  1. Perhaps make starting fires incredibly common, but make multiple methods that require better fire starting tools that eventually end with matches. Start out with rubbing sticks, requiring a good 15-20 mins to start. Then move up to a bow drill or something similar(Perhaps requiring twine or paracord), finally ending with just striking a match and starting a fire.

[GUIDE] City Sized Maps - WIP

Hey sarge, I'll take a look at it today. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe it's time I go through and check each individual house I marked so far just to make sure. I'm pretty confident I've missed a few interiors on that map anyways. I'd like to get it and Chernarus finished today.

  4. I carry a hatchet in my survival bag at all times. And when one can't be found, a hunting knife and a large stick will achieve the same thing. But outside of cutting wood, hatches could be useful for other things. For instance, building fortifications or new bolts?

    Spawn button

Could we please get a spawn button? I understand that the waiting times while connecting to servers will continue to be a problem. But a huge issue stemming from it is that a lot of players alt tab out and do other stuff while the game takes 10-20 mins to spawn you, leading to their deaths because they didn't have the time to watch a screen do nothing for half an hour. We just need a button, after loading, that spawns us rather than spawning without user input.
  6. I've watched a few youtube videos (And it's recently happened to me), where zombies would try to get to you through a building, trying to hit you through it, etc. Eventually this depletes the buildings hitpoints and the model swaps to the damaged or destroyed state I suggest a new animation set is made, having the zombies physically hitting the house or scanning the walls, rather than trying to attack the player outright between a wall. This would hopefully come with some sound effects of hitting stuff, breaking windows and doors, etc. And hopefully this would give the zombies a better ai behavior to exhibit when trying to get to someone indoors, rather than just morphing right through walls or outright just hitting and biting dudes through hard surfaces. Also, it'd be a good to make it so when a house is demolished by zombies, it attracts every zombie in the area. A toppling house would make a ton of noise.
  7. This is an arma 2 "feature", as it allows the AI to get to places that the AI code isn't advanced enough to take care of. So walls, doors, fences, gates, hesco barriers, sand bags, barbed wire, etc... They were actually working on this a while ago in a beta patch which made AI crawl through openings in fences instead of just phasing through. So hopefully BIS will continue work on the issue and get it solved finally.

[GUIDE] City Sized Maps - WIP

Yep. I didn't know either town had military areas. I assume they're like the one south of bolata? I'll be sure to make a "military base" icon for those areas' date=' since they are quite a bit different from the other military areas I have marked. I'll upload them to my own server, better yet. The high rez links should still work. [edit] fixed. Congrats guys, you used 10GB in less than 2 days. :P Editor. "camera.sqf"

    Morphine...

I agree. But first things first, Let's just remember that I killed hundreds of zombies, even with little ammo, in those 20 mins. And they only got me because a swarm of zombies literally decided to knock the house down around me. So with that in mind, I win at life comparably. :P Anyways, morphine is obviously used in game to dull the pain of broken bones, so you can wrap them and keep moving I assume? Perhaps we could have splints instead, with morphine being a cure all when it comes to intense pain and painkillers only killing off mild pain. For instance, the concussions you receive for trying to walk through crowded door ways or the dismembered body parts resulting from getting too close to a stationary heli crash.
  10. Captured just outside of Zeleno as I was starving to death.

Let's see who knows their weapons

A glock would be cool, specially in 10mm or .40, but what I'd really like to see is a full size XDm in .40. :P It'd make the perfect go between gun between the quiet but weak 9mm's, and the super loud, low ammo, but far more effective .45 ACP guns.

Heh, funny you say that. I already have one of the bases. The base maps actually could be a little bit different, more tactically focused. I just wish I could get a test server to get better shots on, since vanilla Chernarus isn't nearly the same as Chernarus during the zombie apocalypse. I'll see what I can do with one of those next.

[GUIDE] City Sized Maps - WIP

I'll give it a try. Might have to split it up between the town and the docks though. It's one of the largest settled areas on the map. Thanks. :) That's the plan. But I've never messed with any interactive map APIs' date=' so it'll be a new project for me. I actually completely agree with you. And I feel the same way. When I don't have a map IG, I don't generally use one (nor do I have too, all that often) outside of the game. But we have to remember that we're only one solitary type of player among dozens of other types of players. And some players find it too difficult without a map. That's not to say that they aren't trying hard enough or are particularly bad at tactical FPS or adventure/survival games, but instead it's just simply another play style to cater to. And while I don't use out of game maps most of the time, I can sympathize with those who do and help them out a bit as a fun little side project.
