I thought hearing noises and stuff had already been suggested and declined 0v3R N1n3 Th0SanD times before? I'm gonna vote no, like mZLY said, it would feel very gamey and trying-to-be-scary, if you know what I mean. It would make me feel like I'm playing System Shock 2, with all the ghostly apparitions and stuff.

You need ArmA II and Operation Arrowhead to play DayZ. To run the game smoothly I would reccomend at least this type of set up: A CPU with at least 3.0GHz of speed (Intel) or 3.2 - 3.4GHz (AMD) 4 - 8GB of RAM. At least a 7750 (AMD) or 650 (Nvidia) GPU. Enough HDD to install the game. If you don't know much about your system ask on the 'Can I run it?' thread in the New Player Discussion, and we'll sort you out. If you have all this sorted out, download DayZCommander and you're ready to go.

On medium settings, 40 - 50+. I would definately go for high / very high settings though.

The CPU and GPU are really behind. You'll need at least 3.0GHz of CPU speed to run ArmA II OK.

Just some ideas I thought of, please comment. Vehicle towing: If you have a chain and a toolbox in your inventory, there would be an option saying 'tow vehicle'. You would have to back the vehicle you want to tow behind the other vehicle and then select it. Doing so would remove the chain from your inventory. When towing a vehicle, the main car cannot perform sharp turns or the chain will break and detach the car. The main car will also be very slow if it is pulling a bus or truck. Obviously, if you are in a truck or bus towing a car, you will go faster than the other way around. More signs of a zombie apocalypse: Things like car-barricades, blood trails, TVs broadcasting a looping video of people running to camps with a headline 'Please head to the nearest city immediately' or 'Infectious outbreak, stay inside!'. Better zombies: Yeah, I know, its been asked for a thousand times, but I want to put my ideas across: - Zombies should do more damage, but not like insta-bone breakage and superman KO punches; I mean like more blood loss when they damage you. - They should be slower, and not be so determined. I get it, they want your flesh but they shouldn't chase you across the map. It gets frustrating. - Different type of zombies, not like exploding ones or 4 legged ones that vomit on you, but ones that might have a higher chance of giving you a disease, or dealing more damage. Even ones that have physical handicaps, like missing legs, meaning they can only crawl, or missing arms, meaning they can't deal as much damage, but can still bite your head off. Different types of crash sites: I made a thread about this, that didn't get alot of attention. My idea is that there would be 3 categories of aircraft: Civilian, military and cargo. There would also be crashed jets like C-130s and F35s. Crashed jets would be rarer, and drop rarer loot. There would be a maximum of 4-5 wrecks on the server until restart. Civilian planes are just transport and would drop clothing and food/beverages. Military would drop rare weapons and backpacks. Cargo would drop food and beverages as well as a small chance of backpacks. The ability to remove weapons from vehicle: Doing this would require a toolbox to remove weapons, and to install them would require a toolbox and some scrap metal. There should be more to hospitals: Not just one floor that is accsesible by shooting out the windows. There should be staircases leading to operating rooms that have been taped off, patients in hospital beds surrounded by blood. (see No. 2) Thanks.

Dude, is this your, 3rd post in a day? Go and search for a week until you know what you want entirely. Ask on here if you need help. Anyway, yes, that would run it at 30+ FPS on medium - high settings. You're being a little vague, I don't quite know what you mean. Your case came with 3 fans, but your motherboard has 2? The motherboard should only have 1, and thats for the processor. I don't know why you'd need that many anyway, unless you were planning to overclock to 4.8GHz, then you may aswell use liquid cooling.

I like you, but seriously, you need to know when to admit defeat. And wake up to the fact that, if you don't want people labeling you as a brony, don't put misleading sig's / profile pictures! heh heh >.>

-
Maybe, put it in your sig or something?? Or maybe they could just make a thread themselves and get more than just one opinion. I'm not being sarcastic, I'm just saying.
-
That should run fine, 30+ on high.

Where would you like a DayZ: SA map to be set?
dulix11 replied to King of kong's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Anywhere but America. Way too many post-apocalyptic games set there. Anywho, I'd like a map in the areas up around Russia, Ukraine etc. -
No sorry, the CPU is way too slow for DayZ, I would recommend at least 3.0GHz of speed (Intel) or 3.2 - 3.4GHz (AMD)
-
I wouldn't bother on medium, go for very high, easy. IMO, faster CPU speed, more HDD space, but the first one easily smash DayZ aswell. The last or second last ones will get 30+ on medium to high settings. On DayZ you might get 30 - 40 on high / very high. ArmA 3 is insanely unoptimized so its hard to say. One day I was getting a solid 60FPS on high settings, even when recording. The next day I was getting a rough 20FPS on standard quality.

ArmA 2 doesn't like crossfire GPUs that much, and the CPU is a bit behind. Not by much though. If you upgrade the CPU to something a little stronger, you might get 40+ on high if ArmA 2 is happy with the GPUs. Both are very good computers however the second one is slightly stronger. Both motherboards are great, I've heard good things with Z87s and Z77s. I think the Xeon's are only made really for servers.(?) As for your quality and graphical questions, turn your Post-Processing effects and Anti-Aliasing off, they make no real noticeable change to the goame, unless they're on high which lags your computer out. Also try putting quality and texture settings on high, I've heard it puts more load on your CPU rather than your GPU, so it runs smoother. (It could be vise-versa, im not sure) The CPU is way too slow. Your laptop will more than likely overheat and along with <15 FPS, it will be near unplayable.

Arma II freezing when Internet is on

What's your ping on the server you play on? -
EAAAARRRGGGHHHHHHhhhh... not this again.

This would easy be able to play DayZ above 40, mine is virtually the same aside from the CPU, mine is a 3570k. Don't bother with the video card overclock, extra fans etc etc etc, unless its (the fans) for the CPU. Use that money to get a better video card, the 650 is OK, but there are much better ones out there.

Can everyone do me a favour when the SA comes out?
dulix11 posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Don't make videos and tutorials about it. I don't mind when people upload gameplay and how to fix errors and things like that, but when people start uploading 'How to find 100 weapons in your first hour of DayZ!!!' then it becomes boring. I think alot of the current problems with DayZ is people know too much. No-one bothers to try and learn for themselves, its just 'ohh, i keep dying, never mind ill just go on utube and look how to be l33t banditz' Before all this attention, it was a bandage and a flashlight, 0 experience, 0 knowledge of what to do, 0 idea of what or how to use a bandage. (believe me, I dropped about 30 bandages thinking I was healed before I asked my friend and was mocked for my stupidity :/) If there was no tutorials or any of this 'How to survive your first day in DayZ!' people would actually have to think and learn by themselves, I think that would make the game 1000x better and more interesting. Tank yew ;) EDIT: if all of that came out incorrectly, apologies: What I am trying to say is If you want to have proper, DayZ fun in the SA, please don't make videos about the best loot spots in the game. or the best weapon locations in the game. If however, you want to use the tutorials and guides, by all means go right ahead. I am (trying) to state that the SA will definitely be more fun if you learn by yourself, and leave the guides alone. -
The only map in the world "DayZ Minecraft" Scale 1:1

Damn, I'll have to wash these sheets. beans for you, friend. this is unreal. -
Probably not. Unless you are a fan of having <20 FPS on low everything and the possibility of overheating and shutdowns from them. And I would guess maybe ~<30 FPS for the other games on low.

Can everyone do me a favour when the SA comes out?
dulix11 replied to dulix11's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It was just a opinion, obviously thats illegal on the internet.... ******* I honestly think that if you want to spend your time watching youtube videos on where to find all the best gear quickly, then its game over. Its boring, because half of the game is struggling with almost no supplies, sneaking past infected with hardly any food in your virtual stomach, just hoping that you will get to the supermarket, and then savouring that can of beans you find. Once you know that when you spawn, you immediately run to x, then go to x, then there you have it. Fully geared up. Not very fun. But if you play without guides and walkthrough's, the game becomes a whole lot harder. You don't know where to go. You won't know what to do. You'll take a random guess and just hope that that house has some supplies in it. This way you could spend a whole day scrounging around the place. -
~30 in normal towns on medium to high settings, in the countryside etc you will more than likely be getting 40 - 50 with high settings. The CPU is bottlenecking and bringing your whole system down. An Intel CPU with at least 3.0GHz or an AMD CPU with at least 3.2 - 3.4GHz would be ideal. With a better CPU you would get 40 - 50 on high. ps. im really disliking the quote thing now, if i try to copy and paste the quote into another text box, it doesn't work >:(
