OH NOE It looks like we are playing a zombie apocalypse simulator..... .....with zombies!!!! Zombies need to be avoided, before hand everyone is complaining about how KoS and bandits ruin the game and how zombies need to be harder. Now that they are, everyone is back too bitching and crying about them! The devs just can't win!

I've been a bit behind thanks to my poo internet so I finally managed to play some DayZ today. I clicked the connect button and am greeted with the new select spawn menu. I sat there for 4 whole minutes waiting because I thought it was one of the servers snazzy loading screens. Until I realised you could highlight which location to spawn in, I just sat there. So I spawned in Elektro, ran around a little and looted some food (I forgot the UI changed so I was a little unfocused with moving things around my inventory.), then I was chased down and hugged to death by a group of zombies. Attempt 2, I spawn in some random place, I forget where exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was along the east coast. I ran to the nearest settlement and looted an AKM, but then was again chased down and hugged to death by some zombies. My third attempt got me the furtherest. I spawned in Elektro again, and went looting. I headed to the fire station where I found 2 Remingtons, a MP5SD, and a PDW. I took both the PDW and the shotgun. (MP5 had no ammo). I ran into the Church and found nothing of use, so I headed into the school, and again, found nothing of use, aside from a map. I ran over to the supermarket and found a backpack, and then some 'Mountain Green'. I sat there and looked at it for 3 minutes straight, waiting for it to strike. I didn't pick that sucker up, I had come too far to die again. I headed out and to the fire station on the outskirts. Two bodies in there, 1 with an AKS-74 (which I took) and a couple of empty M4A1s. Thats when I left and headed up the mountain. And then.....'YOU HAVE BEEN KICKED BY BATTLEYE, CLIENT NOT RESPONDING.' Well, screw you too, Battleye. Anyways, I had no problem with anything that's been changed. I didn't really notice anything different with the zombies spawns, I got mobbed twice but I didn't really care. People always find something miniscule to whinge about, but, eh. Its just a game.

ArmA II and OA is a great game already, so much content and hours and hours of stuff to do.

I always do. Its just a game, just because you die doesn't mean the game is a piece of crap. If I die, I get angry, and move along. I don't make threads about every time I die. -
Should run perfectly fine, 30 - 40+ on high.

You realise how useless this would be? Oh look a person! Better write a message, stick it to this little winged creature's foot and throw it at him! Where are we getting this pidgeons from anyway? We just keep a backpack full of pidgeons with us in case we want to rob someone?

If anything I'd upgrade the 7850 to the stronger 7870. You could run it with that build, but with less than 20 FPS. The GPU is a major bottleneck, something like a 660 would fix that up and get you 30+ on normal settings. 40 - 50+ in everday places, ~30 in cities and forests. (The cities and forests with AA and PPE either disabled or on low.)

30+ on high with AA and PPE disabled. GPU is bottlenecking, fix that up and you could get 30+ on normal. Not a chance, not with a 1.8GHz CPU. Too slow. Sorry!

You realise that that goes on my list of silliest things posted? Being shot the second someone sees you isn't 'fun' or very good. Its annoying. KoS isn't a good thing for DayZ, if you want to do nothing but shoot people, go play regular ArmA. -
Quick question: What exactly where you banned for? And also, you should know the answer to that question if you have already played the game. CO is ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead. OA is just OA.

in contribution to the thread... - I would like to be able to, once in vicinity of it, be able to pull water pipes off the wall, and use them as weapons. They could be found anywhere. - Chainsaws. Would be found as a moderate to rare spawn in sheds at the back of some houses. - 2x4. Would be very common, and could be craftable from wood piles? - Cordless drills. Same as chainsaws. - Sythe, sickle. Found in barns and farmhouses. - Pocket knife. Found in houses. - Switchblade - Maybe if you are in a forest, there could be a chance to be able to pick up a branch to use as a weapon. It would break within 20 - 30 hits. - Handsaws. Very unconventional, but could be used to inflict a nasty, jagged cut on a player. - Maybe, even if a weapon breaks it could be used as a very crude melee weapon. - Garden hoe - Rake - Saucepans - Golf clubs - Hammer / sledge hammer - Pool cues, could be found in pubs / bars? i just realised how brutal some of these ideas are...oh well, tis' the zombie apocalypse. -
You definetly won't be getting 30 - 40 in towns. You could expect 30 - 40 on normal - high settings. The SSD won't matter entirely, it is just a storage device. I'm not sure how well ArmA likes the 6 core design of the 6300, but I would imagine you could get 30 - 40 on normal settings.

They are working on trying to prevent the KoS mentality in the standalone, what with the item degradation when you are shot. Hopefully people who KoS will think twice before shooting you dead. However, I have a question. Whats stopping people robbing you without firing a single shot, and then shooting you dead once you are robbed? -

ffs I'll just put this here, I hate it when people rip into ArmA III. Its like 4 days old and people are saying 'this game is shit, no campaign, shitty physics, recycled vehicle models blah blah blah,' do you realise they have been working on a 270km2 map? Do you realise they have been fixing bugs and other errors that would've made the game unplayable upon release? pah. I like ArmA 3, is very fun. I get 30 - 40 on 'standard' settings and I have no problem mucking around in the editor and creating my own missions. You may think the 2 main issues are zombies and performance. Others might identify them as hackers and glitchers. I, like many other people won't really care if the SA is still 'meh' I'm still gonna buy it and play the shit out of it. Like every other game, in the first week of release there is HEAPS of bugs and glitches that are yet to be asessed and fixed up :) -
