1) Because we only put one item in each tent respectively. I highly doubt, that someone would steal the single can of beans/road flare/epi-pen. Ofc, It's still possibe. 2) Tents tend to dupe. Even if someone raided it, I'd still expect the item to be there after the next server restart. They allegedly save only the first save (variation: first save before/since 1.7.2.4) and reload that from the next restart onward. Maybe they got raided before the first restart, though. Also, we found several tents of other players already, that definitely replenish themselves after each restart. 3) As mentioned in an earlier post, our tents often failed to load after the server restart (or restarts) following the placement of the respective tent. 4) A sizable amount of other players report similar experiences with tents. 5) Trying to get tents to work is our main concern atm (next to finding vehicles ofc). Each point on its own might not be too convincing (not 100% sure on the buggy mechanics yet), but in combination, I think it is safe to say that the tents being bugged is the more probable answer. -
On Hookers, Why DayZ is going the way of the Dodo, and more Hookers.
Fector replied to sleepless's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No. OP thinks, that DayZ would be a released game or something. Try again next year. -
How do you usually join the server? Arma, SU or another 3rd party application? It could be that they are simply not showing for you, but are up and running. Else, your tents are gone, since they are local to servers (as are vehicles).

What should I bring when I go to hunt for vehicles?
Fector replied to Obsolescence's topic in New Player Discussion
Patience, instinct, maybe a bike and enough food and drink. Then search for hidden vehicles along the northern and western edge of the map. We're still looking, though.^^ -
Spawning on coast when switching servers? READ THIS
Fector replied to Obsolescence's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I No, that must be just coincidence. The spawn-at-coast-bug has been happening to me in variations (with or without losing gear, with or without prior placement into debug area) in a gaming session I spent solely on one server, which was/is running the latest beta/patch. -

Well, our newly placed tents seemed to disappear, too. But they tend to return every other server restart. Also, we haven't yet managed to have any content in it reappear after a restart, ever. Anyway, I doubt these phenomena being server related. -
See the Dayz GuideZ Channel link in the signature above me - there are also quick start guides on how to gear up fast in one of the cities. Before I saw those, I tried to sneak around, too and got frustrated fast (there always is some Zed with spidey senses). After applying the approach, that is shown in the videos, It was like playing a different game. Scrap the sneaking and start running, at least until you've gathered the basics. And even then, sneaking only helps versus players (does it even?), Zeds can be handled by running, breaking line of sight and traversing through buildings. Kreaol - are you the Guidez guy? If yes, thanks a freaking lot, since you jumpstarted my experience in the game!

Every skin change (camo, ghillie, hero, bandit) leads to a debug display wipe afaik(though it keeps tracking, as you can see on the scoreboard). I was at 4860 humanity, when I first logged in with 1.7.2.5 and the next blood transfusion got me to 5110. The graphics reloaded, the debug was wiped and the skin was changed. If you can't tell from the pics, it's the scarf around the neck in the same greenish hue as the cap, fingerless gloves and a more casual looking vest and checkered shirt combo (varying long and short sleeves on different logins). .

If the heli owners on DE 277 are reading this...could you please provide the coordinates to the hiding place? A simple pm would do. Look at it as a shortcut to the inevitable, thus saving time for all of us. :) -
Could it be, that you wore a ghillie or camo before the morphs?. As in ghillie->morph to bandit->regain ghillie, including backpack overwrite...?

Check Game Options->Aiming Deadzone. The higher the value, the more space for your gun to move before the mouse movement changes your pov. So, for a traditional fps feeling you'll want '0'. Or it might be the already mentioned Mouse Smoothing. Or maybe your machine just can't handle the game? Would be kind of obvious, if that's the case, though.

Or just chill. Got infected myself today (by zombie bite, so no cold) and thought I srsly had to find the antibiotics or be coughing forever. Well, after about 30 minutes (w/o relog or anything) it just vanished by itself.

can u carry Multiple rifles, or rifle AND shotgun
Fector replied to hikerlt's topic in New Player Discussion
One thing might be worth mentioning - always switch from backpack to inventory. Other way round leads to the deletion of one weapon (if not enough space in pack). If done correctly, it even switches the ammo types with it. -
It's dangerous to go alone! Take this. http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/Known_Bugs

Afaik the 2 lootable outfits (i.e. camo & ghillie) come with their built-in backpacks, overwriting the currently worn pack during equipping (fix: drop your pack before equip). The 2 skins that come with alignment (hero & bandit) don't behave like that, as in 'I haven't experienced it myself (I wear the hero skin) or have heard others report it'.

Well, my short experience in the game differs vastly tbh. In the beginning (first session), I crawled around, trying to outstealth the Zeds and trying to hit barns and deer stands (because I read a lot of 'stay away from the cities' advice. It took lots of time and yielded very little. Then I watched the guides of some youtuber (Guidez iirc) on how to quickly gear up after spawning - he just ran through Cherno/Elektro, making a mad dash for the 'best' buildings. I tried it out and it made such a freaking difference. It's ridiculously easy to lose Zeds by running through and around buildings. Sneaking around just makes you slower, you'll aggro their spidey senses anyway. And if a player should actually snipe you - nothing is lost. If you want to play it safe, just join a low pop server for the start. Just run towards Cherno or Elektro after spawn, hit up the available super market, fire station, hospital and maybe school buildings, collect the essentials (morphine, bandages, weapons, hatchet, compass, binoculars, backpack, hunting knife, water bottle, matches) and leave the city towards the north. Don't stop, don't sneak, just run and loot. When you've got all or most of the above items, it's time to leave. After my death today (hint: don't try to lie down in a guard tower - you'll fall through the floor and die), I spawned near Elektro and got myself an alice pack, matches, binoculars, water bottle, canned food, soda (supermarket), Remington 870, Revolver, ammunition (fire stations), M16 (player corpse), map, compass (school), bandages, blood bag, morphine (hospital). All in no more than 10 minutes. My advice - cut the sneaking, hit a city, get decked out, start playing (as sneaky or gungho, as you like).

Spawned at coast, lost all gear? You can still do a corpse run!
Fector replied to Fector's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sucks to hear that - but that's why I posted this topic - to spread the knowledge, so it doesn't happen to the others :) Oh you... -
Spawned at coast, lost all gear? You can still do a corpse run!
Fector replied to Fector's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Don't think so, but not sure. So far, I experienced 3 different variations of the coastal spawn bug: 1) Spawn at coast, gear still there 2) Spawn in debug plains, all gear gone, after relog either 1), 3) or normal spawn (all gear, same place as logout) occur 3) Spawn at coast, all gear gone It's only with 3), that I can say for certainty you'll find a corpse, don't know about the other situations. Might very well be. You are either clueless or trolling, probably both. If they had died, their stats would be resetted and they would have the starter equip (backpack, bandage, flashlight, painkillers) - this is clearly not the case. People spawn without ANY gear, but keep their kills, headshots, etc.. Also, it can definitely happen without a prior alt-f4. -
Respawn at the beach and gear loss
Fector replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Go back to the place you logged out. You'll find your corpse and the gear there, if not too much time has passed/you dced again. -
[1.7.2.5/95883] Inventory completely emptied!
Fector replied to BAM5's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
When you spawn at the coast without any gear at all, but with your stats, try running to where you logged out at before. It is very likely that you'll find your corpse with all your loot there. -
Some people run alng the edge of the map, hunting for camps. Also,I heard of a bug where the vehicles skip spawning for one server restart. (Allegedly happens after first save/first restart and should respawn normally, at the saved location, after the next restart).

What kind of weird? Did they get away with the money? How did the story go on dammit...

Every time I join - I am at the beach
Fector replied to Draxx (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If you're at a spawn location after logging in and all your gear is gone - try to run to the place, where you logged out before. Your body is lying there, with all the gear. -
Spawn Bugs, I experienced with 1.7.2.5/95883 Logged out in the North. Logged in, spawned in Debug Plains, had no gear. Logged out and in, spawned in Otmel, with my gear. Played some, logged out and in, spawned in Otmel again. After second Otmel spawn, nothing special occurred for a while (i.e. spawned, where I logged out). Today I logged in and spawned in Debug Plains, had no gear. Logged out and in, spawned in Prigorodsky, gear still gone. Mate logs in at the place, I logged out - tells me, there is my body on the ground next to him, with all my gear. Seems I died, but kept my Stats.

Correct. Launch Arma2 OA Beta. (Might have to go to Expansions, enable DayZ and restart).
