How long did it take you to accumulate enough fences to fence-in Cherno?
-
Should run fine, 30+ on normal - high. Aye, like Rekli said, you can't upgrade a notebook.
-
That CPU is wayyyy too slow. I'd recommend at least 3.0GHz quad core to play this game (along with a decent GPU) smoothly. In the unlikely event you DO manage to run DayZ, it will be at <15 FPS.

[Suggestion] When shot, only that specific spot of your armor/clothing is damaged. Stuff in pockets only damaged if pocket is shot.

Still, its too much to do with hundreds of items. -
What DayZ really is - A jogging simulator
dulix11 replied to TheWizard14's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
YOU'RE PLAYING IT WRONG. Seriously though, yeah, alot of it is travelling on foot, but half the fun IS getting where you want to. It feels so, realistic, I guess, playing this game. It IS an apocalypse. You aren't going to get a little car to dwive awound in. You are going to run through hell and back, fighting off bullets, savage zombies, clinging to that can of beans in your backpack, a hatchet is the only weapon you have to defend yourself... You seriously don't perceive it that way? The excitement of playing IN the apocalypse. -

It would be too hard to implement. Imagine the hundreds upon hundreds of clothing items. Now imagine making an individual part for each of those hundreds of items. A simple t-shirt. - Front - Back - Left sleeve - Right sleeve - Lower back half - Upper back half - Upper front half -Lower front half Ugh. No thanks. -
DayZ 1.7.8 "Choose Spawn", Thoughts?
dulix11 replied to -Se7eN-'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That's my exact thought when I saw this. I'll be spawning in the most remote east-side places possible. Hopefully, up near Krasnitov(?). I can never get those names right. -
I dont have much knowledge in this area, but... https://www.hfbservers.com/billing/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=58 Someone with more knowledge than me can tell you if this works.

Yup, it's very very slow. Send me a PM and we can sort something out.
-
lolno, everything is reeally slow. Thats the problem.

ballistic vest conditions, repairs and downfalls
dulix11 replied to callsignBravo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Its a good idea, but doing this would mean that they'd have to go through the hundreds of clothing items, change the properties of them so that instead of it being one whole part, it is dividied into lots of little different parts. Too hard to implement. -
Item damage in Dayz SA looks dumb...
dulix11 replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If we had the standalone all ready we would have a bug ridden mess. That is why we haven't got it yet. Watch the latest dev blog you can see that there is still loads to do. Give it time, because even it if it takes another 6 months, all this 'shinny' options are going to make the game freakin' aweshum. -
You have a lot of time on your hands, Gews.

Darn, that sucks. My worst experience would've been when I was playing with two of my friends. I ran from Kamenka to the NWAF where I was mobbed by a zombie. With my legs broken, thats when either A, my friend, or B, a random friendly, started emptying into the huge cluster of zombies, killed them all, and let me escape. I crawled onto the runway and I spent the rest of my time throwing flares up into the sky to try and get the attention of my buddies. We didn't find each other, but then a UAZ came driving toward me. I managed to evade the driver who got out and looked around, so I climbed in and stole it. Eventually he killed me and I later learned he was a hacker :/

Simply, there could be a set amount of stages of decomposition for any corpse, human, zombie or animal. Example: You kill something. Whether that be a animal, zombie or human. You take whatever you want from it and then leave. - After 15 minutes in-game the corpse becomes pale-er. - After 30 minutes in-game trying to move the body become difficult. - After 1 hour in-game the body starts the 'fly noises' (I think the flies start wayyyy too quickly. In real life, flies wouldn't be swarming over a corpse the second you kill it) - After 5 hours in-game the body starts showing physical signs of decomposing, eg. face has started peeling, flesh is exposed etc. - After 24 hours in-game the body has even more obvious signs of decomposition eg. face has fallen apart, limbs may be missing or shredded. - After 48 hours in-game the body is reduced to a slop, the flies are buzzing louder and the decompisition is VERY obvious eg. limbs fallen apart, bone and skeleton exposed etc. Effects on gear and items: - After 15 minutes in-game gear is still functional and working. - After 30 minutes in-game gear is still in working order. - After 1 hour in-game gear is starting to degrade. - After 5 hours in-game any consumable or wear-able items on the body are very lightly infected, and any other items are degraded to 50% - After 24 hours in-game any consumable or wear-able items on the body are slightly infected and could give you an infection. Any other items are degraded to 75% - After 48 hours in-game: (For human corpses) Any clothing is now 'diseased' and can give you an infection if you wear it. Any foods on the body are now 'diseased' and can give you an infection if you consume them. Any other items are 90% degraded. (For animal corpses) Any meat that you attempt to take from the corpse is poisoned and can give you an infection. (For zombies) Any items on the body are diseased and can give you an infection. This idea could help when you are trying to determine how long ago something was killed. EDIT: Bludy added that if you take clothing from a decomposed body, but manage to treat the infection or avoid it, you would be slightly more 'invisible' to zombies. eg. the risk of a zombie aggro'ing while you are wearing an infected piece of clothing would be reduced by 15%. **also, i know that the numbers in this post are more than likely unrealistic, but having a body degrade weeks after it was killed in-game would take too long**

A A List Of Buildings That Would Be Fun To See In Chernarus
dulix11 replied to carbine781 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
1- A swimming pool. Don't ask me why, it'd just be cool. It has to have a waterslide too. 2- A heap of other random shops too. Pubs, chemists, $2 stores, furniture stores, music stores, hardware stores...I could go on. -
DayZ Developer Blog 7th September 2013
dulix11 replied to SmashT's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
You've been beaten Smash! I thought that rocket would start off with a Microsoft Sam voice judging from the mask the character is wearing, lol. -
You would need to get a new AMD processor, so you wouldn't have to buy a new motherboard, so something like a FX 6300 would fit that build. With that you would probably get 30 - 40 on high.
-
It would take too long. Unless you are willing to play for a few months straight taking painkillers and anti-biotics to numb the pain and stop any infections.

Item damage in Dayz SA looks dumb...
dulix11 replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think he was just waiting for someone to come onto the forums complaining about how damage isn't realistic enough, or how it doesn't work like they want it to, even though the chances are they've never attempted to make a game or even know that the freakin' thing is STILL IN ALPHA. -
Item damage in Dayz SA looks dumb...
dulix11 replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Correction: Damage in the DayZ SA ALPHA looks dumb. They are just showing what its like. It is still in alpha, quit complaining. -
Yayyyy!! Woah, you beat the mods to this one!

What are you getting at here?

Consolidated Weapons/Equipment suggestions
dulix11 replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Aye, like mZLY said, you have spent no money, or at least, I hope not, on this mod. It is being entirely rebuilt and they can't post a dev blog each week you realise how boring and short they would be? 'Today we coded some stuff and made a new building. That is all.' Instead, how about we leave for a month, so they come out and say: 'Well, we created 2 new zombie skins, added some more weapons, fixed some AI bugs, improved the melee system and created an entirely new town, here are some screenshots' -
