24 player cap is fine for a game like this. Even 30 players feels too crowded. In my humble opinion. Some things just won't work on a console, but DayZ would be just fuckin fine.

What the fuck ever Civ Rev was fantastic. I probably have more than 2000 hours on that shit. It just had more of a board game feel to it than the rest of the Civs. (Which also feel like fucking board games).

DayZ as I have been playing it right now would be fine on a console with nerfed graphic settings and 24 player cap. Its cute how butt hurt you "PC Master Race" people get. There really isn't anything complicated about DayZ. No customization, very basic ... EVERYTHING. If they could trim the Arma 2 fat from it it would very easily be playable on a console.

Yesterday while gather loot and running it back to my tent on US 1338, it randomly became night. Then I could hear footsteps around me and I was one shotted. Re logged onto the server and it was day time. WTF happened?

That is kind of weird. Sounds like the tent duped. Which would be the cause of the disappearing gear from what I have read. Can't say for sure though as I just found my first tent yesterday, after 100 hours of game time.

Nooooo. But there really needs to be atleast twice as many vehicles per server, and most that need nothing to run.

I hear them randomly from time to time just wandering around with no bodies near. Showering and pooping should be added. lawl.

I don't have dual monitors but I leave DayZDB accessible at all times to use the map. Height maps are almost as useful as a compass.

Grouping is the most fun. Stay out of Cherno or Elektro unless you are just grabbing shit and getting out ASAP. Play unpopulated servers until you get decent gear. Then play this shit like its Metal Gear. If you try to help other noobs 9/10 times you are going to have a bad time. For starters I have had more luck in Berezino for good gear than any other location. Its safer than Cherno or Elektro but in highly populated servers people frequent the hospital, supermarket and military tents NE of the hospital.

Had the same thing happen on an ATV, but I was DC'd. Came back and flew off the ATV in a knocked out state and it took 10 minutes to for the timer to get halfway down. Then I just randomly died. I ran back and everything was gone including the ATV.

So over the weekend I became enraged by the player killing and decided I was going to start shooting first. Started stalking ever player I saw from then on. I killed 4 guys the first 3 were armed with AK variants. The first was in a warehouse and didn't seam to be hostile at all, the second was AFK on the coast until I got close to him, the third was looting a body 100m or so from the guy on the coast. The last guy jumped out of a bush in a guillie and said "Hey man, friendly. Don't shoot." He had an AS50 in his hands. I turned around and shot him. He had 8 mountain dews, all of the extra gear (range finder, matches, combat knife, etc..). As soon as I killed this guy the messages read (*blank* was killed [Friendly Fire]) and I randomly died. I spawned a short run away from the guy and grabbed all of the loot and logged out for the night. I jumped back on yesterday and the second I logged on there was an AKM in my face. I died. I spawned again and started running back to my body. On the way I see a noob getting messed up by some infected. I take the infected from him, he runs into a warehouse to bandage. I lose most of them and run into the same warehouse to bandage. He runs at me swinging like a noob and I just stand there while he misses like 8 freakin' times hoping I will spawn somewhere better. He finally kills me and I spawn about 2 minutes away from where I died the first time. I'm running down the coast to Cherno and the same fucking guy that killed me the first time is now stalking me. He kills me. I spawn in Cherno. As soon as I spawn I hear *Pop, pop, pop, ting, ting, ting* Some ass with an Einfield is taking pop shots from 300m minimum. I run into a warehouse and find a hatchet. The whole time I am still hearing random shots wherever I go. I get into an apartment and they are getting closer. I wait upstairs for him to come up but he doesn't after 10 minutes. I am expecting this guy to be sitting in front of the door so the hatchet is out and ready to go. He runs at me shooting as soon as I run out of the door and I swing once and break his legs. I tried to run and leave him to his broken legs but he got me.... So yeah. Karma?
