I think keys could be a toolbelt item. So the player can disconnect with the keys to "his" car, he could drop them, he could loose them, he could give them away or hide them for his friends. The keys would always somehow be connected to the car. If they are lost / not present on the server, the car can only be hot-wired.

I think car keys could be a good way to add the ability to lock vehicle doors. There is a thread for that already: dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/67590-car-keys-hot-wiring/

I like your suggestions because they also add a little realism to the game. I find it hard to believe that every vehicle in DayZ is parked with the keys in the keyhole and the doors unlocked - permanent. And when I have a vehicle in my posession (in DayZ) I would not let it stay unlocked parked somewhere in the forest if I had the option to lock it. When I just exited to loot or refill the tank I would not lock it but otherwise I would. I think a toolbox should be enough to hot-wire a vehicle. For breaking in / unlocking the vehicle you would only have to damage the window on the drivers side which makes a little noise. There could also be a silent way to break in (like with a short piece of wire) but I think that won't be necessary. And hot-wiring should take an amount of time (like 15 seconds) and make a recognisable sound (like failing ignitions and such)

Hey, AFAIK both weapons are NOT in DayZ so obviously they are hacked into the game. If you don't care about that you should take the AS50 Thermal. Than you can shoot people like 5 kilometers away through trees and such. That's what I read about that weapon.

Hey, I'm wondering if anybody knows anything about the server DE 2061 which is down for a couple days now? I'm curious because I have / had 2 tents and an ATV on that server. =/ Thanks for your help!

Man, I've found a MP5SD on a deer stand yesterday - the rarest weapon I've found so far. Today, I wanted to put it in my tent - the tent was full - the MP5SD is GONE I looked for it around the tent for like half an hour, rolled in the dirt like some idiot, but I couldn't find it. (I just want to bitch about it <_< and this topic is somehow the only one related to this matter)

Hello, I need your advice! I just found a weird weapon on another survivor which isn't in the game afaik. I was running (newly spawned) through the forest between Cherno and Elektro and bumped into that guy called "MP". He had a silenced weapon in his hands and seemed friendly (didn't shoot me the second he saw me) so I turned my back on him and started to go my way - I'm not the bandit type (yet). But then he started shooting but lucky me was in cover behind a tree. I had a Lee Enfield on me and shot him down. Then I looted him (obvious) and found this crazy weapon: G36C SD (camo). I've never seen it and never heard of it, so my first thought was: "hacked"! This "MP" guy was obviously also newly spawned because ha had nothing else of value on him. Only this weapon and a humongous amount of STANAG SD ammo. I've took it all, but now I have doubt: is this weapon cheated? Should I destroy it? What should I do? Am I super lucky and shot down a bandit type of player who found this weapon near a heli crash site? Or is it the more obvious: one of many hacks? In which case I am tempted to destroy that weapon (in other words: put it in my full backpack) because I don't want to look like a hacker and I don't want cheated weapons in the game. Thank you for your help / advice. And sorry for my english.

Just so you know: I played again yesterday after 2 weeks of vacations and the G36SD was changed server side into a Makarov. So this weapon was hacked mos definetly.

I know that site and what weapons are in the game but I didn't know if that weapon I found was maybe just added to the game or something. I searched for it here in the forum and found nothing specific that's why I started this topic. Mainly to adress the problem and for a simple solution on how to destroy the weapon which I got. =) That's a kind offer! Maybe I will come back on it. =) Taking screenshots of his G36 holding corpse is a good hint. Will do that if something similar happens to me again. But there isn't a central website for reporting hackers/cheaters, is there?
