Play with your friends :) Problem solved. All online games I just play with my friends, so I don`t have to find new "friends" online, most of them are very rude, selfish and yeah, what you described in your post. Best regards.

I agree that something need`s to be done. At the moment people are only pk`ing because there is not much you can do. Zombies are not a threat anymore. The one I could not agree with is nr3. I am not a bandit myself (never been one, and prob never will be) but I still think it`s wrong to punish them like this. Making a red dot above them that people can see from far away is a VERY bad idea in my opinion. If they already did the thing with humanity and running I have to start re-thinking buying this game when it launches. I don`t like it when dvs takes side like that. The rest seems like a good idea. (most of it has already been postet several times) Cheers.

Too much time on you hands? Just wondering since you actually found a thread that was last uppdated 25 June 2012 - 07:22 AM, and then you whine about the thread beeing whiny? Bumping a thread because it`s to whiny? Looking for threads too whine about? Whining about someone whining? There are so many questions here. Hehe. Oh, and the irony.... Could not keep myself from asking, found this kinda funny :) Cheers.

A friendly wave to the guy above me :)

To be honest I only play on veteran servers (no crosshair, no 3rd person, and no hover over info) As long as they have veteran servers with these things I would be okey with other people playing on servers that makes it easier for them :) There are a few things that makes 3rd person kinda silly. (Not mention by the OP) 1. You can run around alot without bothering with the painkillers, in 3rd person you can do alot while still "shaking" cause you are not shaking. (silly in my opinion) 2. Driving vehicles becomes too easy and you don`t bump around when driving offroad, Servers with only 1st person people will always prefer roads, making them more realistic. But as I said. Give people "easy game" servers so we can weed out those guys on the servers I play on :)

Everyone want`s to stay alive ! But with a good tent going and some vehicles death does not really scare people enough in my opinion. What I am suggesting is a system where you as a survivor adapt and are able to learn skills the longer you stay alive. These skills or feats should not give you a any real advantage when you are forced to kill another player. I propose this: The longer you survive the more skills you learn, you adapt to the zombie apocalypse. We all know that as a player you also learn and adapt. You know where you are more often, your aim is getting better, you know the tricks of the zombie world. What to loot first, where you find items and so on. Remember, the feats I propose here are things you can`t improve in front of you computer. And will make people want to stay alive even more (getting more to loose). But still NOT give you to much of an edge against others. And I hope, will add a fun and rewarding addition to an already fun "game". *some confusion forced me to add this: after 50 (debatable) hours of online survival you recive 1 point, 1 point only. You can not just start of and eat alot of canned food and get "King of Cans". Sure you can log in eat alot of canned (stored in your tent) food and wait 50 hours to get 1 rank in King of cans, but then you might just aswell play. I used King of cans as an example only. King of cans: Ranks: 3 Description:You have collected, stacked, eaten and lived of cans for a long time, this becomes you`r speciality Rank 1: Cans of the same type will stack in your inventory and bag in stacks of 2. Rank 2: stack in 3. Rank 3: Your body has adapted to the "canned life" you gain 50% thirst reduction everytime you consume a canned food. Require: 1 free point for each rank, you have consumed 150 various cans as a survivor. Crossbow master: Ranks: 2 Description:The crossbow is you favorite weapon, you love the sneaky kills, the thrill of using an non-projectile weapon. You use this every day, study it, learn how to be more efficent. Rank 1: You can learn how to pile bolts. Bolts now stack in piles of 5. Rank 2: The crossbow is deadly when the bolt is comming from you`r bow, the crossbow does 25% more dmg in your capable hands. Require: 1 free point for each rank. Killed 50 zombies with a crossbow for rank 1. Killed 150 zombies for rank 2. Toughness: - Removed -> could give people an advantage in pvp. Backpacker: Ranks: 3 Description: You live out of you backpack, it`s your home. You learn how to pack better, stack more efficent and use the space you got. Rank 1: You gain 1 additional slot in your equipped backpack. Rank 2: You gain 1 additional slot in your equipped backpack. Rank 3: You gain 2 additional slot in your equipped backpack. (max 4 slots extra) Require: 1 free point for each rank. You must have had 20 different items in you backpack (?) Rank 3 also require that you have obtained the Alice Backpack. Driver: Ranks: 1 Description: Your experience in cherno have taught you that fuel can be risky to collect, so you learn how to drive more economic. Rank 1: When you drive you use 10% less fuel. Require: 1 free point for each rank. You have spent 10 hours of driving. Fitness: Ranks: 2 Description: First rule of Cherno... ? Cardio ? Rank 1: You can run at max speed for an additional 5 sec after everyone else will get tired. Rank 2: You regain a steady hand aiming down the iron sight faster, AND when you use a biclyle you gain 10% speed. Require: 1 free point for each rank. First aid: Ranks: 2 Description: You have learned first aid the hard way, but are getting more skilled at it as you go along. Rank 1: When you use bandage there is a x% amount chance that you can bleed for another 300 blood due to the fact you are not experienced in first aid, rank one will make you stop bleeding right away, and it will increase the speed that you using "bandage" by x amount% Rank 2: Blood transfusion become increasingly effective after choosing this feat, you gain 1000 blood points extra from a blood pack. (1 blood pack only restore 4000 blood when an unexperienced survivor tries to transfuse blood)Thanks to Lights Out Require: 1 free point for each rank. Rank 1: used bandage 10 times. Rank 2: After your first blood transfusion in rank 2 you will be able to heal 5000 and increasingly more to 12 000 Master hunter: Thanks to Lights Out Ranks: 2 Description: You have spend your fair ammount of time in the woods, hunting, gutting, making campfire. But you dont just do this for survival, you love it. Rank 1: Raw meat will stack in your inventory in stacks of 3. Cooked meat will however still require a whole slot. Rank 2: When you gut an animal you get 1-2 extra pices of raw meat, you can also choose to cook a 3 stack of meat making a "campfire feast" where 3 people can eat 3 "Charges" of 1600 blood. Require: 1 free point for each rank. Rank 1: killed and guttet 20 animals. Rank 2: Made 20 campfire and cooked meat on them "1 free point for each rank." ?? You will be able to obtain a maximum of 6 points (can be more but require would require ALOT of time). When you have survived 50 hours (online time) you will recive your first point. If you have spent this time doing as little as possible you will not be able to choose among some of the feats. None of the feats are "locked" I.E. you can choose at free will what you want, but in some of the feat trees you see that the highest rank often give you a better "edge" then the lower ranks. The minimum requirement must be filled. You can not call yourself a "crossbow" master without ever using a crossbow. The idea is to make dying worse, but not give people with the feats an edge in a firefight. (not to much). Toughness. *Removed since the perk was removed. Visual effects are always nice. This is just a quick overview on how I picture it. http://fitnessjenter.../days-feats.jpg Thanks for reading, and feel free to add or come with suggestions. Best Regards. Edit* *Fixed first aid to make bandage stop bleeds (this will require bleed to continue with 300 blood if this feat is not chosen) *And blood packs will only restore 4000 blood default, it`s a blood transfusion and it will be a mess unless you learn how to do it proper. *Added Master Hunter Thanks to Lights Out. (hope I got it right) *Removed toughness, could give an edge in pvp.

Great to see so many people who actually got the point of the post. This guy have said many good things in this post, but I think he can safely talk for the entire dayz community with this comment. You guys are making me run out of beans over here :) And I love that in this forum most people are okey with making the game harder, we actually asks for "nerfs" to ourselfs, and that shows that we concerned about the gameplay and not to "own" others or making the game mainstream. valuable two cents in my opinion, if you read some of the replys I did in this post, most of them are about this, making people behave more realistic. "We have to give them something to be able to take something away" We already know that gear is not enough, you can farm gear and stack up your tent, so it has to be something else. People who say staying alive is enoug for them, are new to this. They will come to a point where they are also done, and surviving is just to easy. So you want more. And people stack up their tents and run for the city, jumping around like a bf3\css character with no concern for the zombies or other players, cause he`s got nothing to loose. Yeah, why have it flash over your screen like some arcade game? No, a subtle indicator should be enough. Completely agree :) Thanks for all the support so far, great to see people who takes the time to read the post, think, and understand it. Best regards.

Just a small suggestion, wanted to know what you (as a community) think. How about a log-out screen, and a char delay on logout? Problem: You are in a pvp fight for whatever reason, you are closing in on the kill, he knows it you know it. He logs out. Or the other way around you log out when in trouble. As of now people even log out and rejoin another server, go around and kill you from behind (or to get gear). But I think that is mention in another post. Solution: Have a logout requirement. I.E you have to sit for 30 sec. Or something in that direction. People can still "task mng, close task" but the char would stay ingame even longer maybe 1min (?) if they did that. Thank you for reading. Best Regards.

Ah, did not know that, thanks for the head`s up. And yeah, the office is fun, so not a complete waste :) Cheers.

Starting to wonder if you even read peoples posts :) To quote myself here: "Honestly not sure how to defend the "not bring the book" thing" "You cannot bring books with you, I know that sounds kinda stupid," I think you assume alot, and are bordeline insulting in your "oberservations" Keep telling people to play other games all the time is not really productive, it`s destructive. I would welcome people to this game instead of telling them where the door is. Same with suggestions. Btw. Never played "The sims". But enough time wasted on you. I think this could make soscial gameplay even better, maybe you have to get a guy who can repair cars. Perhaps one guy in your group know how to proper do a blood transfusion? I agree xXI Mr Teo IXx what you suggest can help with people not stacking books in their tents :)

If I played the wrong game I would be gone a long time ago, I think we can agree that people who actually play dayz despite bugs, hackers, servers swallowing all your gear, vehicles disapear (the list is long) is not playing the wrong game. Since you don`t know me assumptions from your part only lead to missunderstandings. I love sims, I printet out 40++ pages back in the days just to learn how to start a plane in a aricraft sim. And I have played all arma games since the first one. How much time do you need ? I have played arma since the first game and played sims as long as I know. You actually "pulled" the weapon dmg perk as an example ?? It`s the damn crossbow you are talking about, yeah, the one you NEVER use, the one people just pass by when they see it. If you had this perk you would still use a gun, I am sure. Most people would simply not use it because a gun would be better. Youmissunderstand the point of this. I have said this so many times that I am tired of repeating myself. This is NOT to give anyone an edge, but to give people something to loose when they die!! At it`s current state I see people who behave like they don`t care about surviving, because of 2 things, they are "done" yeah that`s right they can`t really "learn" much more. And second they have emptyed all their gear in a tent so they don`t care about dying anymore. As xXI Mr Two IXx says I also want more out of dayz. Perhaps you have much to learn or to explore, but the time will come when you feel done aswell. Fact is most people will never even see any of the feats, many will not even survive for 50 hours, so when you do and you get that perk, you don`t want to die even if it does not give you an edge in pvp. If you want to stack 5 bolts in your pack you have to kill 50 zombies with a cross bow and survive for 50 hours, I am sure you have done none of these so far. If a perk can make you work for something you would otherwise not even bother with it will expand the your gameplay, you can plan what you want to do and how you should contribute to a group. And to top it off you agree with the guy who does not want "dicerolls" !?! Zombie hits you, a rng (diceroll) decide if you will start bleeding. Zombie hits you, a rng (diceroll) decide if you will break a bone. Zombie hits you, a rng (diceroll) decide if you will become concust. Car crash, diceroll decide if it starts to burn. Shots in the game already affected by dicerolls. Heck, even when you enter a city the "die is rolled" what loot will spawn. (can make a longer list) Diceroll is the closest you can come to some realism, if you do something and it ALWAYS works it is unrealistic that is why arma 2 (and the previous ones, inkl dayz) use diceroll NOW! there is not much diceroll in the suggestions i made, only in the bandage one and that was suggested by someone who liked the idea, so I changed it since I agree that the my previous feat was bad. Not a fan of diceroll myself, but used correctly they are a great tool, and need`s to be there so we don`t ALWAYS succeed in things we do over and over again. And thanks to xXI Mr Two IXx he said so much in his post I was thinking myself :) Oh and one last thing, never really played skyrim much, did not like it, got boring really fast. I played arma 2 :)

Hmm, could be nice :) But I propose 2 things (if that`s okey?) Example 1: You can change a wheel on a car (get it running) but to be able to fix engine, hull, winscreen (any major thing) you would need to find a book. Example 2: You cannot bring books with you, I know that sounds kinda stupid, but if you can this would open up a whole new thing, people will just stack books in their tent\camp and when they die they just walk to their tent and in a short wile they can do it all again. Honestly not sure how to defend the "not bring the book" thing but I hope you understand what I am afraid of here. Good post !

None of them give you more advantage then what is already in the game, if we meet on an open field, you can now have a alice backpack and I can have a starter pack, I could still win. So if you add a perk nothing will change this fact. Point to any other perk or skill that will make a diffrence. (cross bow is made usable, but will still be worse in pvp than any other weapon) So I should complain when you kill with your M16A4 ACOG? And only have a Makarov? Who said anything about a char sheet? You are joking right ? Don`t patronize people. NO ONE belives you will better process canned food. But do you think eating a can of beans will give you more blood? That is currently in the game. We can circle around this "realistic" subject as much as want but we will end up with the fact that there are already so many things in the game that are unrealistic. But why add more ? Not adding more, just building on the same streamline they are already in. (your english is fine, it`s not my main language either, but as long we understand each other right?) :) I love not having skills, I love the realistic game. Sims are my thing, but adding some more flavour is welcomed in my book. What makes you live is the gear you find, the food you find the luck you have when a zombie hits you and an rng calculate if you should break a bone or loose your consciousness. No need to beat around the bush, there are already advantages in the game and you use them every day. And ofc the skills you have as a player, this would not change. If you go ("IF", something that is not going to happen) ALL of these perks ... ALL of them... I could still shot to to death right after I found a weapon. That`s the point here. An axe should be just as effictive in your hands as it is in any other players, same with any weapon. This mod is great, but it is missing alot of things, that`s why they made a suggestion board. They will add alot of things that will be "unrealistic" or give someone an advantage. The problem is to implent this in a way that does not ruin the gameplay. If you read some of my other posts you will see that this is a way to make people behave like a "survivor" not some guy who just dumped everyting in a tent and just run around, not a care in the world shooting everything around him, cause he`s got nothing to loose. THAT in my opinion is both stupid and unrealistic, Thanks for reading. Best regards.

One character name ~ DayZ standalone
Raventhorn replied to CerebralZombie (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
/agree. Can`t see any downside with this :) Cheers -
A good point, I have been thinking the same myself. Perhaps replace with something else that would not give an advantage at all? Very true, not only in the accuracy on weapons but also many other places, heck when you enter a city there is an rng that calculate what loot you get. There are rng for dmg on cars. Problem is that people toss around "dice rolls" and are not 100% where they are used. Thanks for your reply, Perhaps I will remove toughness :) A good suggestion. *Edit: removed thoughness thanks to suggestions I read in here.
-
Bingo, you got it :) No extra dmg on guns only making crossbow a viable option to add some flavour, but still, with this perk, normal weapons would be better in pvp. The whole point of this is not to give people more edge, it`s to give the something to loose when they die !

Rewards for survival (Open for suggestions!)
Raventhorn replied to -Atlas-'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I agree, no one should have perks or skills that give them an advantage in combat vs other players. That`s why I spend that much time on my suggestion, but if you not going to read it it`s really no point in replying either. Don`t you agree? Kinda makes your entire post mute, so I can`t belive I actually spent the time to read it all when you admit to not reading my suggestion. The point of my suggestion is not to give people an edge, but giving them something to loose when they die. As I answered to someone in my topic. "Run for it, he can stack his beans" Or "jesus christ, these guys have 2 extra slot in their backpack, let`s get out of here". :) -
Rewards for survival (Open for suggestions!)
Raventhorn replied to -Atlas-'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This is pretty much what I was thinking when I made my post. Here is My suggestion: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/86283-experienced-survivors/ It`s alot to read. But I also agree that at it`s current state with tent`s and everything it`s just not bad enough to die. People just don`t care. Please read the whole post or it`s kinda pointless. Best regards. -
Server Hopping and Communities, solutions through Server Geography
Raventhorn replied to Kransthow's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well written post. I agree that this is problem, and I always tell my friends to not server jump (simply because I think it`s a douchebag thing to do). They simply log out near a factory and log in until they find everything they need on different servers. Your suggestions seems like something they could do. But how about just giving a new spawn, I.E. if you change server you keep your gear but get a "fresh spawn". This will keep people from jumping to get gear in the same way and it would keep people from ambushing. They could still escape danger, but you can`t really prevent that, you could just log off anyway. And having more stable and avaliable server is also a good thing. Would be pissed of if I was not able to change servers but the server I am currently on is always down. (what is happening as we speak.) Great post. Cheers. -
Rewards for survival (Open for suggestions!)
Raventhorn replied to -Atlas-'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Made a topic about this. But it`s kinda long :) -
Well... the "fucker" currently in front of me has just put all his good stuff in his tent, so he does not give a fuck about anything. I try to talk to him, but what`s the point, he does not care. Hi is "empty", so shot.... If he dies, he goes to his tent and he is right back where he started. "I want the fucker in front of me to actually care if he lives or dies."
-
Yeah, cause when you meet a guy with those 1-2 extra slots in his backpack you are i trouble, or a guy who can stack his beans ? "He can stack his beans... RUN!!" Seriously, I get the feeling that some people don`t read the entire post, just browse over it and draw a quick conclusion. Don`t worry Lights Out, no one played warz, it has not been released, they wanted to have classes an perks that could make you win a pvp fight so people who just browse over the post will belive that this is the same thing. These perks are not for others, they are only for yourself. Let me explain (again). At it`s current state you can go to your tent, empty everything you have on yourself and run around as "new char". This makes more people careless about surviving, this will lead to a more unrealistic behavior model from players. We can`t have people in your room giving you a hard slap in the face when you die but perhaps if you lost something more you would start behaving like you actually want to live. I know these perks are not much but when you suvived for 50 hours got 1 point and have 1 exstra bag slot you actually loose something when you die. This whole topic is about giving people more to live for without giving them a "edge" in pvp. I agree that toughness is a slight edge (don`t know for sure how much) the crossbow is never used anyway, so that is just to add some flavour and make people actually use it (would still be worse in a pvp fight)

Give Current Dayz Players Free Game Keys On Release
Raventhorn replied to Mikeloeven (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Excuse my "lazyness" did not read any posts, just the main post. I don`t care that I have to buy the game, in fact, I welcome it. Dean and the dev team could use some more money to develop dayz on arma 3 and improve the current one. And I think he said something about a minecraft model so people who are "into" the game can buy it early on cheap. What I like about this is that Dean said himself that he knew that he could maximize income for Dayz if he let a buisiness man run the game dev. They would make it easy and mainstream, more customers and more money. If that happens they loose me (but why care when you get 10 000 more of each hardcore who quits?) But I am prob. just saying the same thing as many others already said :) My opinion: When dayz comes out as a stand alone..... "Shut up and take my money" :) -
What kind of zombies should be in DayZ
Raventhorn replied to Lights Out's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Choose undead :) but maybe because I read the article where Dean tells us that he will get help from his brother who is a virologist. But would be cool to have both in a sense. Or atleast have different game mech. on them. Some stronger and faster able to do more dmg. I replyed in the Zed Mechanics post about this. Having stronger zombies would open up the idea of having dangerous zones you have to avoid if you alone or have bad "gear" (axe). Zones where the loot is higher but so is the risk. People new to the game would not be able to reconize who are the strong zombies, but you can learn that without dying. I belive Dean said he wanted to implement a way to "study" the infected\undead in some way and learn about them. Cheers -
I like the idea of woodland constructions. But can you destroy them if you find one? Would love to see some sort of "food chain" in the game aswell :) I hope Dean will add some of these aspects. Cheers.
