a bicycle tyre on a motorbike, however it will break very quickly so it would only be useful if you desperately needed to go somewhere. And if you want to be really annoying, you could add 2 types of fuel. Diesel and Unleaded. A ute might need diesel and won't work with unleaded fuel.

I like what Terminal Boy said. Depending on the round and range, you should still be able to cripple / kill zombies, with a large caliber bullet and a strong weapon.

I like the idea of leaving a big mess if you give yourself a blood tranfusion, and also the crossbow damage increase.

Should having a wrench or something like that be necessary for removing tires and stuff like that? Also there should be some kind of car repair shop, it would have some tires and other vehicle items like that. There needs to be more variety of buildings in the cities, not just apartments and random buildings.

Building a computer is pretty much like putting lego together. Just don't bend or press on anything that sticks out, really. Anywho, if you're budget is between $500 - $600, you could take out the HDD, re-use the case, but thats pretty much it. Stick to AMD CPUs if you're on a budget and a 7850 too, I think they're under $200(?). RAM is pretty cheap too. You'll be fine.

Selling your computer might get you $20. You could build a pretty good computer for ~$1000.

Yeaahh, a couple of bucks won't get you very far. Good processors are around ~$200 - $300, and good graphics cards are around ~$200 - $400. You would need at least 3.0GHz of CPU speed to run ArmA relatively smooth and GPUs should be somewhere around 7850+ for Radeon or 660+ for Nvidia cards.

I liked what they did with The Last Stand Union City where you got a form to fill out at the beginning of the game asking what you did before the apocalypse... But I don't like the idea of started with something because you chose that profession, everyone will just choose to spawn as an army private.

A standalone is DayZ by itself, its not a mod so you won't need ArmA II CO to play it. ArmA II is a great game by itsef, I wouldn't think you've wasted money.

I agree with it as long as it isn't set out like a shitty spy movie. They would have to be in appropriate places and should only go where ventilation ducts need to, they shouldn't be set out with people walking through them in mind.

How about we stick with the casual multiplayer game and scavenge for supplies and kill each other rather than following a quest? Also what happens when you 'beat DayZ'? Does the server shut down? The infection stopped, so whats the point in continuing? Not a good idea.

The only DLC I would like to see would be things like new maps, more locations etc. not a storyline like Fallout where you purify the place and stop the infection.

Good computers that are cheap-ish are out there, you just need to look hard for them... Anyway, if you're max budget is at $1500, then you'll be set. Ask someone or PM me and I'll give you a list of good parts that will run ArmA / DayZ very well.
