This is a terrible idea. "Have it set in middle America...more variety of weapons and vehicles." First of all, there is already too many games set in America. Over used country. Second of all, do I smell I hint of 'I want the AS50 and M107 back!'? Leave DayZ where it is.

The walkways in some buildings are death traps. Especially if you're getting chased by zombies, and you think you can lose them, you head up there looking for a hatchet or something, but no. If you go up on them things, whilst getting chased by zombies, you're fucked. You can't go back the way you came because zombies block you. You just run into them getting gang raped and knocked down. Its only by some miracle that you might glitch past them,but even thewn you've already lost too much blood and you may aswell kill yourself. So here is my suggestion: Shoving, or knocking the zombies down. Take the example above, if you are close enough to a zombie, you can press a key and you'll shove it: either into the ground or just to the side. This will give you some time to get past them, instead of being raped by them. This will also save alot of time and deaths, especially for new players. And my last suggestion: Faster animations. I know the SA already has some faster and more accessible ways to do things, (eg. looting) but things like getting in and out of vehicles, climbing ladders etc takes too long. To climb ladders you need to stand in the most precise location, find the option to climb it, select 'climb ladder', holster your weapon and THEN climb. Meanwhile you are most likely mauled to death by zombies. Sometimes there are too many options on the action menu thing. For example: getting out of a car in a hurry. You have 4 options all in the way: Engine off, Get out, eject, and gear, and if you're like me, you'll be in a hurry to get out of whatever situation it is. 90% of the time I miss and end up selecting something I didn't want to, thus giving the zombies more time to eat me while I try again. There should be a key you can press (F maybe?) that quickly performs the action, but only when facing a door / gate / ladder / vehicle. For instance you run over to a ladder, hit F and you start climbing, instead of having to cycle through options. And just so you know, I'm not ranting, I'm just saying there needs to be a quicker way to do certain things. Thanks for reading, tell me what you think:

Improve zombie spawn system and Stashes

I agree, a limited number of Z'ds would be cool. Although rocket did say that with the new base system thing, you can kill all the zombies in a town and fortify that place, and zombies won't spawn there anymore. -
Well, after a few months of having no computer, I finally got a computer powerful enough to run DayZ on highest settings. And then after internet issues and Telstra beings 8===Ds, I managed to download DayZ commander and (hopefully) get started. No, wrong. So after installing the new update and screwing around with other stuff, I finally get a server. No, wrong again. I keeep getting kicked, or just cannot join the game. So after sorting out Battleshits constant nagging and bitching, I get into a game. Kamenka, GREEAAT. Anywho, I decide to make my way up to the Balot airfield, so after aggro'ing what seemed to be the entire zombie population of Kamenka, I get down to the airfield. Still being chased by a couple of zombies, I find a empty M24. I keep it anyways but get raped by zombies after running for it. Attempt 2: Kamenka. Again. This time I took a different approach. I head up the road looting all the deer stands, and getting a CZ550 on the first one. I go on my merry way, avoiding zombies and coming to a town which I have no idea the name of. I see a church and head down there, hoping for some decent loot. No, its one of THOSE churches. Un-openable doors. I distract most of the zombies (Thank shit for road flares!) and escape to a nearby forest. I stuck to the forests for a while until Zeleno came into view. I scan through it with my empty CZ and then- BAM! Kicked for having a ping of 7985. Am I pissed? Yes. Am I going to make a thread about how much I hate Battleye and how DayZ is too hard and sucks now. No. Whining about Battleye won't fix it. Oh well, at least I can start over, get a little further. This was my first 1.7 game, and honestly, I don't know what everyones so angry about. I found heaps of loot, I got knocked down I think, once, and didn't get infected. Keep in mind, I haven't played in at least 3 or 4 months. Well, I just thought I'd put this out there, and errr, goodnight!

Maybe, on some servers, I get into alot of really funny coversations on global chat. No, there is a moon, the sun relfects it, creating light. At night it is unplayable. Fix the flashlights seizure inducing shaking and I'll gain a bit more respect for this suggestion. So how am I to know if me and my friend have joined the correct server? Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. Agreed; this should definately encourage people to use 1st person more, and use iron sights. They are going to try to stop server-hopping in the SA, but otherwise agreed. The E3 footage has a surrender animation, but I like the hands behind head idea: point a gun at someones head and move them along with their hands behind their head... No zombiefication. Otherwise, yes. -
I don't know what it is. I am reinstalling ArmA II OA right now, but every time I try to join a server, it says 'No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/M119.turnCoef'. Then puts me back at the main menu. Every single server. Both PlaywithSIX and DayZ Commander do this. Also when searching for servers, none come up. It is blank, I can search for servers, but most, if not all have 10000 ping. Please help!

OK, now that I've reinstalled ArmA II, I can make it to 'joining game' before I am disconnected because 'Battleshit failed to initialize'. Help? -

Dont go near doors or gates, they are as dangerous as a bandit with a M107, before the update...you know what I mean. Cities are a very dangerous place, if you need to go in, know where to go, go in, and get out fast. Dont waste your ammo on zombies, use a hatchet or your sidearm to take them down. Other than that I would strongly reccomend playing a bit of ArmA II to get used to the controls, weapon physics, movement etc... Good luck!

Yes, that will not run DayZ. Definately go for a i5 or i7. But if you want to go really cheap, go for an AMD CPU. Here is a pretty cheap build, all from PCPartpicker. Assuming you're American, this was $393.51, and should play DayZ on medium - high settings at 30+ FPS. AMD FX-4100 @ 3.6GHz 4 cores - $97.99 ASRock 970 Extreme3 - $84.99 Asus Radeon HD 7770 1GB GHz - $121.98 Raidmax ATX238WU ATX Mid tower case - $34.99 Antec High Current Gamer 400w -$73.56 I left out the RAM and HDD because you can take them from your old computer, and put them in. If you want to save $34.99, you can reuse your old case too, and really lower your cost.

Hey R4Z0R, I (and I'm sure many other people) are faced with a dilemma. Very limited internet. Downloading heaps of patches and updates can be a problem, and with the SA just around the corner, I wanted to know, how internet hungry will the SA be? And if you can, a rough estimate on how big the Steam download will be. Thanks

Maybe 20 - 30 on low -normal, still can't make up your mind? You've posted about 50 builds already... The CPU and GPU are pretty weak, maybe 10 - 20 everything disabled / low.

What kind of items / weapons do you want to see in the SA?

For me I would like to see more junk stuff; just random rubbish as well as some new weapons, melee and ranged. Junk items - Broken glass - Pieces of metal - Broken electronics - Pieces of paper - Newspapers - Could be saying things like 'Unknown infection quickly spreading - Chernarussians urged to stay inside' Just anything, really. To add a bit more immersion; not everything you would find in the apocalypse would be useful. Weapons More Russian weapons - civilian or not, its better than finding an M240 and a M4A1 in a apocalyptic Russian country. - SVT-40 - MP-443 Grach - Tokarev - MTs-255 - PPsH (<3) - PP-2000 - DP-28 - Galil - M1 Garand - M1 Carbine - VSK - 94 - Broken glass bottle (Use for empty whiskey bottles?) - Spears - Chainsaw - Hedge trimmer - Shovel - Pitchfork - Hoe - Kitchen knife Medical items - Homemade bandage - Could be created by using a shirt, it fails easily, works for a shorter time than a normal bandage, and if your clothing is infected with Cholera(?), it has a chance to infect you. - Maybe you could use whiskey or vodka as a temprary painkiller - You could use knifes to remove bullets or shrapnel, at the risk of bleeding. - Scalpel - Better way to remove bullets / shrapnel, much lower risk of bleeding. - Dismemberment, too. Not from handguns and smaller caliber guns, from bladed weapons, and high powered weapons: KSVK, sniper rifles, some LMGs etc. Losing an arm or leg would knock you down and you would bleed profusely, at like 350 blood loss per second. Losing a head would kill you instantly. You could use this to your advantage too, getting chased by a zombie? Just cut off his legs! Problem solved! Also I would say to replace the M16 with a slightly more common AR-15. It is more available to civilians, aside form the M16, which is mainly military. I think it'd be cool to have shrapnel wounds in DayZ aswell, a grenade that goes off near you could give you wounds that bleed over time, requiring a knife or scalpel to remove the pieces. Well, what do you think should be put into the SA, focusing mainly on items and weapons? -
No....I get along just fine with a bandage and painkillers, I'm sure theres people who get along with no starting gear at all. New players finding it too hard? Harden the fuck up then.

Haven't played DayZ in AGES. Installing the new patch right now. I'll give you my opinion in a few months. Maybe years, idk depends how long I play for. -

1- One minute its zombies aren't even a threat anymore, they aren't a problem! Next minute its aww zombies are too hard, they knock you down all the time! Dont go near the zombies if you dont want to get knocked down! 2- Its still in alpha, there is loads of bugs and glitches that screw things up for everyone, you'll have to wait for the SA when the bugs and glitches are worked on. 3- I agree, people should have some variety. But there will be a MASSIVE variety of clothing in the SA, so you can say 'I'm the guy with the black and white striped shirt and jeans!' 4- Yes, but DayZ is a mod for a military simulator. I don't think BiS had zombie evasion and things like that in mind while they were making ArmA II. 5- That depends on how far away you are from the target? If you are 3ft away from a zombie you can aim right at its head and pop it. If you are 900ft away from one you will have to aim up and zero out further. 6- Finding rubbish is a good thing. The game would be boring if all you found were useful items. I'm sure everything in your house wouldn't be very useful in a zombie apocalypse. 7- Have you seen the SA footage? The inventory has been redisgned entirely. Remember DayZ is a mod for ArmA II, ArmA II is, like I said above, a military sim. They didn't think you would have to use it so much, unless I am getting ammunition or a weapon, I never open the inventory in ArmA II. 8- Again, ArmA II is a military mod. They didn't have drive bys in mind while developing it. And having maps like NYC and other cities would lag your face-hole inside out. Some people barely make it in cities with less than 20 FPS, imagine a massive map that is only a city. Anyways, most of the things you pointed out will be sorted in the SA. Have fun until then. -

It wouldn't run at all, considering there is no GPU in that list, otherwise it should run fine with a decent middle to high class GPU with it, also if there is an option to get a quad core CPU, go for it. 30+ on high. lol, I don't think anyones that lucky. Maybe ~30+ on medium settings,but it also depends on your internet connection / speed aswell. But the canirunit site cannot give out reccomendations on what to replace or upgrade, or how much FPS you can get on what settings.

1- Suggested before, I personally don't like the idea of it, unless it was very rare and avoidable. 2- As joe said above, different in terms of age / stages of infection. Newly infected zombies would be faster and stronger, where as older zombies will be slow and brain dead. 3- I hope you can get rid of them, otherwise you could end up with people doing CoD rape trains. 4- Yes, that would be awesome, I do hope they incorporate dismemberment. 5- No, way too game-y.

Do you even realise that you are writing in black? It really annoys me when people put their specs in with font sizes at 56 and yellow letters with a pink background, I have to highlight it to read it. Whew, OK, I'm not 100% on APUs, someone else will have to tell you, otherwise, the CPU would run it, but a quad core would be better. The CPU and GPU could do with an upgrade, they are both mid-rangey.
